Sorry things didn't work out, but at least your back in the game quickly. I am just waiting for Natasha to get home so we can discuss when she will come to America. We are thinking the end of May, so I probably have another long wait, but at least we know she can come. Good luck with your new situation.

OK so this has been discussed, but as you know the old threads are a mess. I am sending Natasha to get the cash for the ticket. So where to get them, one way or round trip, etc. If you have any links to the old threads it would help. I can't search now here at work but will later tonight. Just wanted to see if anyone has anymore relevant info at this time. Thanks

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusFinancial Info (prior to interview)
Slim, I hope she gets the papers in time, what I did when I sent some paperwork was I sent two sets of the papers in seperate envelopes using the cheap methods, as it turns out both sets arrived 3 days apart, but the funny thing is one set was ruined (water or something) so sending two sets saved me quite a hassle. :P

Yes Natasha is out with her friends celebrating tonight, as for me I am very relieved. I am going to take a hot bath and a sleeping pill and sleep for 12 hours or more. Its rough staying up all night but I know she will be on a plane soon enough. I can't wait to get our apartment together. Thanks everyone for your help in this process and your support for the last 5 months. :D

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusMoscow Apartment
I stayed in a real nice place and highly recommend it, it was 85$ a night but in a decent area and totally renovated with a jacuzzi, it was not huge but very clean and nice people to deal with. It was a 10 minute walk to the main street, and I would go back there anytime. I will get the link for you shortly, and some links of our pics in the place. One nice thing was they had a store right out the door in the back, it had everything we needed and a bank across the street. I dont know your tastes but we loved it and they didnt ask for deposit and even met us on New Years eve to let us in. Everything was as they said on the website, and Natasha felt very comfortable there, though the funny thing is I had to find the way back because she was lost when we went out at night. The linens were new and clean, the bathroom and kitchen were brand new and spotless, there was a washer for clothes, and most utensils for making your own food. Its only a split studio though if you need something bigger.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusWife not allowed to leave Russia for U.S.
If I had known it was this complicated I never would have had Natasha change her name to mine, we will have to take a week long vacation to New York just to get a damn stamp in her passport. Might be easier and cheaper just to get her name legally changed back. Sorry to hear your in this situation.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusRe-visiting Russia
Getting a homestay visa may take a very long time, mine took 3 months and then forever to reach me by mail, had to scramble to get a tourist visa instead and then getting the OVIR to register it required a letter from the tourist company to the OVIR office stating I had changed plans and was going to stay with friends, it also required a good friend to someone in the office helping us out. Russian tourism is down like 10 percent this year, if they would use a friendlier approach to people in regards to visas it would certainly help. Anyway its easier to stay in Moscow and use an internet visa provider who has an office in Moscow, thats a slam dunk.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusAP what the hell for? Dont change name!!!!
Natasha is not planning on going back until February, and personally I don't see why anyone would consider this out of the ordinary, she has elderly parents, a grandmother who is 85 and many very close friends, why wouldn't she want to go back and see them. Hell I wish I could go back to Russia for a few months and see the friends I have there. Well anyway I guess we just do what we have to when the time comes.

Ok so I applied for AP for Natasha, but she took my last name, so how the heck can she travel to Russia???
Her internal and external Russian passports show her maiden name, you can't get consulate to stamp without green card for her new last name!!! AP will show new last name, I just don't understand what name we would buy tickets in and how she can get in and out of Russia and then enter US. And when she has green card how can we get the stamp from consulate? Do we have to go there or can we fed ex everything? This is just a damn mess.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusIs Relationship a Secret in RUS?
To me that sounds like a really strange request, Tasha wanted me to meet everyone in her family and her friends, and we all took alot of pictures. We have a large age difference, but noone really cared because we all got along great. But really why ask us? Why not ask her this question so you know the real answer......or at least the one she is giving you. But then I don't really know the area she is from so maybe there is some tradition or belief that involves bad luck in showing pictures of your beloved before marriage. Just ask her!

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusTravel problem, passport maiden name
Hi everyone, I know this is posted before and I have tried to research the answer as best I could, I just hope we are not screwed. Natasha has my name now and her passport is in her maiden name, she is in Russia with sick father, supposed to come back before Christmas. She was going to try and get the stamp in Russia but they will not accept the official copy of marriage certificate to change it. Also it will take like 3 months even with the apostled copy which I dont even know how to do. Anyway.....

1. I know she could be denied boarding if she gets some unhappy attendant

2. I will get tickets from expedia, so etickets or mailed to her for $36.00?

3. Do I get the tickets in her passport maiden name or greencard married name?

Read the threads but any other information will be helpful. :(

I envy you castaway, can you afford an adopted son? An old one but wish I could do the same for a year or two, Natasha would love it if I could come to Russia and stay for awhile. Too many damn bills. Oh and I would even work for you taking photos, :)

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusHow much time is enough?
Natasha actually left early during her J1 visit and never got the SSN, so we will just go get the SSN in maiden name after a couple weeks and then again after getting married, but the real question I had was about the stamp from New York, is that the real reason that the SSN is issued easier? In other words if she goes through Chicago instead of New York, will it make it impossible to get SSN using the I94?

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusHow much time is enough?
Thanks Sat, though we have some differing opinions, I appreciate your continued support in everyones case. The reason I bring it up is people have said they had problems with SSN and the I94 thing, but I forgot how many days it was, I think 14 or something like that. Tasha wants to go to Vegas and so do I, but she will be 21 in July, that means if she comes in April it will be about 60 or 70 days, I just want her to have a nice wedding and still not have probs on the SSN and AOS. Thanks again Sat, your advice has been very helpful in this process of bringing my love home to me. Me and Tasha want to go wild in Vegas and have fun, but that requires her to be 21 at the time, so we are planning around her birthday. :D

Just wondering how late in the 90 days you can go without paperwork problems for AOS. We want to wait for a later wedding date but not wait for her to come to USA.?
