Over 9,000 DOS agents across the US, DOS site lists all of them, don't be afraid to call and ask for their experience, within a 30 mile radius of my home, have over a dozen of them.  They make 25 bucks for reviewing your application, bring your kids with you with two passport photos and their applications filled out.  Some will give you a hard time, others are very nice, what the heck, making 75 bucks for a few minutes of work in your case.

 

Find it ironic that the DOS trust their agents in every respect, it is you, it is your photograph, except for making a copy of your certificate, that they want to see for themselves.  Surprised they don't want to see you and your kids.

 

The reason you are getting different answers on this same issue, based on the experience of one person dealing with one hard head.  Your kids are US citizens just like you are.  Crazy USCIS tells you this, but without any proof, that passport is proof.  Can pay an extra 600 bucks per kid with that N-600, to me it was worth it just to completely close the books with the USCIS.

 

You can also run into this same problem with the SS, happened to me last time with some idiot at the desk, next office was 75 miles away, didn't want to drive that far, so just asked to speak to his supervisor, then everything was okay.

 

If your kids are going to spend the rest of their lives here, feel its worthwhile for them to have their own certificate.  Unsure about that I-864, but know for sure its history after they get their certificate.

Submitted at the passport agency in Manhattan. I am guessing that they kept the applications together since there was only one CON.

In fact, when the passports cards ands passports were delivered, the numbers on them were sequential.

You can apply for all the passports at the same time. When I naturalized, I submitted the application for myself and my son at the same time with no probem

 

  how did you do with the CON?

what i read is that they need the original of all the application; but i will have one CON ant i want to submit the application for myself and my 2 children

or did they accepted photocopy of the CON on the children's application?

and where did you submitted your application?post office or courthouse? the 3 application will be separate?

If you move prior to the scheduled ceremony, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

I called Tier 2 Officer told me i was approved , but no change on website and no Oath for me yet =(

i do the same thing after i read your post;i call uscis today and talk with Tier 2 officer;he told me i was approved today , but no change on website and no oath for me yet (ny field office are very busy); i was approved one month after my interview;it i ridiculous

I had the same situation, got scheduled for oath exactly 7 days later..  My IO said they need to complete my file review but everything looks fine... You will be fine don't worry...

Hello everyone! I had my naturalization interview yesterday(new york).  The interview results said - You passed the test of English and U. S history and goverment and USCIS will send you a written decision about your application.  I'm worried because  the IO's checked box B - that say's A decision cannot yet be made about your application;  Is this something that I need to worry about?   Please help me guys.......

I apologize in advance if what I'm about to post seems dumb, but since you didn't provide any details with your question (perhaps there are no details to provide), I'll give you the simple answer that applies to most cases.

Go to http://www.uscis.gov/n-600 and see where they tell you to file. The information on that page is always up-to-date. 

That being said, is there anything about your case that would prompt you to think you shouldn't send your application to the Phoenix lockbox?

My son already has his US Passport and Passport Card but I decided to completely close the door with USCIS for him before his 18th birthday.  And, this way, if he ever needs this certificate, he will already have it in his possession.

 

Haven't gotten the receipt in the mail yet, but received the email notification yesterday with the receipt number.

 

All the previous threads that I have read say that the N-600 cannot be tracked online, i.e., no case status is ever available.  However, when I put in the receipt number, I am able to track the status.  For now (and who knows for long) it is in "Initial Review."

 

Initial Review

 

On May 6, 2013, we received this N600 APPLICATION FOR A CERTIFICATE OF CITIZENSHIP, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

 

Unfortunately, the processing time for this form in NYC is 9.6 months.

 

Now, I decided to file for this paper for my son.  I am not advocating either way for it.  It is just something I wanted to do for him (just in case).  The US Passport and Card that he already has is proof of his US Citizenship already.

 

The following is the list of items that I included with the application:

 

1.       Two identical passport photos (taken within 30 days)

  • Pencil name and A-Number on back of each

2.       Copy of child's birth certificate

3.       Copy of my birth certificate

4.       Copy of my marriage certificate

5.       Copy of my divorce decree

6.       Copy of my naturalization certificate, US passport (biographical page)

7.       Copy of child's Permanent Resident Card

Overview
The Child Citizenship Act of 2000 allows certain foreign-born, biological and adopted children of American citizens to acquire American citizenship automatically. These children did not acquire American citizenship at birth, but they are granted citizenship when they enter the United States as lawful permanent residents (LPRs).

What Are the Requirements of the Child Citizenship Act of 2000?
The child must meet the following requirements:

Have at least one American citizen parent by birth or naturalization;
Be under 18 years of age;
Live in the legal and physical custody of the American citizen parent; and
Be admitted as an immigrant for lawful permanent residence.
In addition, if the child is adopted, the adoption must be full and final.

What Is the Effective Date of the Child Citizenship Act?
The effective date of the Child Citizenship Act is February 27, 2001. Children who met these requirements on that date automatically became American citizens. Children who were 18 years of age or older on that date did not acquire American citizenship from the Child Citizenship Act of 2000.

What Happens When the Child is Adopted in the United States?
A child who enters the United States on an IR4 visa (to be adopted in the United States) will acquire American citizenship when the adoption is full and final in the United States.

How Does a Child Show Lawful Permanent Residence?
A child who has lawful permanent residence (LPR status) will have a permanent resident card (green card). Another way to show LPR status is the I-551 stamp in the child's passport. This stamp shows the child has entered the United States on an immigrant visa and/or has been admitted as a lawful permanent resident.

Must the Child Get a Certificate of Citizenship?
You do not have to apply for a certificate of citizenship for your child. If you want to apply for a certificate, please go to How to Get a Certificate of Citizenship for your Child for instructions.

How Does the Child Get a Passport Under the Child Citizenship Act?
You will need the following when the child applies for a passport:

Proof of the child's relationship to the American citizen parent. For the biological child of the American citizen this will be a certified copy of the foreign birth certificate (and translation if not in English). For an adopted child, it is a certified copy of the final adoption decree (and translation if not in English);
The child's foreign passport showing the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services in the Department of Homeland Security (USCIS) I-551 stamp in the passport, or the child's permanent resident card (green card);
Proof of identity of the American citizen parent(s)
Passport application, passport photographs and fees. Go to Passport Services for forms and full instructions.
Can My Child Get a Birth Certificate (Consular Report of Birth Abroad or CROBA) from the Embassy or Consulate?
No. Only a child who acquired citizenship at birth can get a birth certificate from an embassy or consulate.

Since your PD could become current in the next 2-3 months. Do the following (from my personal experience).PD 03/20/2011





1. the last monday my layer Send the scanned Birth certificate of my newborn(18 MONTH)to NVC to e-mail and ask them to add to the case. NVC ads and generates IV bill this friday. (we have a mail who saiy we have to paid iv for my newborn)
2. Pay the IV bill.

3. Send the DS-230 for newborn, Original BC, pictures and updated AOS to NVC to complete the case.
OR if you do not have time ask NVC to take the docs to the interview since the case is already added and you paid IV bill.i think not doc of newborn at interview if you dont paid a bill for iv (your newborn iv) to nvc

For me, NVC took 5 days to add my child and this week i will pay the bill and send the do for my newborn and updated AOS to NVC.

my husband will ask her citizenship in july 15 2013 but i think my pd wil be curent in july and i will go to usa with F2A categori becoz citizenship can take 3 to 6 months;

NB:
for the aded of our newborn,my spouse imposed at our lawyer to do that (email birthday daugter to nvc) becoz the lawyer filed an I130 for my newborn since october 2012 and we have not hear sign of uscis to the case;the lawyer refused but we inisted and he did it last monday and nv reply friday and the lawyer was suprised beause he don't hear about this not at all.
i think your priority date will be curent befor the citizenship of your spouse;

I have called twice after my interview on August 14; 19 august they said they will call me back and September 16 they said they will call me after they have completed AP; I was  aproved at interview and CO keep our passports (my two children and me) ,; ceac show READY  since interview date and never went to AP,. pass directly to ISSUED on September 27; date changed two times when i call them;
