1. On question 6./22.: currently employed:
My husband is employed by the university during the semester. But since it's summer break right now, he has another job which in the end he'll have had for like 4 weeks (two more weeks starting today). Should we even list this job? Do we have to? The information won't be valid much longer. My husband is not going to meet the 125% requirement anyway either way. So what should we do?

I would list any current employment even if he still doesn't meet the poverty requirement. You do not have to enter the information, but I think any form of income would be a help. That's what I would do anyway.

In your opinions, was i wrong for asking for my money back when she wouldn't come to bed? Should i continue to try to make this work when i am wondering if she cares?

Ms. Bong, not sure very many read the questions.

If you weren't so great in the sack, you shoulda deffo let her keep the money ;)

All kidding aside...why are you asking us?? Seriously, you're old enough to know that you've already made your mind up, so just feel for your stones and do whatever it is you want.

Feel for your stones? That's sound advice Lisa. :jest:

genem,

It seems to me that your mind was already made up before you posted your question. Do what YOU feel is right. But, don't tell people that they are "thinking that they are God" for simply giving an opinion which you asked for. I wish you luck in life whatever happens, I hope it is good for you.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresevidence of meeting in person

Hi.. sorry for so many posts

I met my fiance while I was living in Colombia. We went to college together. What would be good evidence that we met while I was living there (I lived in Colombia most of my life), besides pictures. I have my plane tickets, credit card receipts, ... that shows that I have traveled after I left colombia, but that would show an ongoing relationship.

I'm thinking maybe of university transcripts that shows that we were enrolled in the same university, pictures, somes emails and chats.. anything else?

thanks for your help!

I got this information from the K1 guides. You will find the guides at the top of the page on the blue bar. They will probably answer a lot of your questions for you.

1. Copies of all airline boarding passes, train passes, itineraries, hotel receipts, passport stamps (make sure you can read the dates on the stamps), and other documentary evidence that you have met within the last two years. You may want to highlight or place post-it notes indicating the dates and locations on the copies (to make the adjudication easier) for the person reviewing your file.
2. Color Photo's of you and your fiance(e) together. Make sure you write your names, date, and location on the back of every photo. Provide two to five photo's. If you only have a single copy of the photo, then make a color copy and send that. If it is a digital photo, have it printed at a company such as kodakgallery.com. You can also make duplicates of photo's at your local photo store (Walgreeens, CVS, etc). Place photo's in a plastic bag or photo sheet and label the sheet. Note that you may not receive originals of photo's back.
3. The following items will not typically show proof of having met in the last two years however will show proof of an ongoing relationship: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

Most people do it themselves unless they have a complicated case where an attoney would be required. You'll find a lot of information on here if you read the faqs and guides at the top of the page. You will find information on applying for the K-1.

i wish i knew someone, I am pretty much a loner. and my closest family has financial trouble
by the way how do you find out if you meet the poverty guidline?
a lawyer told me I had to be making 22,000$ for the last 3 years with tax records to prove

The lawyer is wrong. If you can provide evidence that your current income is sufficient, then you qualify to sponsor your fiance(e). It's good to provide three years tax returns but not required unless you are self employed. Even then, there may be ways around it.

Start by reading the instructions for the I-134 affidavit of support, then come back with any specific questions. The income requirement depends on how many people are in your household and your State of residence. See here:

http://travel.state..../info_1327.html

happy i came to this forum that goes to show you not to take 1 opinion even if hes considered a professional
so if i just show some pay checks with my charts of hours worked i will qualify?

You still need to show proof that you filed the last 3 years tax returns. Usually the last year is the one that is most important.

Your best to try and find a co-sponsor, or meet the poverty guidlines yourself by working more and getting more income. Also if you have any assets they can also be included to meet the requirements.

I have two questions; do we have to wait for one from Egypt before sending the visa application and is the one from NYS good enough or does it have to be from overall US, he was residing in NY)

How and where did you find the record of your calls using the calling card. I too have been using calling card I bought online for the past four months.
Thanks

Man i am so happy now i have been worried about this being i only have a few emails being i usually use the phone. my problem so i thought is that i use a pre paid calling card (IDT). well found out i could find my billing records online so now i have phone records. now for evidence i have the following, already got my NOA1 so hopefully this will be enough for the interview. Unfortunately i dont have any boarding passes anymore. Anyway you think this will be enough. Passport stamps from both our passports,, she is from colombia and we where living in Indonesia for some time so we have stamps on both our passports for indo, then living together for 1.5 years in ecuador have those stamps. i am basing most my evidence off of passport stamps but now happy about phone records :D I really think the Indonesia stamps will help not a common destination or easy destination to get to from Colombia. I know a bit wordy but you think i have enough? Plus a ton of photos, of me fat, then skinny, goatee, no goatee, her with long her short hair tan not tan. just a bit nervous about this.

thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCASE APPROVED AND NVC CONFIRMS RECEIPT
NVC receives thousands of telephone and written inquiries from applicants, petitioners, congressional offices, U.S. embassies and consulates, CIS offices and the White House. An automated recorded message system can answer many of these inquiries 24 hours a day, seven days a week (603 334-0700). Operators are available to respond to more difficult inquiries from 7:30 AM to 12:30 AM (EST) Monday through Friday. Status of case information and access to an operator can only be provided by entering your NVC case number or CIS receipt number on a touch-tone telephone. Case inquiries can also be made via email at NVCINQUIRY@state.gov. NVC only has information on petitions it has received. If our automated service does not recognize the CIS file or receipt numbers you entered, most likely we have not yet received your petition. In addition, answers to commonly asked questions can be retrieved through an automated e-mail response system.

I was at the library yesterday, and found this book. For most of us, who have already started the process,
it is still good reading, to see if you made any mistakes. The writer is an Immigration lawyer. There are copies of all the completed petitions, with advise for just about every situation.
For all the new people who have just started the process, it might not hurt to look in your nearest library for a copy.
I looked on Amazon.com. They are also available there.

True you can no longer get email noitification. However you can email the NVC at NVCInquiry@state.gov (be sure to put the NVC case number and beneficiary's name in the subject line) You can also call the automated telephone line 24 hours a day 7 days a week 1-603-334-0700. You can speak with a person Mon thru Fri 7:30am to midnight.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPriority date has typo

Our paperwork has a priority date of Jan 2005, which is obvisiously a typo as we did not even file until Sept 2005. Is this a problem? we are now at NVC waiting for interview in Montreal... NVC says "shouldn't be a problem" they can not change it USCIS has to.. Should I contact them?? We really don't need anymore delays, especially at this point

I had this exact same issue with my CR-1... and it did slow us down, for about two or three weeks. I too was told on the phone that it wasn't a problem... yet it was.
Our priority date was SUPPOSED to be January 25, 2005, but when they filled out our NOA2 in Vermont, it stated "June 25, 2005", which at the time hadn't even HAPPENED yet. I found out right away, and called both NVC and USCIS and was told it wouldn't be a problem, blah, blah, blah... Then I started to see on VJ that people were getting their Assignment of Agent form, and I wasn't, and I called and got a strange recording, and was finally told after about four calls to NVC that they had to forward my paperwork to the Department of State in DC for approval ("additonal administrative processing"). After pulling teeth, they did confirm it was an issue with a priority date. I then called USCIS, threw a temper tantrum because it was their fault, and got a fax number for VSC, and was told to write them there with ATTN: SUPERVISOR and let them know of the problem. I did this for three or four consecutive days, then got an ammended NOA2 (two of them actually), and things got back on track.
So, yeah, while it may not be a big deal, and the people on the phone assured me it wouldn't matter, I still had my file pended for administrative processing in DC. However, NVC cautght this right at the beginning (assuming because when they tried to enter the date into the computer, it kicked it out as the date hadn't arrived yet). This was also for a CR-1, so the process was a bit different.... Hopefully, things will go smoothly for you...

Jayke Thank you..we are for the CR-1 also... do you by any chance still have the fax number so I can fax it as well? That would be a tremendous help!!!
