National Visa Center (Dept of State)	Getting NVC case number	Also, the USCIS operator was so friendly enough that he tried to educate me about this time-consuming process. He said that once the NVC received our file, they will send the USC petitioner a package and she'll have to send the package back and confirm that she still wants to file for me!! and then they will send it to the embassy! That's why it's taking additional processing time. I never heard of any K-1 petitioner getting a package from the NVC, so I tried to argue with him and make sure that he was not talking about CR-1 visa. He stood by his answer and I didn't want to bother arguing with him, so I just said "okay if you say so" *grab my popcorn" Different day, different answer. This is pretty amusing. When shuold I call to find out if the already sent it to the embassy? Also they said it takes about two weeks for the embassy to receive file? Is that true? Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	What is next?	Hello.  FInally after 8 months of waiting my AOS got approved on Aug 31 2013. In the card it says it expired Aug 31 2015. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	VSC - update	Unfortunately this isn't much of an update since they've been saying Jan 9th for over 2 months now. You can keep up with all of us over on the Jan and Feb forums where many attempts have been made to involve congresspeople, senators, priests, moms and Tom Cruise. I don't mean at all to make light of your venting, trust me when I say I know exactly how you feel. At this point they are saying it's not worth involving a congressman/woman until 30 days PAST 5 months, which for you is August 15th. I've given hopes up of seeing it before August 9th. CSC is faster, but that's not going to make VSC faster. I'm sorry I don't have anything to offer in the way of solutions. I saw on igor's list I have similar noa1 date but she got her noa2 on 10th of May.. (happy for her but somehow I felt a bit jealous) I hope to get mine very soooooon enough before I get gray hair haha! I feel very jealous too hah....I saw two numbers right before mine 06 and 07 got an approval and a RFE yesterday the 15....maybe I am next? Just called USCIS help desk to inquire about a 'outside the normal processing time' request, they said for VSC they are processing at 5 months, but are processing date 12/4/11. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up...looks like it could be another 2 weeks before we hear anything (assuming 5 months is really 5 months) Calling my congressman now to see if they can help.
