US Embassy and Consulate Discussioncriminal background + I-134 affidavit of support
Hello,

I have 2 questions. The first one is about the I-134 affidavit of support. Does my fiance in the USA have to fill out the I-134 and also the Co-sponsor or is only the Co-sponsor good enough?

My second question is about my criminal background. At the embassy you have to say if you have committed any crimes. I have committed 2. My first one I was an accomplice to stealing a pair of pants when I was 18 (in the Netherlands) and all I got for it was a fine because it was my first offence ever. In the Netherlands after 5 years small things go off your record (so they say). My second offense was last year. My fiance's sister called the cops (in the USA) and told them I hit her. Her friend backed up the story because they both hate me. I had no one as a witness so I got screwed on that one(pardon my language). They were swearing in front of children and went outside so I slammed the door on them and told them they couldnt come in until they acted mature. They cops dont believe 1 person. So I got a fine for that too. My question is do I have to tell the embassy of both of these crimes? and if so would this delay my entry by a long time?

thank you

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionaffidavit of support
I have a few questions:

If my fiance cant support me because she is under the $18000 poverty guidelines and we cannot find a co-sponsor can we still get approved at the consulate? or is there another solution to this problem?

If we could not get a co sponsor then would it help if I had a letter from an employer in america stating that I will always have a job there when I get there?

If I went to america and got married to her, would I still need to have a sponsor or co sponsor? (i am filing for a K1 visa right now)

Well once you get accepted and go to the consulate they need your tax returns and a letter from your job stating how long you've been working there and what you make in a year there. Basically its all about how long you've been working there, how much you make a year, how much is on your bank account and taxes. For the consulate you have to meet 100% of the poverty guide lines and 125% when in america. if you have any questions feel free to ask.

I used to live in the USA for 14 years. and I went back there for a year on internship and just got back 4 months ago. i got a fine for disorderly conduct while i was there and i just wanted to know if i needed to get a police certificate from the USA or do they do the check themselves? and if so where or how do i go about getting one?
