HCMC Embassy recieved my packet 3 on 10.10.06 and to this date, still no interview date. i got my local congressman to help (if possible) the waiting is just killing me. i read some other time lines for HCMC and it seems that it seems to get longer (at least for me) QUESTION: when does TET start and does the embassy close during that time? First, she does not hardly get any mail sent to her, so we only had like a 10 day notice to get ready. here is the best advise i can give you.. ***** get on your police report now if you live outside HCMC ****** when she went to her local police office station to get her report they told her 3 months!! We ended up paying a local "lawyer" $250.00 USD to get her report just hours before her interview. I will fill in more about that later. i just want to thank all my Vietnam VJ members for all of your support and help during this very stressful time. some of you have been great with your positive messages and advise. i will pray for all of you. You (we) all are very special people. we have love that does not know boundries. our love we have is beyond politics. Please just stay focus, remember what is important! i will keep you updated. Everything in government is NOT all black or white. America always seems to be in that grey area. Asia: East and Pacific	Update!	so far, my wife is not at all homesick. there is sometimes a little guilt. how it is so nice here and her family is struggling in VN. Asia: East and Pacific	Portland AOS	Monday 30 July we had our AOS interview in Portland, Oregon. it went pretty fast. The nice lady that was to interview us said that there are new questions that they have to ask as of today there are new 'rules' and fees that also started as of today. First, she swore us in to tell the truth. then she asked me about 5 questions, mainly about my finances and job status (how long, how much i make ect....). then she told me that i could not help my wife answer any of the questions that she was going to ask her. she asked her about 14 questions. (from when did we meet, to any ties to terrorist activity to being a hooker to illegal gambling. One question i thought was odd, she asked my wife if she ever said to anyone if she was an American or told anyone in Vietnam that she was an American. She then told us that she was going to approve my wife's AOS then she took her EAD card, stamped her passport and told us her 'green card' will be coming in 2 weeks and that we need to apply again in 2 years to take of the 'conditional' part of her perm resident card off. just a side note... we took in many pictures of our wedding and more paperwork that they said we needed to bring and she did not ask for anything other than any bills or property that we shared. they seemed to have everything already. but i am glad that we came over prepared. Thanks to all my VJ friends who has help us in the past. there was a lot i would not been able to do without a lot of your support.
