Su had her Biometrics today. WOW only 32 from the time we first sent the AOS off. Every thing was easy with no problems. We had to go to a smaller office near the main immigration office. Now comes the long wait. I hope things will continue to move as fast they have been up to now.

On a side note the other day Su received a large package in the mail on the return address it said AOS and then the address. Wow another package from Immigration. We open it and start to read the cover letter and they were talking about Welcome to our family we are sure you will like it here.. Well the letter was from my insurance company at work and it was a welcome package telling her all about the benefits. In the fine print under the return address it said important information about you Adjustment of Service. AOS.

A question for the couples who have applied for the AOS. After they recieve your package how long before they deposit your check? We sent them the package two weeks ago and they recieved it the next day but stil no activity on my bank account. Is this normal?

Also does anybody have the number you can call to get more information since I hear that emails don't work to well.

Thanks
Su and Ray

I hope things are going well for you. I looked at my records and found that I made the check out and mailed it on 7/26/2006 and it was cashed on 8/9/2006. I hope this helps you.

Thanks yea that gives me some more information as to how long before I will see any action. Wow you were able to get your Green Card in only a few months that is great. How did you pull that one off? Congrats on that. Once again thanks for the info.

WOW: I just went and checked my account and they did deposit the checks. Let's hope everything else goes fast too.

Now I am really confused... I thought with a K1 Visa you must be married before the 90 day mark at that time the visa expires. Am I wrong... Please educate me.

dbirner thanks for the information and good luck with the new adventure.

Pom Kid Thung Khun Krap,

When the visa expires is not relevant to either getting married or applying for adjustment.

Yodrak

Hello All

Do you need to file for AOS before the visa expires or only get married? I seem to remember it is only get married.

Ray and Su,

Welcome back To Florida!
We found the best Thai food store. It is called the "Asian Market". It is 1 block north of Lantana Rd. on Military Trail on the west side. Me and Wi go once a week. Also the best Thai food is at a place called Chiyo Thai Bistro, just south of Atlantic Ave on Military Trail on east side in Delray Beach. A very nice Thai family owns it and Wi loves the food there. They are very kind and I'm sure Su will be glad to speak Thai from time to time.

Have fun!

Thanks for all the welcome home cheer.

As of now everything is going well Su is adjusting well and having a good time just rearranging everything in our home. I can't find anything any more. It not my house it's her's now.

Brent thanks for the advice on a market to shop at. We have found a few Thai markets we can go to just down the street form us. Also a great Thai restaurant the other day when we were there there was more Thai customers then non Thais so what does that tell you.

Brent in a earlier post you said that you live in Deerfield Beach. Would that be South Deerfield Beach? And would Crystal Lake mean anything to you???

CJ once again thanks if not for your express service Su would not be here now. I hope everything is going well for you and Jum. Su sends her best and hopes to meet again soon. I think we are planning a trip up to SC to visit some friends in the furture It would be great if we can get together. Also our door is always open if you find your way down here.

Thanks again all

Well we are here. Su and I arrived on May 11th at 12:50pm in NY. So far everything is going well and she is adjusting well. Still very tired and wants to sleep most of the time but all in all everything is good. She has tried to get in to our car from the driver side a few times and stops once she sees the steering wheel.

Went to a few stores to shop for food but everything is PANG! Then I took her to a Super WallMart you would think she was a kid in a candy store. She said that it was like Tesko Lotus.

All the funny things that has happen with other member (Like the eggs) has happen with us too.

Now it is time to plan the wedding and then the AOS.

Thanks to all

Su scanned in her Visa and sent it to me I noticed on the visa it had an annotation that said "MED" I tried to
look it up but had no results. The only thing I could find was something of the US Department of state web site that led me to believe that she may be quarantine at the POE. Has anyone seen something like this before on the visa...maybe it is normal. I even tried calling the Department of State but had no luck getting through. Does anybody have the answer?

Does it say anything after the "MED", such as class?

Yes it says:
Finance of Ray.....
Fingerprints Waived-Visa Class

Thanks for the heads up twellspeak
This is for a different type of visa, so i am not sure if it applies, but have a look. V Visa Medical Issues and Request for V Visa Annotations

All the forms are here for download on this site. They are in PDF format and if you have all the information with you. You can fill them out online then print them. It helps if they look neat. If you have Acrobat Pro you can save the forms to fill out at a later time. If you follow the check list on this site you should have no problems.

A few months ago as we started down this process I was worried about everything. "Is my income enough" "Do I need to have more money in the bank" "Should I hire a lawyer" and many more. All of that worry was not needed. At the time other member who had mad it through the interview and were well on the way to an AOS told me not to worry everything will be ok. Well now I find myself telling you this
"Don't Worry Everything Will Be Ok"

The only thing I have to worry about now is picking my socks up off the floor.

Ray

Ok I have a question. I may have missed this form an earlier day or another post.

My question is given the fact that all of us are trying to the right thing here and going about bringing our finances to the US. How do the rest of you feel about the recent immigration policy and the events in the news?

As many of you know Su passed her interview back on Feb 7th with Jum. She was waiting for the xrays and Dr reports before she could be cleared and given the Visa. Well after two months of emotional pain and several trips to the Dr and some meds I am happy to report everything is fine. The Dr will be sending the report to the Embassy and we will finally get our visa.

So if anyone else has a problem like this don't worry have faith and every thing will work out. I know it will be hard, because you can not get answers right away but let the Dr do his or her job and give it time.

For airtickets form Thailand take a look at Go Travel they are very fair and have a good service.
They are on Thonglor just NE of Sukhumvit. Not sure of the number but it is the only travel agent

Pom Kid Thung Khun Krap,

When are you going to explain to us the item you posted a few days ago about your fiancee's visa not being issued until she returned to the consulate with her x-ray?

Did she go back with the x-ray, and did they then issue her visa?

I am sorry I thought I did explain it. Well when the Dr was looking at her Xray he saw something on her Lung that was in question. There was Xray from when she was a child to compare it to. The Dr said that she will need to wait two months to see if the area grows. Since her interview was only two days away he told her to go to the interview and once he can clear her he will. So at the interview when asked for the Xrays she told the interviewer what the Dr said and they still did the interview. She passed and all we need to do now is wait the two months to get the clarence letter and Xrays from the Dr.

As for her situation once she was back in her home town of Hat Yai she went to a Dr there and he said that he did not see anything on the xrays and not to worry. She went back to the Dr a month later and had another Xray done. The Dr in BKK could still see something on her lung but it did not grow. So he gave her a CT scan. The CT scan did show something but it is not solid it is a old scar or infection. He put her on a strong dose of antibiotics that should clear it up.

The scary thing is that I am so far away form her and it is hard to understand all the issues with the Dr reports. I had her email them to me and I took a look at them and had some friends who are Dr's and in the medical field and they also said that it nothing to worry about.

I guess once this is all over there will be another issue to look for when K1er's are applying for the visa. I would say from what I have learned to get the medical as soon as possible. We had a chance when I was there in Nov 05 but did not. At this time I wish we had done it then.

This guy stickman can twist just about anything. Look the forms and process are simple. If you work together you should have no problems. I had a few questions about the forms and Su knew the answer. She had a few questions and I knew the answer. That what a husband and wife do. You work together.

Don't listen to his BS if you do you will be driving yourself nutzs. He only reports like that just to get a rise out of us.

Mike,

I agree. You have plenty of time before the interview. Just have Jass go back to the hospital and ask them to transcribe the results onto the newer forms. Even if they are reluctant at first, I'm sure a couple of hundred baht (or more ;) ) might persaude someone to get it done! I feel bad that I was the one that found the Japan forms in the first place, and over looked the fact they were expired, but I certainly wouldn't take the risk and try turning them in. Better to get the new forms now, instead of after they turn Jass away at "Window 5"!

Robert
[/quote]

Robert

I don't think Jass will get turned away at window #5. When my finance had her interview she did not have her xray films with her and they let her go through with the interview and passed with no problems. She just needs to provide the xrays before they will issue the visa. I have heard of simular problems in the past and all the Thai national needs to do is provide the RFE after the interview. If you have time and the way to fix the problem then fix it but I think you can sail through the interview.

Ton did her medical in Dec. and used only 3 forms which were from packet 3 that the consulate gave to her. She said even though it was only 3 forms, they total out to more than 3 pages. She doesn't remember exactly how many pages though.

I have to tell you this is really confusing. My fiance is closing her business and flying to BKK today to take care of the medical, post office fee and the police report. I feel like i may have given her bad advice and lead her down the wrong path IF she is denied her physical because of the forms that we printed off the web site. It would be a terrible waste.
This could all be avoided if the Embassy would let her pick up packet 3....will they still give it out on request?

Mike

Su printed all the forms off the web site and everything passed through fine with no problems. This could be like the lady at window number 5. Sometimes you get the nice one and sometimes you get the mean one.

The Dr did not include all the clarence letters needed in the package he sent with Su. The embassy did the interview with out it. So once the Dr sends over the missing parts she can pick up the visa. Not a real big problem.

As for Su and her interview we also had a successful interview. We were approved for the visa but still need a clarence letter from the Dr. It will take a little more time but hey we were approved.

Now as for the question about the lady at window #5 There are more then one women that run the window. Su told me that she talked to a different lady then the first time we were there. So I think we all are talking about different ladies.

So hopefully she will make some friends and adjust a little bit more easily. Yesterday we went to Thai Town which is a small section of Hollywood. She really enjoyed her self and things are getting much better now.

I felt like a parent watching my child go to school for the first time. I think everything will be ok :D

Hmm, I guess we can't post more that one message in a certain time frame. Don't know about you all, but I don't like that.

Have to agree, get a new I-134 together, get it notarized, and ship it there the fastest way possible. Granted, it may be overlooked, but why take the chance.

Pom Kid Thung Khun Krap,

You can't. Thailand is 9-12 hours ahead of the continental US in time so 'overnight' is possible only if the transport was instantaneous, but getting from here to there takes 15-18 hours or so. Then there's the in-country transport time at both ends.

That technicality aside, DHL and FedEx deliver to Thailand.
