From what I have read about Nairobi. it is pretty tough there...I am scared when i read the stories of people who have been denied...I don't want to get denied...I guess what we have to do is pray and hope for the best...The wait is also so long... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Any February 2012 filers?	OK, this is actually turning into quite a mess. The letter that I received was not an NOA2 but the NVC's subsequent letter informing me that they received the approved 129F. I spoke to the NVC and they received our approved 129F on July 25th and send it to Manila on July 27th. I checked the DHL tracking (Thanks Cory and Rob - by the way, if you do not put in your country, the system might not catch yoru shipment) and Manila recieved a shipment on July 31st. I should be thrilled, right? Here is the problem. My fiance moved last April. I called USCIS and they told me to wait and send a change of address to NVC when I receive an NOA2. Then NVC will send the updated address to Manila. So, because I did not receive the NOA2, Manila has the approved petition with her old address and may have already sent the package to the wrong address. I will call Manila when they open but I do not expect much since most changes take weeks to work through their system. I will contact my fiance and have her check at the post office and at her old address to see if the package was already sent. Back to USCIS. I told them that I never received our NOA2. After a little while I was able to convey my message (the system is wrong, really it is ) and they put in a service request for a replacement. It will take 15 days for an update. Hopefully they will then send our NOA2. I need to send all of this stuff to her too. Can anyone recommend a shipper that they have used to send docs to the Philippines? It looks like it may cost about $100 to send the docs. I guess a drop in the bucket compared to the whole process but ouch! Everything is going to be fine. Just tell your fiancee to check if the package from the embassy arrived yet and then she can pick it up, so that you don't slow the process down. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Any February 2012 filers?	This is a weird process. Our NOA1 date was February 7th and the California Service Center is our center. I checked my status again today and still at initial review. I signed up for both email and text notification for our NOA2. Nothing. I just checked the mail and I have an approved NOA2 dated July 30, 2012. Website still lists us as initial review. Someone please verify this for me. The letter is from the United States Department of State National Visa Center in Portsmith NH. The letter says that the State Department's National Visa Center has recently received an approved I-129F petition filed on behalf of my fiance. It also says that within one week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa issuing post where the interview will take place. It is a one page letter. I have attached a copy with personal info removed. Is this the NOA2 or is it a letter that they send after the NOA2? I am thinking that maybe I never received the NOA2 if this is a subsequent letter. We are praying for you that you get them soon. hang in there. Mygrc, That is a letter from the NVC, so its not the NOA2. If NVC is sending your petition out to the embassy, it means your petition was approved but you didnot get your NOA2. Like everyone else has said, give them a call and find out what happened to your NOA2 because they do expire and you want to have enough time to do everything and even have some left over incase your visa is not approved to appeal. I wasn't able to go to an AT&T store before 8 pm to get another phone and as soon as the man handed me my new phone, I realized I got a new SMS: status update -----> NOA2!!!! Finally!! Same thing happened for us, we didn't get an email or text like the NOA2 but 4 days later the NOA2 hard copy was in the mail. What does it say?? Have you been approved? Because it says, on .../July/2012, we mailed you a notification telling you this petition was approved... If it has been approved, then wait for the NOA2 hard copy in the mail. Don't worry about it, its fine. Congrats Scott76. My NOA2 is around the same time, so should tell my fiance to call NVC to find out if We have a number yet. What is the number to call?? Actually, we didnt get an email like our NOA1, we both didnt know anything and just when i was thinking of telling my fiance to call, I checked the USCIS website and found we has been approved on thursday 21 june. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Any February 2012 filers?	I'm just too impatient as well...I keep coming back here to check and see if anyone got approved. I am a mid january filer and I hope to be getting my NOA2 next week according to my timeline... This waiting is really driving me crazy...sometimes i feel like i want to just scream...because checking everyday and hoping that everytime i get to talk to my baby, he is going to tell me it came in... He mailed the paperwork last week and before he sent it out as we were checking to see if everything was there, we noticed our package had a mistake. In his letter of intent, he dated it to 14 January 2010 instead of 14 January 2012. Hoping this will not sermon an RFE...we were both nervous and didn't know what to do...but just keeping our fingers crossed that we don't get an RFE but rather get an approval soooooooon...as soon as i finish writing and posting this..That's how soon i want our NOA2 to come. But this is a new week and we are all going to be okay. The more it gets closer to our estimated approval date, the more my nerves get on edge especially with the interview part. The Nairobi embassy being one of the hardest and my fiance not being able to come with me makes me 10 times more nervous.. I was just looking at my binder of paperwork, as I'm preparing to go down to visit Tom tomorrow, and I realized we have a mistake. I'm totally expecting us to get an RFE now In HIS letter of intent (he's the USC), it says he intends "to do so within 90 days of my arrival into the US using the K-1 visa"... it should say HER instead of MY. He's already IN the US, and not entering on a k-1 visa. *siiiiiigh* ... I HOPE that they wouldn't nitpick over a typo like that. But I feel like they might Ughhhhhh Your going to be ok. Hope they won't catch it and besides its just a minor typo that should be very easy to correct instead of a full RFE. But you are going to be ok. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Any February 2012 filers?	Hi gang, It's a sad day for me, the day this journey becomes irrelevant to me. We broke up today. There's been one major issue I've been waiting for him to make up his mind about and he finally has and it qualifies as an irreconcilable difference sadly. Heartbroken doesn't begin to describe it, I'm in that phase, I can't stop crying, i won't be able to sleep, it'll be tough going for a really long time. Plus I will have my son to break the news to and that is the worst of part of it all. I've already started re-initiating him to our "just-the-two-of-us" theme. I also have practical matters to attend to as I begin to reconsider the direction of my life. In a strange way, I am still so glad because I have read too many sob stories on here, I didn't want to be one of those people who find themselves stranded in a foreign country because something went awry so when this issue came to my attention, I opted to deal with it head on so that no matter what, there are no surprises in the future. So, I'm a wreck right now, but thank God, I'm a wreck in my home country and I will figure it out. I just had to let you guys know, you will inevitably be hearing a lot less from me but I will all the same update my timeline when NOA2 comes in for the benefit of other members in the future. I wish all of you so much joy and happiness in your lives, the visa is just the beginning, I'm praying most of all that the rest of your lives be filled with love and peace as He intended for us. I am so sorry Rose to hear that you are ending things with your fiance...I wish you could work things out because you guys seemed so happy and good with each other... The positive side is that you worked it out before you could pack up your life, so you can gather strength from all of us here and move on. Just be strong and you can count on us for support... I will be praying for you that the Lord may comfort you and heal your broken heart. take good care and you'll always be one of us here... I would like to get as much as we can done now, just in case;) I have read a little about what we/I need, seems like my fiance needs to do some work This is what I figured out so far: Copy of the I-129 package and all original documents Letter of intent (do we use the same as we did with the petitition? Just a little different wording.) Tax return from 2011 (W-2?) Paystubs Letter from employer Tax transcripts for 2009 and 2010. Affidavit of support Copy of NOA2 (oh I would like to get my hands on that!!) Proof of ongoing relationship Medical and police certificate (which I can't get before I have a letter from the embassy..) Anything else?? I am a mid january filer. so i hope to have our petition approved by mid june and today is the 1st of June, so I need to start getting ready for what we need when the NOA2 arrives and I've been looking for it and today I found that you posted about it...My fiance and I had discussed it two days back but we didn't know what we needed but now I am going to tell him to get ready everything ready because we now have a few days to go...about 40 days slightly more or less...Thank you...As the days get closer I am both excited and scared at the same time but I pray for God's blessing in all this... Speaking of languages, My fiance is russian and i have been trying to study it though its not easy at all...I will teach him my language Luganda when i get there...but so far, I can't say I have much luck in learning the russian language...It is complicated for a fact because he says so too and his parents say that too, but i am trying my best to learn, decided to give myself a break and refocus on it...with new zeal. Also, i have failed to include a ticker on my profile completely yet I want too so bad. Can anyone help a lost person in ticker world like myself??? Its been 3 months since we filed our petition. We sent it to Texas but it was forwarded to California. Sometimes I am really tired of all this waiting and sometimes it feels like we just put our petition in (those are the times when we have frequent and regular contact regardless of time.)But other times I feel we have been waiting forever because we only get to talk for about an hour or less everyday and that's too little compared to those times when we spend 5 hours talking and chatting...arggghh the wait is killing me but its all we have for now.. Hey everyone, Haven't been here in a long time...I just read the situation with afoyoswa's friend and i am officially worried again....This is too stressful because this nairobi embassy has more denials than approvals and it scares me so much...For a while now, I have kind of let my mind wander to get my mind off of how it is painfully hard to go through the Nairobi embassy.. I am so sorry that your friend got denied afoyoswa but the best thing we can do right now is pray and hope for the best and the Lord will see us through but it is really scary stuff...Since i knew we had to file for a Visa, I have been keeping all the paper work which i hope will strengthen our case because i have money transfer slips...parcel slips and anything i can find which i hope can make our case easier... I think that CO should be moved because she is killig so many people's dreams and happiness and I believe only God has that Power to do that...not a human being. My prayer is that for the rest of us who are left here, when we do have our interviews, she is out on leave or she got transferred to some other department or something... Everytime i see a denial, my heart drops so low and I cannot imagine anyone being in that situation. It is so sad being denied a chance at happiness and yet everyone deserves to be happy. This is not easy when your baby is far away and you miss him/ her and yet you even have to worry that you might have a wait and even longer time to see them...May the good Lord see us through this trying time and deliver us victoriously to where we hope and want to be in the near future at the side of our loved ones..Amen and Amen. The other thing is how do i get a ticker on my profile, can someone help me out and give me a link or show me how to do it?? Will really appreciate it. Hello everyone, I noticed everyone is making wedding plans already...I am looking at dresses online but i am holding off on it for a while but i certainly know what kind i want to wear and everything...The beach wedding theme is really nice... Nick and I started using gmail chat but since it was not bandwidth efficient, we had to look for something that was bandwidth efficient especially on my part...So Nick discovered this small application called Vsee. It is totally free, and it is also very good on bandwidth and you can adjust your video setting according to the network and everything...You can chat while video calling, share documents, pics and also you can share desktops.... Nick and I usually talk whe one of us is going to be because of the time zones and the 11 hour difference between our countries, so Vsee helped us out, we share desktops as we talk until the other falls asleep if its night and the the one who is awake turns off the other's computer and puts everything in order as the other sleeps... Usually, I leave a note for Nick to find in the morning when he wakes up incase i can't come out to talk to him when he wakes up...and that makes our bond stronger kinda like the other is there...sometimes i even wake him up on weekends when he has no work so we can spend time together...You guys should definitely try Vsee... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January I-129F filers	I just got this forwarded email from my congressman's office: "The I129F petition was approved today 7/31/12. An approval notice will be mailed to the petitioner's address of record and the I129F petition will be sent overnight to the National Visa Center for processing." However, there's no update on the USCIS website. Not sure what to think of it. Also, are they really gonna overnight it? When should I start calling NVC for that number thing? Thank you guys. Will write a proper review later but had a really good experience, no problems, very nice interviewer who asked the usual things (how we met, whether i wanted to work in US, if we'd spent much time with each others families, when our wedding was planned for). I was wiping away tears when she said i was approved and she said "stop it, or i'll start too!". Called Andrew to tell him and I'm pretty sure he will need to be told all over again when he actually wakes up, i think he was sleep-skyping! We have no criminal records, nothing. The journey is over for us now. I cannot wait any longer. We must be together. I am gonna get everything in order to move to him and marry him there. Does anybody have any advice? I'm in shock. Complete shock. 6.5 months and a denial. I don't understand! If I live with him there, can I apply for a marriage visa for the U.S. in like a year? I am certain I am going there. That's the only way. I pray no one else gets denied. What an unbelievable, horrible nightmare this year has been. I'm so sorry RachAl. This is terrifying. SO sorry, hope it shouldn't take so long to send everything back and you will be approved soon. Don't worry and I know its hard not to cry but everything will be ok...you'll see. When I went through the petitions for all of December a heck of a lot of RFE's were sent out anyway. It's perfectly normal! There are a lot of people out there that don't read instructions or do need additional information. I even mentioned it earlier in this thread that I was surprised at the number of RFE's that I was seeing. It's nothing out of the ordinary at all I know so many don't read instructions but everyone is almost getting hit with an RFE. Hope they can approve you quickly, so you can get on to the next stage... Goodluck. My fiance called NVC on Monday and we got our number and the package is on its way to the embassy. But I feel bad about all the people who have not got their NOA2s and are getting RFEs. I hope everything works out soon. For everyone here. Praying for all of us.
