Nice work  I don't even want to know how long it took you to get all this done.

I wonder if there is a media story in this? Could it be worth getting this information and analysis to a journalist interested in DACA?

I have studied the medical information more than anything else. There's plenty I don't know, but I have read volumes on medical.

oops sorry! frustrating that the official information we are given to prepare for the interview is outdated!!!Thanks for the info!

United KingdomLondon Medical - Knightsbridge Doctors

Hi everyone,

I have my medical finally scheduled for a week on Monday - and I am starting to feel abit nervous about the whole experience.

I was wondering if anyone could provide some advice on the following questions:

Hosiptalization - does this include over night stays or day cases? And does this include childhood admission? Will I need a GP's letter about admission to hospital? I have a letter from the doctor who removed a mole in June (day case) not my GP stating no cancer and no follow up. But I also had a nose operation in 2003 for a deviated septum (overnight), wisdom teeth in 1997 (overnight) and squint operation in 1979. Do you think I will need to provide a GP's letter for this?

The problem is I have no NHS notes before 2012 as they have all been lost. I returned to my family doctors who had my notes from 1996 - 2003 saved on the computer. Will this be a problem?

Sorry if I am over worrying - help would be appreciated!

Thank you!

United KingdomImmunisation records lost

Monday passed (16th Sept) and slight delay in second round of jabs, as the flu jab was not in stock until the end of September. so second jabs three weeks on Monday (21st Oct)  and am hoping to book a medical for that week on Monday (crossing fingers flu jab does not make me sick!).

We are going to go past our date on packet three (4th Nov) for visa issue but that was always likely given that we only received packet three instructions on 9th September and had a few problems with gathering the address info for the police certificate (we are awaiting this now). This is fine I believe as long as we revalidate this with another signed statement (90 days intent to marry) before interview?

Thanks everyone. I spoke to my practice nurse and I have been given DTAP, MMR 1 and will  have MMr2 and flu in a few weeks, just before my medical. The jabs are free - I suspect because my records were lost. Thanks for your advice - I was really worried!

United KingdomImmunisation records lost

Hi everyone,

we are pulling together all the documentation for our interview. My doctor's surgery has informed me that my immunisation history has been lost and I now have no proof of what immunisations I have had previously. Will I need to have all the childhood immunisations again or will I just need the relevant jabs for adults?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated,

Thank you!

United KingdomSSN

I got married first and had no issues, I took passport, I-94, and marriage cert. I also took, just in case, the document that is recommended in the SSN guide which shows which classes of visa can apply for an SSN and it shows a K1 can. I did not need it but took it in case i got a dork at the office.

I went in Thursday and my card arrived on the following Monday.

The stuff about turning in to a K3 is nonsense.

Hi Nobbie - did you go to the office in Baltimore? I ask as we will be living in baltimore - and getting married in Annapolis :)

United KingdomNOA2 expiry date

we missed our noa2 expiration date - partly as our noa2 arrived two months after it was dated! so we always knew we were going to go past the noa2 deadline.

it hasn't been a problem so far - we completed the documentation needed before the noa2 deadline but scheduled the medical for after this date, so we had enough time to get needles and the police certificate. my fiancé has supplied a certified letter of intent to marry for the interview.  you should be fine to complete the relevant documentation before the noa2 deadline but delay scheduling the medical, so that it is six months before your departure date.

good luck!

United KingdomWho is waiting for an interview date?

It's kind of selfish of me but I'm getting pretty bummed out seeing people get their interview dates so quickly. While I am happy for those of you getting your interview dates set so quickly (1 day!?) after your medical I cant help but feel it is unfair to people like me who have been waiting since the end of September and still don't have an interview date.

I recieved my NOA2 on 26/09, sent documents on 27/09 and had medical on 28/09. My CEAC status was updated on 2/10 and DOS have confirmed that my documents were received & processed that day. The CEAC status was updated again on 23/10 but no one can tell me why. I called the DOS again today and they confirmed no interview has been scheduled yet. I'm slightly concerned because my USCIS decision expires on 25/11 and I don't really know what happens if I don't have an interview before that.

So very tired of waiting now. Hopefully something happens soon...

I really hope your interview is scheduled quickly. I understand your frustration - our noa2 got stuck in nvc for two months. we received it dated july 4th in early September. we then had hold ups with medical information. its such a hard process of waiting. wishing you a interview date very soon:)

United KingdomWho is waiting for an interview date?

hey we got our interview date today. very strange goings on - I only sent the necessary letter from g.p to knightsbridge doctors on Monday afternoon and apparently on the very same day, the embassy scheduled my appointment and sent out the letter. today my fiancé called the department of state to check (we were not expecting an interview so quickly) and we were told our interview has been scheduled for the 20th November, with the letter sent out on Monday 4th! low and behold there was an interview letter waiting for me when I came home from work. who knew the embassy could be this efficient?

I am not sure if I have done this and reading some of your experiences regarding letters not been sent out to late in the day, this sounds like a good idea :)

United Kingdomhow much relationship prove should i take to my interview

I worried like you. I read that London doesn't ask for evidence usually  but that a few people had been asked. so I printed out Skype logs, emails and even whats app messages. printed out more pictures and even took personal cards. I didn't need anything - the person who interviewed me had the 129f photos we had sent and was looking through them as he spoke to me but asked for no evidence. still it helped ease my  nerves,

They can accommodate this - I originally was taking two cats (my other cat became sick before the journey and could not fly - he will return with me) - and they were able to manually book this in. The choice is that both cats can travel in hold or one can travel as carry on, with the other in hold. I also took two cases. My cats were too big to travel as carry on anyway - so booked both into hold. Call them first to confirm you can take two cats - they will check the space on the plane you want to take and confirm there is space - then book your ticket and call back to reserve the hold spaces for the cats. You will pay in cash at the airport for the extra bag and cats on the day you travel. I can dig the prices out for you if if helps?

Thanks for your advice how do I go about getting the pet passport? Is it a long process then?

Its fairly easy - allow at least a month before you wish to travel. Find out if your Vet is licenced to produce the EU passport - if so, you can book your cat in for his/her jabs. He/She will need to have a chip and a rabies jab which needs to be administered AT LEAST three weeks before travel and all regular immunisations should be upto date. The vet will produce a EU passport.

In order to travel - the Vet will need to stamp and sign the certificate of health section in the back of the passport not more than 10 days before travel. All major carriers accept the EU passport.

You can take your cat without the passport but you will still need to have a rabies jab and obtain a certificate of health (fit to travel). The cost of which is often more than getting a EU passport. And the benefit of obtaining the passport is that should you need to bring the cat back to the UK, it will be easier as long as the Rabies jab is kept upto date.

If you have any questions please do feel free to send me a message :)

I just called Virgin and they quoted me £375 for my cat which is the minimum cost (i estimated travel date as sep-dec) so must range on time of year you are travelling too. They only accept IATA approved carriers and she recommended Atlas, and Pet Mates

That's a good quote especially as it will be a direct flight. Lufthansa is cheaper but will involve a change in Frankfurt or Munich (70 euros in cabin/ 150 euros in hold). IATA regulations too but nobody really checked this and neither did they check my cats documents in the uk or USA. Does your cat have a EU pet passport? If not I would recommend starting that process now - rabies jab is definitely reccomended! We purchased the Vari Kennel - which was great.

I would strongly reccomend Lufthansa for dogs and cats - they are extremely professional, still allow smaller animals in cabin international and are the most fairly priced airline. My cat flew to DC with me a few months ago and it was very easy!

CanadaStaying with the same company - transfer? on K1 visa

I waited until we had the k1 approval and now my company are looking into the options - so I understand a little of your dilemmas!. you could go on a sabbatical for three months (unpaid leave) - so technically you wouldn't be giving up your job (you remain employed in Canada for three months but do no work) and after the three months you could then be transferred...benefit of this is your length of service would not be broken, you do not need to be rehired and the EAD may come through faster than the stated three months ...

it seems to take a bit longer on the Australian side than the uk side. we applied in February and was received our noa2 in mid july but did not get notification from the embassy until early September (about six weeks). its taken me sometime to get the police checks and immunisations done - but I think realistically the earliest we could have received an interview was mid October - and we are looking at late November. so in total here its been 9 - 10 months from application to interview.

also worth remembering is the six months date on the visa starts from the date of the medical - not the date of the visa interview.

wishing you lots of luck!

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anybody had advice on marriage timings once I have arrived at the poe. We would like to get married quickly at a courthouse and then plan a family celebration with a bit more time to plan together.

I thought I had read somewhere there was a paperwork reason to wait a few weeks. Can we get married as soon as I arrive or is there a reason we may need to wait?

Thank you for your help :)

CanadaHelp with my RFE

Hi. Me and my fiance just got a RFE and we do not know what to send them. Originally we sent them photographs, facebook chats and letters from friends saying that they have met both of us. in our RFE it says that photographs are secondary evidence of us meeting and facebook chats are not proof. I live in windsor and am a Canadian citizen so i dont have any plane tickets or passport stamps because I am canadian they do not stamp passports. I called the border and they told me I can not get records of me crossing. I was wondering wat can I use for evidence? I am stuck. We have a planned trip we will be going on but its only in my fiances name. Also my bank statements dont show where I have been in the states just sjows the currency exchange rates. I am lost and have no idea what i can send o them that will be good enough that we have met in person. I have been coming to visit her often and all we reall have is photographs but apperently thats just secondary evidence. any info or insight would be great.
