My 5 months will be up very shortly (NOA Aug. 9)- I agree with your plan of action.

About calling back if one officer is not helpful- I will share this. I was getting absolutely nowhere with a Tier 2 Officer (see my prior conversation on this thread)- so I tried calling back and lo and behold, just my luck, my call was escalated to the same officer. I mean come on- really?!?! What were the odds?!?! :bonk:

Making an infopass appointment had also occurred to me- unfortunately my job doesn't allow for time off during a weekday, and I can't imagine them being open on a weekend. :( If you or anyone knows for sure that an infopass appointment has gotten results, then I'll seriously have to think of requesting time off of work.

I'm going to schedule an appointment next week. I'll post here and let y'all know how it goes.

Another approval from september, Just Great!!!!!

I try not to go on the main forum page so I won't have to see those approvals. This is the situation we're in and seeing that kinda stuff doesn't help- at least that's how I feel.

Well, just got off the phone with USCIS, after following the instructions given to me by a Tier 2 rep last week.

Here is the newest information I received from my Tier 2 rep as of tonight..

1. The service request is still being processed.
2. Our case was given a priority date at TSC of Nov.1, but the information was not formally entered into the system until November 23. This being the case, TSC has 90 days in which to work the information as given, so based on the information, I was told approx. that the case would be adjudicated in or around Feb. 23.
3. Apparently a lot of cases were entered into the system at TSC by November 23. And most of them are now being worked. No other information was available in the system at this time.

I also found out that when you call the Customer Service Line, you could be talking to a CSR anywhere in 45 field offices in the US. Most Tier 2 are located in Los Angeles. They also only identify themselves by there last name and there ID number.

When I asked about the processing dates that TSC were working on, the Tier 2 rep explained that there was no definite date they were working on there at this time. They were working on the cases as entered into the system. This was information to me, and I wanted to share it with all of you.

So, that is the just of my conversation with the Tier 2 rep. My Tier 2 rep also advised that if you are feeling left out, contact your US Senator, or your US Congessperson as soon as possible, to assist you in the process.

That's it everyone, sorry I don't have more for ya.

Thomas

Thanks a lot for this, Thomas. So Feb 23, eh? I think I can deal with that, IF it really turns out that way. Geez louise...

60 days is the uscis standard ruling. once you submit a s.r. you have to wait a minimum 60 days before requesting another.

not sure if these number work, or will be of any help for that matter, but a bit of digging, i came across these:

California (CSC) fax number: 1-949-389-8070 and 1-949-389-8689

Texas (TSC) fax number: 1-214-962-2632

and then theres the CIS Ombudsman. has anyone called them?

http://www.dhs.gov/f...orial_0497.shtm

Ooh, thanks for these. But I don't even know what I would fax...

You're right though - something major HAS happened, as even senators cannot get through. Our latest call to a very nice Tier 2 person, when confronted with the lack of action on our expedite was that he couldn't believe why it hadn't been dealt with. Another officer told us that she would fax Texas on our behalf, and then said "Mmm - that's weird, they have removed the TSC fax number". Very strange, and worryingly puzzling. We hope now for a miracle of batch approvals.....

Yes, we were told three weeks ago they were working on July 17th petitions....

My senator's office should be contacting me soon and I am curious as to if they will have any luck getting through to TSC.

I'm not sure either but it seems like it would send some sort of red flag which would delay the case even more.

Yeah, probably. The optimist inside of me wants me to believe that all of us hounding TSC will make them hurry up.

Why would you wanna start over? Do you want to pay USCIS again? For what???? Remember March and April filers, they were in the same situations as we, but finally got approved, so I am sure we will hear good news soon!!!!

Really? March and April filers were transferred to TSC last year? I never heard of this. Hmmm.

Just spoke to a level 2 rep. He said my case is outside normal processing and he opened up a service request for me. He says my case is in "Final Review" and I should have a decision in 2wks on the case. He said to call back if I don't hear anything within this 2 wk period. So, let's see what happens.

Much luck.

I am in the same boat as all July/August filers. I have been reading everyones comments re the transfers. The thing is if another six months passes and nothing happens, what should we do?
Who can we take our grievances to if no approval comes? Are we all just knocking our heads at a closed door? Is anyone at USCIS going to try and tackle this mess that we never created? Should we start over since everyone after August seems to be getting through? This is an enigma I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. The fact that we cant get an honest answer is not only disheartening but a disgrace. My patience regarding this process is gone.Posted ImagePosted Image

Those are the exact questions that I have. I kinda want to re-file but with my luck it would get transferred again and I'd continue to live in hell.

six months and 1 day for me, this is some kind of bullshit. I would love to scan my notice of transfer and show them the part that says my petition was transferred in order to speed up processing. Speed up processing on what? September and October filers? Sure as hell didnt mean any of our petitions

I'm waiting to see what the numbers look like on the USCIS for November for the chart that shows volume trends. I wonder what kind of b.s. # they're gonna throw up there.

I'm here to join all the angry mob against being transferred and waiting too dang long. My NoA1 was Aug 9th, got transferred to TSC and then they notified me yet again with this email:

"*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

The last processing action taken on your case

Receipt Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Your Case Status: Initial Review

The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

The difference being there is no date like it said before. I was hoping this ment they were actually looking at my case and not saying, "hey it's in our office and we'll get to it when we can" cause they already told me that. My wife is getting ready to work overseas and that means a 1-2year contract, she can't go back to the philippines and get an interview if it's approved. I hope we get notice soon because this is getting redicuouls, almost 5 months and no apporval.

Welcome to the mob.
I suggest making a service request after your 5 months are up. Not sure if they do any good but it can't hurt.

Yes, I got the same response. You can try again, I'm just sick of it personally. They do not have a clear answer, they are just wasting the money of the taxpayers pretending that they do their job, they do not do their job, that service should be eliminated because it is ineffective. I don't believe in the effectiveness of those service requests either, they do it so you guys will give them peace for a few weeks. Actually, everything that we do - those emails, calls, senators - does not affect TSC, they do not care about all that #######.

I emailed TSC again. However, this time I also emailed California Service Center just in case. Imagine that, someone replied within minutes (not a robot, a human being) from CSC saying that my case is out of their jurisdiction so they cannot provide any information on it. And what about TSC? Of course, silence!

Better to do something than to do nothing. What have you got to lose, really? Except time.

Oh, and I got completely different information this time as well. I was out of the 14 day processing time so they put in a request for me (first agent said 60 days).

Such bs....I asked about why people are getting approved in September and they said the same ####### about some cases taking longer. Im pretty pissed off right now.

I'd say call again. The first time I called the agent said to call after my 5 months was up to put in a service request. The second time I called the agent did just that.

Thanks Val and Gary for the clarification.

I think it's shortsighted to think that FBI/Interpol checks are routinely performed in relatively short periods of time for all individuals. Common sense dictates that that time frame will vary from one person to the next.

To give you an idea of how long a mere background check takes WITHIN the U.S. for a U.S. citizen, consider the following- when applying for a license to practice medicine in any given state, the (very thorough) background check takes an average of about 3 months.

So imagine the levels of checks that must be occurring on an international scale.

All things considered, there simply is no way that emotionally editorializing scattered facts mixed with fiction will allow for any healthy discourse. To me, it's becoming clearer everyday that we're not going to be provided any thorough, detailed, and reliable explanation as to what has been transpiring with our individual applications, both before and after the CSC-TSC transfer, at least for the first 6 months from what I have been seeing.

As unfortunate as this is, it's nonetheless a reality we're all dealing with together.

Like some of you guys, once my 5 months are up I'll follow suit and pursue a Service Request, perhaps contact my Senator, and whatever else you guys may have been told to do by your respective legal counsels.

I'm hoping for the best outcomes for myself and all of you :D

Peace.
(L)

Good info.
But I haven't even been alive that long so I don't know how long it would take for them to complete the background check on me. Sorry, I'm complaining again. But, alas, I feel more hopeful than before.

just when i thought we had all planned out, huge roadblocks thrown up. feeling pretty hopeless and major depression has set in.
my husband made plans for me to come there rather than deal with massive wait time for visa then AP (months or even possibly years). he was looking for land to build a home there and we thought everything would be fine.
then the family factor kicked in... his family hates americans, he says he can protect me so i continued to plan to sell everything to move there. he made promise we would be living FAR from them. then the threats start. i've been documenting it in case something happens to me here and know without a doubt i would never be safe there. he is not safe there, they threaten him and taunt him "who is gonna protect you? you think the usa police are gonna come to save you when you call the police on us?" the humiliation and threats and manipulation is just too much.
i've also had some crazy thoughts and ideas ... it would be so much more easy if there wasnt love... it's ripping my heart out and making me crazy :crying:

FULL OF ####### POSTERIOR CAVITY

This is what those people working for USCIS don't understand- that this delay is hurting us both physically and emotionally. I know my plans will probably go straight to hell but it's the only thing I can do to not lose the rest of my sanity.

I've updated my plan of attack (in my mind): so this service request thing takes 30 days (or so they say), and in 30 days I highly doubt anything will get done. After those 30 days are up I'm just going to make an appt to go to my local office through InfoPass. That's the only thing I can think of to do in February.
I do have another idea that's kinda crazy but I'm gonna keep it to myself for now- if the times get tougher than I might have to take a stab at it.

hello
I called and put in a request to have them check into my cases earlier in december as my 5 months were up Dec 5th and I was transfered to texas from CSC, today i received the letter from them.....

letter stated they were working on case but had to look into it more and if I didn't hear anything in 7 to 9 months to call back......this just goes to show how useless a government bureaucracy is.....i sure hope we never actually end up with government run health care.....dear sir,you have cancer please call back in 7 to 9 months if your not feeling better. but anyway i digress ...letter looked like a form letter though and I'm hoping they are just incompetent and telling me a line...either way this is very frustrating.

Have you had any luck contacting your senators? I'm sure all of us who made service requests are going to receive that exact same letter. What a bunch of idiots. I don't know why I had higher expectations.

Ok, this is exactly what I did:
Call USCIS customer service line
Press 1 for English
Press 2 to find out information on case
Enter receipt number
Automated voice will tell you the current status of case (what's on the website).
Press 3 (I think) to call in a problem with your case.
You will then be transferred to an agent.
I told him what was happening and how it's out of the normal processing time.
The agent took my information and made a service request.
--> Write down the agent # and the referral #.
Agent said that the office should contact me within 30 days. If they don't, I should call back.

You're about the third person to have this happen to- has anyone that has been approved from TSC received an NVC case #? That's what I'm wondering..

USCIS Expedite Criteria

All expedite requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and are granted at the discretion of the Director. The criteria are as follows:

* Severe financial loss to company or individual
* Extreme emergent situation
* Humanitarian situation
* Nonprofit status of requesting organization in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States
* Department of Defense of National Interest Situation (Note: Request must come from official United States Government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to our Government)
* USCIS error
* Compelling interest of USCIS

as soon as you get their automated voice mail choose English as the language you want and then hit *1 this will take you straight through to customer service, then you will have to listen to their STUFF.....which will be a total waste of your time.....when they are done, tell them you need to speak with an officer or a level 2 person. open a service request immediately if you don't have one already. I am absolutely DISGUSTED with the way this whole Texas thing is being handled. We have been totally screwed for time I am certain. Gary and I have been approved for EXPEDITE and the 23rd is our five month date. THis is giving me an ulcer. Good luck to you.

I will do just that, thanks, Val.

I do not see any point in contacting senators. I got replied from senators stating that it takes 60 to 90 days to process after case has been transferred. I called uscis and they opened a service request for me. I think service request might be the best options at this point. Let me know your thoughts on this issue.

So I have (yet another) question: if I call USCIS and get through to an actual person, do I just ask for a service request? Or do I have to beat around the bush first?
