Do you have to include the police report in packet 3 or can you give it to them on the day of the interview? My lawyer mentioned they recently changed it to accepting it on the day of the interview.

Where exactly should my Fiance go for her interview? I assume it's at the US embassy on wireless rd but where in that building are the K1's interviewed?

Thanks

So what is the average wait time from returning Packet 3 to interview being scheduled? I don't mean from returning the packet to the date of the appointment. Just how long until you know what the date is.

It looks like the average wait time to receive an interview date w/ the Bangkok embassy is definitely not set in stone. Right now, about 6 weeks or so, just a guess since I haven't crunched the numbers. It says your fiancee/fiance is from Laos though, so shouldn't your interview be with the U.S. embassy in Vientiane though?

She is a resident of Thailand with a non immigrant ED visa so according to my lawyer her case can be processed here in Thailand. My lawyer also seems to think he can have us a date in one week for the end of June. He submitted packet 3 today so I guess we'll see about that.

I can't believe they've become so tight on proof of a relationship. We showed pictures of our passports showing visa stamps traveling to Singapore together, the flight receipt to prove it, and a bunch of pictures together over the year prior to the interview. I hope all turns out well for you!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresk1- SUGGESTION PLEASE....

hello! i have a question.what if my bf can't visit me before we file the petition? we are planning to begin next month.but his last visit here in the phil is july 2011,last year. we have so many pictures together but the thing is we don't have a latest one. guys, is it ok to file and do the first step?its not yet over 2 years since his last visit. he's planning a vacation here but not as early as we wish because of his bc work. please help..i need some advice. :)

it doesn't matter if you've been in the relationship for yrs...as long as you've met within 2 yrs...so it does mean as well that the minimum time of the existence of the relationship is 2 yrs...the photocopied passport stamps and few dated pictures will do...Goodluck to us!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLetter of intent! Please help.

Do we need to make letter of intent? The same thing that we sent in USCIS and present this as a proof at the time of interview? Is it really needed? My fiancé already mailed me his affidavit of support, ITR, pay stubs, w2, noa1, noa2, letter from NVC etc. . but we didn't know if letter of intent will be needed too. I don't have it yet. I will appreciate ur response guys. Thanks

hello, For us as per advised by friends, We did submit 2 letters of intent when we sent our K1 application, one from me and one signed by him...dates are close to the filing...We just wrote there that we are both at age and free, and willing to get married within 90 days upon arrival to US...so simple...I just followed the guides here...then, you should present another one during the interview plus the affidavit of support, and IRS copy, and recent,at least 3 mos pay stubs...some are lucky for not presenting these stuff, but just be prepared... :)goodluck to all of us...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan a Beneficiary cancel the K1 visa process?

hi everyone on VJ! anyone here knows if I (beneficiary) can cancel the visa application? My fiance has been soo mean to me. I gave up a lot of things for him. I am a nurse and because he doesn't like my schedule he asked me to stop. I didn't want more fighting so i quit the job and try to be always available for him. But he never treated me fairly. He also didn't tell me that he was divorced four times. When i got sick, he accuses me of pretending and just seeking for attention( which is nonsense to me because he's not capable of taking care of me). I took a chance on him and he was just putting on a big faked when i met him. I came from a decent educated family and this guy visited me in Philippines and spent 90% of the time drinking, cussed me in front of my mom and my grandmother. I met this guy in Philippines last year and he seemed to be a perfect guy; now i know that he was just putting on a show and he's just looking for a new ex-wife. Our visa process is now close to the 5th month since NOA1. What should i do? i want to move on with my life and not stuck up with this visa thing because i know that he's not doing anything to cancel it even though i asked him to do so a million times!

Hi there...you better end the relationship coz imagine how he treats you now with the fact that you are still living afar...what more if you are already in USA with no family around...this guy is sick!being involved with 4 wives is a big question that should at least warn you in gettin' committed with him...You've got your profession and family...better leave him now while you're still on the process of K1...goodluck!

Sorry i meant G-325 A in the title.

keep it looking the same, or update it? thank you

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG325 A

Does the G325A form need to have physical signature by the fiance abroad or she can sign and scanned copy of it can be forwared with Packet 1 ?

You have to submit the Original Form with authenticate signature, it means, not scanned or photocopied copies...and send it with the application plus other evidences...

you will get your noa1 soon too :) be patient!! goodluck to us all!!

We sent the application to Ca Service Center last July 3, 2012, and until now are still waiting for the NOA1, though check was cashed after a week...But I already emailed the service center last Tuesday and just now that I received their reply, they informed me that they had the application on July 18, 2012 then I was given a case number, and told me that they would be sending a duplicate of NOA1...so just keep waiting, then if it won't come within 30 days, email the service center wherein you forwarded your I-129F...Goodluck to us!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance wants to work abroad

Hello VJers, I have a question my fiance and I would like help with. We filed our I-129F in July and got our NOA1 on July 26, 2012. We are with the Vermont Service Center so we still have a long wait ahead of us. Will it be a problem if my fiance goes Dubai for a few months to work and returns after we get our NOA2? We don't want to delay this already long process if this will cause any problems or delays.

Thank you very much for any help you may provide.

Hello there! I'll try to answer your issues based on my own understanding & opinion...I'm reading a lot here and other blogs about visa thing & K1 application...and checking others timeline, I've noticed that there are also some people who got approved faster in Vermont Service Center...And another thing, I'm from the Philippines working here in Thailand, and I've got a teaching job offer in Oman, but I can't move in there since we've got a K1 application filed in July..in the application form, my address written was the one I'm living in presently which is Thailand...so if I move in to another country, I need to inform the USCIS, then I guess, it would be much of hassles since I'll be requesting for a change of address then a police clearance from a country where I lived in since 16 yrs old which is required...and I'll be spending big bucks if I move in to another place...So I decided to stay here & save & prepare for few more months of waiting...We're halfway the journey... :)...think & ponder which is best for both of you...goodluck :)

:)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresdenied k1 visa
Hi there...I was just refused lst january 31 with my K1 interview...The CO asked quite numerous questions about me and my fiancee...He is 15 yrs older than me...We're both never been married but with kids...As i was having the interview, I was thinking that everything was going well...suddenly, as he was looking at the I-134 form, he asked me who were the people living with my fiancee...I told him that those were his kids, 2 kids carrying the family name of their mother...then he asked me again..Didn't he marry the mother of these kids? I replied with NO...Then he stood up and talked over his headset, tellin me that he couldn't find any commitment from my fiance...and He can't afford to support me when I get to US...I was stunned because he didn't even bother to look at the pay stubs and W2, & 1040, he's earning above poverty level...but I was told verbally to tell my fiancee to write a letter then send his bank statement...

We consulted an immigration attorney, she just told my fiancee to come to my place and get married...We were disheartened by our sudden fate...BUT...I wanna tell you something to give you some points to ponder...

Refusal/Denial are heartbreaking but you need to take time to think it over...stay calm...tell your fiancee to write down the questions that were asked by the CO then his answers...and You as the petitioner, send an email to the USEM where your fiancee had his interview...ask them about the decision..then do a lot of research about people who experienced the same...

Don't come up into giving up and consulting lawyers...YOU follow your instinct but before that FOCUS....I let 2 weeks passed before I came up to the decision that I have to comply to the requests of the CO...We gambled and we WIN....

I'm just hoping that the USEM will be prompt in responding to your inquiry...try to inquire first ...then try to resend the evidences of your relationship like photos, and chat logs or whatever that you think will be useful...and make a good letter to the consul stating your situation like what took you so long to decide on marrying, and state in your letter that you know that process well if you will be given the visa...

I'm telling this because we were in your shoes almost 3 weeks ago...The Immigration Attorney in US refused to help us in responding to the 221g, but I had to follow what my instinct suggested...I read a lot, and asked different sites that offer US immigration cases...and by God's grace...I was issued the visa yesterday...You'll never know unless you try...If this won't work out, so do the CR1 route...

PS: The immigration lawyer was asking at first for 2,500USDas her fee if she's going to help us resolve the 221g but with no assurance...

Stay Focus, both of you...you'll be fine soon...fighting!

Hi there! I would like to give an unsolicited advice...since the K1 is approved, just go on and have the interview, and if it didn't work, he could go to the PI and marry the fiance...I know someone who had an interview at USEM last January 2013, and the guy here in the US is receiving SSDI, she was denied due to the reason that the petitioner is receiving money from the government and he's not capable of supporting the beneficiary...but as what others say, it always a case to case with regards to using a co-sponsor, just try every possible way...and always have plan A and B...goodluck to your friends!

This is a little off topic but if you guys havent noticed I have not been spending much time on here. I found the recent embassy issues combined with the overall duration of this adventure were getting to me. I need to keep my focus on positive things and since I like building stuff I choose to do several projects around the house while waiting for Chada to join me.
My project list is:
*_Running HD to each room from my Receiver / DVR
*_Landscaping the front of my house with flower selection from Chada
*_Building a Thai / American vegetable & spice garden.
*_Finishing up other home projects
*_Organizing the house for our life together

This plus work and friends are consuming 110% of my time. I wont be able to keep this up for more than a few months but that should tie in nicely to relaxing and taking multiple vacations after Chada gets here. This may sound crazy to you guys but its keeping me sane. Do you have anything to do before your girl gets here???

Thanks for reading...

innocent.gif FYI;
Who is waiting for package3(P3),shouldn't send back P3 till you get the package.
Because during now the embassy will not send the forms in the package, they will send you only the letter
tell you to dowload all the forms from the links;

http://bangkok.usemb....gov/immigrant_ ... cket3.html

Some of my friends got P3 yesterday, they are confirm (for K1)

and at the end of the letter they wrote:

Unfortunately, due to increased visa demand, the IV Unit will no longer be able to answer email
or telephone questions about appointment scheduling. Rather, please check our online
appointment schedule which is updated every Monday.

I just got off the phone with Nan, she is riding back to BKK on the 11 hour overnight bus from Chaingrai. I have to give her credit, she went there for her proof of non-marriage document and she went left to go up there on the monday overnight bus. She got the document then turned around and came back the same day **WHEW**. I think she deserves some flowers! rose.gif

She is picking up the police document this week, hopefully. She says that the police document comes in a sealed envelope and she must not open that, just submit to embassy...is that true? Isn't the police document in Thai and therefore needs to be translated to english before submitting to the embassy? What have you all done?

Thanks!

The police document does not need to be translated. The embassy will accept documents in Thai.
I'm surprised about your statements regarding "sealed envelope". We have obtained two original police certificates, neither was in such an envelope. We got two because of Birchbeer's experience where they demanded an "original" even though an "original" was already submitted with Packet 3. We felt better to have two originals.
Thanti just went to pick up the second one yesterday. I know for fact that it's not sealed in an envelope because she held it up to the Skype webcam for me to see.

Good luck!

innocent.gif
Confirm ! The police cetificate does not to be translated coz it is already in english and it is not sealed.
I think she means the Med-exam report and X-ray film these 2 envelope will be sealed DO NOT open it
until the interview date.

I would like to know how far out the packet 3 to packet 4 waiting list is. I think USCANDUAL has been waiting 4+ weeks. These changes sure have thrown my Chada support plan for a loop. (give notice early / I pay 5 weeks of salary so she leaves immediately after interview) That would have saved me 30 days of waiting for her to qive notice after the interview. I have to say I feel pretty lucky. We have been open to her employer about the issues and it seems they have not tried to hard to find a replacement. Maybe Chada's personality is rubbing off on them.

(just a little bit lazy) as she likes to call it....

The last email my friend got from the embassy they said "the interview appointment will be scheduled after
the IV Unit received the Packet 3 back in 6-8 weeks later."

First 4-6 weeks we thought it's just the standard how they say.

Wow, great research CHW! Why do # 5 - 21 not have a date recorded? Are they all in the period of April 29-May 12?
Also, do you know if all of those dates are the date the embassy received the Packet 3, like ours (April 8)?

Very depressing to see people waiting since March sad.gif. This feels like the NVC wait all over again crying.gif

wub.gif Thanks CHR.
#5-21 They didn't give us the info (same as #1 this also my case whistling.gif )
Mostly they start counting by the date they sent back P3 but I prefer to start by the date that the embassy records as having received our case.
Right depressed worried and blue can't tell how they feel by word.
People in this web are friendly they are giving eachother sympathy and power also good recommendation good.gif
