US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDuplication required when submitting I-134??

She'll want originals of the form, copy of the tax return, original of employer letter, and copies of pay stubs and bank statements, as well as a letter from your bank (my bank faxed me my letter, they didn't mail those, so hopefully that's fine too).

Thanks for your reply

I am sending my I-134 to my future spouse in the Philippines. Do I need to make copies of documentation in this packet or do they need just the originals? PS - she has no children, just her. Thanks Dave

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionUpdated I-134

If there is no sponsor, there's no need to put anything there. A great guide is the example forms that VJ provides! Here's the one for the I-134.

http://www.visajourn.../Form-I-134.pdf

Thank you. The example you listed (form expired 5-31-2010) is slightly different and I just want to be certain what I need to fill out since it is not exactly the same. Has anybody filled out the latest edition/form?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionUpdated I-134
I am filing out the I-134 form (expires 5-31-2011) and I am not clear on one particular section. At the bottom, page 2, under 'Oath or Affirmation of Sponser' there is a box, highlighted in light blue. It is just after the words...' and the Food Stamp Act, as ammended'. The instructions, in PDF, do not mention this box. What do I put in this space/box? Thanks for any help... - Dave

PS I have no other sponser... just myself.

I feel bad bcoz after my interview this morning they give me blue slip and ask for joint sponsor
the saddest part is that even family are not willing to help....

I am sorry to hear that fellow VJ, my family would not support/sponsor either. Hopefully it doesn't happen to me either. Good luck with the process. - Dave

PhilippinesMy Medical in ST Lukes Manila Philippines

Hi there,
I had my medical examinations last Aug 3, 2010 and since medical is for 2 days, Im finally finished with my medical just yesterday, THANKS GOD. Hope this could help my fellow filipinas or kabayan on the medical process:

You have to bring the following:
-passport not just a photocopy
-3 pcs 2 by 2 picture white background
-email confirmation for the schedule of interview (make a 2 copies)
-black pen
-NVC letter showing your Manila case number then you need to photocopy it

I arrived in SLMC around 6:45am and got 195 as my number...so really there are lot of people there. Upon entering the place, you need to show the guard your passport, your NVC letter then they will give you a form to fill up and a number. After a long wait for my number 195, they will check the documents you have, they will also take a photo of you and a finger scanning. Then you need to go to the 5th floor using the elevator and pay the cashier, i pay 9,814.10 then youll go next to the 4th floor then give your receipt to the reception in laboratory, they would extract blood then give you a urine container so youll have your urine sample. Please take note also of your LMP (last mestrual period) Then you'll go to the 3rd floor for xray, need to removes the upper part of your clothes (t-shirt and bra) if yuou have long hair make sure you have a clip and no jewelries since this would affect your xray result. The next would be the 2nd floor for your physical examinations, for the physical examinations, you need to remove evrything including panties and bra (shy here) and attending doctor will ask you lots of questions regarding your health. After that for immunization interview: here please make sure if you got a chicken fox before, try to find a scar and doctor will asked for it then thats the end of the myfirst day around 2:30pm

My next day, I go directly to 2nd floor for immunization, I only got 2 (MMR and for tetanus)Im a medical technologist so I know I have some of the vaccines needed but if you dont have some vaccines, they would give it to you anyway its included in the payments. Then the last part, on the first floor for the releasing wherein they will get your passort and they would only give you your xray copy in a form of CD and a vaccination record and THATS IT!! Goodluck fellow kabayan....wish me luck on my interview this Aug 16 7am

I will copy and paste this info for my fiancee, it will be helpful for her.... good luck with the process and your future life together. Salamat, Dave

I admit I was nervous the first time I went to Davao (Digos and Guihing, Haganoy. A lot of Filipinos told me do not go alone. Also, some of the stories I heard in the media, a while ago now, were not that positive. But having been there I can say I do like it better than Manila. The people are very friendly and I had no problems at all during my visit. If I were to move and live in PI I think I would choose Davao, the traffic is lighter and less congestion. - Dave

Hi DaRoq, I am sure it will be different for me in the beginning and may change as we spend more time together. I am def. not used to the attention, I have taken care of myself for so many years. I will just try to remind myself that it is her way of caring. Nothing wrong with being a little spoiled maybe.

Hello all, I enjoy reading some of your comments and experiences with Filipino culture and English culture interactions. There will, no doubt, be a lot for me to learn as well since my 'to be' wife is a filipina. I am curious, does your filipina trim your nails and cut the food on your plate? I found this to be unusual as I have never experienced it before. I think it is sweet.

I also notice the language usage difference as well. The pronunciation of the vowels throws me off too. - Dave

PhilippinesAIr21 visa delivery

hi,

yeah, that should be good to go... she can just wait for it to come in her house, i lived in the luzon part of the country but it still took them more than 2 weeks to deliver mine. however, after i signed the papers in air21, i already asked them how long it usually takes for the visa to be delivered, they gave me a rough estimation of 2-3 weeks. i thought she was just exaggerating at first, couple of weeks later, i realized that she was right after all.. i remembered tracking it every single day, and when the day came that it was out, it only took them 2days to deliver it in my house. so i guess it all depends on the embassy's visa production.

maraming salamat

PhilippinesAIr21 visa delivery
My fiance had her interview in Manila on Oct. 26th. She was required to get an additional NBI clearance with her last name spelled differently. She returned to the embassy on the 28th and turned in the NBI clearance. She was told if everything was ok with it then she would get her visa by Air21. She got a text message soon after leaving the embassy (hour later) that said "AIR21 would like to inform you of your tracking no. for MNL201076**** is 16080007****. To track its status, log on to www.air21.com.ph". She lives in Davao so it may take longer to get her visa package.

Can anybody tell me if they think it was approved and/or how long it may take for her to get the visa delivered? Thanks Dave

Philippineshas anyone here married a nurse from the Philippines?

I am just wondering if anyone here has married a nurse from another country.
my wife is from the Philippines & she has never taken her review class so she could be an RN.
rite now she is just working as what we would call an LPN
her review class ( she found one close by in Manila) will start on Aug. 9Th & it will be 2.5 months long.
then there is about a 1 month wait till she can take the big test.
so I hope by christmas she can start to think about taking the NCLEX
so when she gets here she will not have any trouble/waiting finding a job she likes.

piglett

She may look into taking the NCLEX here in the US, not sure if it is possible though. Perhaps she should look into getting her nursing lic. in California and then maybe apply for another state from there. California is a little easier in thier lic. requirements than other states, from what I heard. I work with a few Filipina nurses, good luck. - Dave

Hello all, I know this may not mean much to most of you. With the delays from USCIS this does free up a little more time for NVC to process your paperwork after you get your NOA2. Also, I want to mention that someone else I know got their NOA2 a week before mine. They notified me Sept 29th that the US Embassy in Manila was open for interviews from Oct 4th to the end of the month. This is probably due to the slow down of K-1 and K-3 being processed. So, it may take longer for the NOA2 but it may be quicker for the rest of the process (NVC & interviews). - Dave

I too had a long span of time between my last touch (June 16th) and my NOA2 (Sept 14th). Finally got my NOA2 in mail yesterday (Sept 20). I can relate to many of you in regards to the long waiting period. I have a lot of emotion involved in this process, which probably added to my impatience with USCIS. Now that I have my NOA2 in hand I feel so much more relaxed. Your day is coming soon for many of you, maybe this week. - Dave

I just noticed the wait time went from 72 to 80 days today. I am trying to be patient, nothing else to do about it anyway, they already have our money. It is unlikely that contacting your Represenative will help (or look into it) unless it has been past 5 months, mine wouldn't.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMedical Exam @ St. Lukes Medical Center in Manila

Should i call the NVC tomorrow and see if they can schedule an exam/interview? Can they do this over the phone?

You might want to wait a week for the Embassy to get your case delivered by DHL delivery. When you call the embassy to schedule your appointment you will be charged $18.00 US for the call/service. Your fiancee will go to St. Luke's medical center as a walk-in, first-come first-serve basis. No appointment needed for the medical exam... only your embassy interview. You will want to have your fiancee get her exam about a week before the interview, as suggested by US embassy per my phone call with them. - Dave

NVC only had my paperwork/I-129F for a couple days. My fiancee had her 'packet 3' in hand, sent from US Embassy in Manila, in less than 2 weeks from the time NVC rec. my case from USCIS. Scheduling an interview was easy, when I called they had the whole month of Oct open for interviews. Perhaps due to the lower number of cases to process related to the USCIS slow down. Overall, it was about 5 weeks from NOA2 to the interview. - Dave

5 weeks for me.. NOA2 to interview. The schedule in Manila is wide open for interviews. I would have been able to schedule an interview within 4 days of calling the embassy. Maybe this is due to the slow down from USCIS.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today announced a change in filing location instructions and addresses for the Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) (Form I-129F). Beginning Aug. 3, 2010 all Form I-129F petitions being filed by a U.S. citizen on behalf of a fiancé(e) or spouse must be submitted to the USCIS Dallas Lockbox facility.
