once again thank u so much..uve been very helpful..just one more question is it safe to disclose that i had suicide attempt then?or can i say i had it in an accident ..i know no matter wat i say they wud still refer me to psychological evaluation....just want to know if i can just say its from an accident...please once again i ask for help...pasensya na po kung makulit me...god bless

Honestly, with the appearance of the scar (being linear and all), it will be hard to convince the Panel Physician that it was due to an accident. They know better (or most do anyways) since they are trained to be observant with this types of "behaviors" (since it is part of the examination and evaluation). And in case you will say and insist that it was just an accident and not due to suicide attempts and they still refer you for a Psych evaluation, what would you say to the Psych? They will know that you are lying and would just probably will get you into more trouble? Because you're hiding something? Because you are still possibly "unstable" and such behavior could still "recur"? That you maybe a threat to your self and to others? If this is the kinds of observation and evaluation that the Psych will have on you, then there's more of a possibility that they can give you a "Category A" remarks and maybe be ineligible for clearance and a possible visa denial? I'm sorry if I'm beeing too straight-forward. I am not saying this "will" happen but it "can" happen. And whatever the consequence of your action and whatever you decide to say on your medical exam, you will have to live with it.

Have an early medical, so if they refer you for a Psych evaluation you will still have time for that before your interview. If ever you will be referred to one-> tell them that you know now that you were wrong and you regret what you have done. No problem or mistake can be corrected by doing another mistake. That with that experience and going through all those emotional problems (even without conseling), you had come to accept that what you did was wrong and that LIFE and being alive is more important. That you regret it and will not do it again because you value LIFE now and that there's more you can do and with your fiance who you love and loves you, you know you will have a beautiful LIFE TOGETHER and would not waste that chance. But you have to be convincing enough so the Psych will know that you do REGRET WHAT YOU'VE DONE AND YOU HAD MOVE ON and is looking forward for a wonderful and meaningful life with your fiance. The Psych should be convinced that such physical harmful behavior is not likely to recur. The Psych will dig in to your inner thoughts and problems to know what had caused it? What caused you to do such things? If you have other Psychiatric/mental problems and behaviors? If you can be cleared?

Just my opinion and advise. It will still up to you to decide if you will tell them or not about your suicide attempts. God Bless!

i agree with doc helen good.gif
psych evaluation requires a whole perspective of studying your behavior, the way you answer to the question and the way your body responds to every words/questions they are throwing at you. when you say 'yes' but your body tells otherwise then you're screwed... i know honesty sometimes can lead you to more complications, but most likely it will help you go through to this process... what we've done in the past only reflect us to who we are now, whether to change us for the better or for the worse. but by coming out and telling the truth and becoming more responsible to our actions, only tells/shows maturity... and im sure st. lukes will give you credit for that... good.gif i truly hope you'll be with your fiance in the end of this journey... God bless!!!

a scar on the wrist is a high issue for them. every girl that i know who went to st. lukes have been check if they have a scar on their wrist or not even if its just an accidental scar ( like your wrist caught in barbwire and got a scar from it ) they will still ask you why it happened, how it happened and even let you have an appointment for psych evaluation to make sure you're telling the truth... they asked me what happened to every scar that i got blush.gif, good thing nothing on my wrist... i wish you luck good.gif and God bless!!!

ps...
as for the miscarriage im not sure they will know it or not since they will check it down there but doc helen can answer it way better than i am

PDOS is required for all Filipino emigrants or those leaving the country to settle permanently abroad. The main topic of this seminar is to help the emigrants prepare themselves for settling overseas. Like adjustment to a new environment, how to deal with homesickness, travel regulations, immigration procedures, cultural differences, settlement concerns, etc. 12 years old and below are exempted from attending the PDOS and are only needed to be registered to the CFO Office...

PDOS Requirement:

Photocopy of passport biographic page
NBI Clearance
Fee of Php250 or roughly $5.50
Address: People’s Reform Initiative for Social Mobilization Inc.(PRISM)
2nd Floor Equitable-PCI Bank Building, 2422 Taft Avenue, Manila
Phone Numbers: (632) 525-3114, (632) 525-3783, (632) 525-4314

CFO Stamp is a sticker, stamped into the emigrants passport. This stamp served as a proof that this visa holder has attended the PDOS and is now ready to travel.

CFO Stamp Requirement:

PDOS Certificate
Passport
US Visa
Fee of Php400 or roughly $9
Address: Citigold Center, 1345 Quirino Avenue corner Osmena Highway Manila Phils
Phone numbers: (632) 562-3848,(632) 561-8321 ext. 104, 105, 201- 203

The short story is "they" want to make sure your pockets are empty of PESOS before you leave the country...

ANOTHER BUREAUCRATIC WAY by the FILIPINO gov to suck out of the poor pinoy emigrant pocket another 650 pesos

and that not include the AIRPORT taxes......on your way out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOD Bless them...........

Very true!!!

Again, depends on how you look at it.
We are not given the statistics on how many Filipinos get saved by this program from abusive/fraudulent jobs or marriage.
If this project saves at least one person from such abuse, I say pay up and quit bashing the government.
Oh, and this project is run partly by a non-government agency. FYI.

Thatz not the point. Poor Filipinos get pesos sucked out of their pocket by unjustifiable fees upon leaving the country. Itz like having a gun pointed to your head, "Pay or else" you cant leave. And that sucks, no matter how many roses you surround it with. ranting33va.gif

but come to think of it, its only P650 ($13 or so)... how much does USCIS and the embassy cost us for this whole process??? more than $13... i know money is money and you can use that $13 somewhere else more important per se, but it is what it is, some would say its useless and some would say its important...

You'll be fine...

I believe parental consent comes if you're below 18..

Mayeth

Actually contracting marriage when you are below 18 is prohibited because the legal age to contract marriage is 18. Parental consent is required for those who will contract marriage 18 to 21 yrs old. Parental advice is needed also when contracting marriage at 22 to 24 years old. However since the OP is being petitioned for K1 visa where marriage will take place here then neither parental consent nor advice is needed.

true!
i thought i needed it too knowing i was 24 during my CFO and interview back then but they never really ask for it (esp during cfo seminar knowing they're pretty strict about it)... but since it was never brought up, i no longer worry about it much... im on K1 btw

PhilippinesTravelling with Expired Passport

I recently purchased a ticket to the Philippines without knowing my passport will expire few minutes of my arrival time. Will I get trouble with the immigration checks with that? I have green card with my married name though and I am planning to renew the passport in the Philippines.

And also, I will be reporting my marriage sometime next week so I can use my married name on my new passport, but the when I purchased the ticket it was on my single name. Will I get problem returning ?

my aunt traveled from canada to phil with an expired passport. BUT she went to the phil consulate and applied for a certificate i think, and did it all in one day. her situation though was a bit different (her mom died and its important for her to travel asap. so the consulate gave her a letter and just have the passport renewed in phil)... perhaps call the consulate and even the airline if they will let travel w/ a close to expiration passport. my guess is they would but that's just a guess. good lluck
RonMayFemalePhilippines2010-01-30 17:11:00
PhilippinesIs it safe to stay in US with expired passport?
id say it is very important to have a passport that is not expired if your living outside phil. for emergency purposes too. who knows you may "need" to go back to phil for some reason... although a personal appearance could be a hassle in our part... though if you have a US passport already or soon to acquire one, then it wouldnt be that bad since you can go in and out of the counrty... good luck!!!

God bless

PhilippinesAdditional requirements on passports

My wife and stepdaughter are just about ready to obtain their passports. Has anybody had any problems with getting in for the C.F.O. seminars or is it a matter of showing the required forms and into the seminar you go ? Times for the sessions are listed in the CFO website but nothing about making an appointment. How strict are they on requiring 2 valid ID cards ? My wife only has one that is current. She has no computer access and it's a 5 hour bus ride to Manila for her so I'm trying to make sure she has everything needed before she goes.

about making an appoitment, its a first come first serve basis. so if she wants the 1pm sked, she could be there around 11:30 or 12 depends actually on how many girls will be having a seminar that day so the earlier the better. and as for requirements i was adviced to photo copy my passport and i remember they want my nbi too and bc (photo copy). ive got school id so any means of valid id. then if divorce/annuled bring the decree, some pictures of you both (they asked me about it and good thing i have one in my wallet). maiden name of your mom (the USC). i guess thats about it for me... what about you guys? any changes so far?
and P200 i think at the prism and another P400 (something) at the cfo...

ps
on a one on one counselling try to answer as accurate as you can!
good luck!!!

PhilippinesTourist visa to US from Philippines
QUOTE (AmyStan @ Mar 22 2009, 02:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I don't have several thousand to give her to deposit in a bank there.

Any help, or general information on a tourist visa to the US from the Philippines, would be appreciated. Thanks!

even if you deposit the money in her count they still need to verify that the money is not just for "show". meaning you have to have an active bank account where cash flows is coming in and out regularly rather than one time deposit... a friend of ours was denied even if she got 1M in her bank since they know its not really hers. although you can always try and explain that hey we filed K1 already and that should mean that we're following all the rules and guidelines to enter legally in the US... etc...

good luck!!!

PhilippinesCFO Philippines
your fiancee can get a passport anytime she wants for as long as she has all the basic requirements (nbi, bc, valid id, baptismal record, transcript of record from school... these are the basic requirements)... if ever she'll apply for a passport, tell her not to mention that its for a fiancee/spousal visa thing coz they will surely ask a lot of requirements... just let her say its for "tourist" going to the US or wherever... CFO is important to attend also coz she cant leave the phil w/ out getting one... but for now since she's just applying for a passport, its better not to dwell on a lot of things coz it can really be overwhelming to do a lot of things all at once... let her apply for a passport mainly for a tourist reason... hope this helps and there's no need for her to get all your background check if she's getting a passport for tourist! good.gif

PhilippinesPassport question
you know, i personally know someone who lied or at least didnt tell her then fiance that she worked in japan so she got a new passport. then their k-1 process came and since i was ahead of her from filing the k-1, i was helping her with the requirements. i know (and so does everybody in the neighborhood) that once upon a time she worked in japan and so i told her to get a police cert. at the japan embassy sort of. but she strongly said NO coz from the start she lied in the application form that she's not been out abroad much more working in japan (her reason is her fiance might "judge" her. so she get a new passport). so interview came, "everybody's" weary on what the outcome knowing visa fraud is a big no no at the embassy. we end up telling her to find a lawyer to enlighten her senses, but guess what? the lawyer told her to just go on with lie since identity theft is also pretty common in phil especially if you want to work overseas. that if the embassy would check and ask her all she gota do is tell them no it wasnt me. lol... so in the end, she goes in with the lie and fortunately (luckily indeed) she get away with it. and now she's in the US for 3 months now... im not suggesting to go with this plan (not at all). just speculating something that somehow the embassy itself got some loop holes... i was just afraid for her that some will have a background check and interview the neighbors and will find out, coz ive read in the other forum that someone from the embassy actually visited the girl's home town and did some checking...
anyways as everybody saying, better go to the DFA or is it the POEA not sure excatly, to ask for some old records

kung mapapansin nyo eh kung sumagot iyon eh palaging sarkastiko.

I am not sure kung pareho tayo ng tinutukoy pero isa lang naman cya dito na ganun lol! Nireport ko na cya at suspended ng 3 araw hehe. Let's just ignore that person as we won't get any benefit from paying attention towards his attitude.

For the meantime let just watch this video. This is the recent dance video in the tune of Jai Ho of the Philippine Prisoners. kicking.gif

Ewan ko kung iisa ang tinutukoy natin, pero lahat ng sagot halos parang laging pasarkastiko ang sagot dito sa philippine forum. Well tama ka.

tama ginawa ni pink! report and ignore (or vice versa)...

its actually a good point to make another sub-topic for videos e.g the "youtube" or even attachment photos from weddings/vacations etc... coz in my opinion it will over shadow the other short post and messages... would have been better if all the media (photos, videos, any attachments) for fun and entertainment will have its own category/thread... just my thoughts lol whistling.gif
