National Visa Center (Dept of State)Interview date finally scheduled!
Hi everyone, im super excited now, we just got an email from NVC stating that they have completed our case and now it's forwarded to US Embassy in Tokyo.
And what's most exciting is that my interview date is scheduled on October 9th! woo hoo!
I didnt expect it to happen so quick!

Now my concern is what the consular officer will ask me at the interview...

My husband and I have a long history together so i shouldnt worry so much, but i cant help it...(many of you must know exactly how i feel...lol)

"How many questions did they ask you at the interview and what are the questions you didnt expect to be asked?"

I'm sure it all depends on the consular officers and its case by case...
I would greatly appreciate if any of you who have had your interviews already could tell me what they asked you at your interviews..

Thanks for your time in advance =)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPolice Certificate
when u request the Police Certificate at Police Department, they usually ask you which country ur submitting the documents to as well as what the situation is for, and they will make the certificate in the corresponding language which is English. so u dont need to worry about translating it at all, u just need to forward it "SEALED" to NVC along with all other required documents =)
hope everything goes well with ur case!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIV package sent and fees bill showed Rejected
ur supposed to print out the coversheet only when the online payment status says "PAID" so i dont think NVC will process the packet anyways...
NVC will send you NOA to let u know that they received ur IV packet but i'd say, for now keep calling them, one operator says different things than others, to make sure u speak to several operators to get the right advice from them.
i hope everything goes well with ur case, good luck!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresRe-apply for ESTA in the process of CR-1
Hello everyone!
my husband and I have been going through CR-1 process since last December and this VJ has been helping us so much ALL THE TIME!
thank u!!!

well we're in the middle of NVC step for now, we got NOA2 but still havent submitted AOS packet.
now i'm planning to visit my sister in US with my family from Japan where we originally live, and stay there for 4 days.
but i wont be seeing my husband due to his military work schedule.. =(

my ESTA has expired in last November so i need to re-apply for it.

my question is: is it okay to apply ESTA again while in the process of CR-1? would it risk our case in any way??

i really hope someone can give me some information on this matter..

thank you so much for reading my topic!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresinterview one day before our 2-year wedding anniversary
Hi everyone, our case is finally done with NVC step and now its been forwarded to the Embassy in Tokyo.
We couldn't make it this far without everyone's help and generous advises, so thank u!

now, i will have my interview on October 9th, which is the day before our 2 year wedding anniversary, and the letter we got from NVC states "CR-1" as "preference category," which is understandable.
But then, i do want to know, if there's any chance for me to get IR-1 visa instead of CR-1.

If everything goes well at the interview, will my visa be issued on the same day, or will it take a couple of days to be issued and mailed out?
If the latter, the visa will be issued after our 2 year wedding mark, which means i will get IR-1 visa?

I should be happy that everything has been going on smoothly and with whatever I get, I should be thankful for it.
But CR-1 and IR-1 makes so much difference in terms of future process, so I would love to get IR-1, if it's possible.

I'm thinking about asking the consular officer directly at the interview, but just wanted to see, if there's anyone who got IR-1 even before your 2 year wedding anniversary, even though the letter stated you would get CR-1?

I hope everyone's visa-related process goes with no further delay so that you will get to see your loved ones and start new life together.

Thank you!
