Hi Everyone,

Well, this morning I checked my email and checked case status and found nothing. But... when I arrived at work, I had an email from CRIS (Case Status Information for Receipt). We are APPROVED! Happy dance! I may actually sleep tonight!

Here is the email contents, for those still waiting:

Here is how it has progressed:

I-129F sent 4-18-2008
NOA1 4-28-2008
Touch 5-14-2008
Touch 9-16-2008
Touch 9-17-2008
NOA2 9-18-2008 (143 days. CSC)

Apparently, getting touched is a very good thing!

I can't explain how frustrating and nerve wracking it was to see others with similar circumstances (same country, etc) being approved that were submitted many days after our petition. But then, most everyone here already knows that frustration. So if you are waiting, hang in there! The wheels may move very slowly and illogically, but they DO move!

Time to celebrate, and of course, start gathering some paperwork!

Best of luck to those still in the queue!

Let me be the first to congratulate you!!! Goodluck on the rest of your process!!!

Congrats!!! now you can continue up that yellow brick road to meet the Visa Wizard . You were Smart to join Visajourney as we all were, because strength is in numbers, and we are all inspired by each others success stories as they unfold each day. It took Courage to start this journey, as we've all done, because we've stumbled upon a treasure trove of information and knowledge, and in some cases made great friends too. And the Heart that it took for you to love your fiance' enough to patiently endure this ordeal, and now challenge the remainder of this journey to a happy marriage.

Good Luck!

Hi,

I want to wish both of you luck at the interview, I'm sure you'll be fine and I understand being nervous, I was not able to be there for Cinara's, and I was a nervous wreck all the while she was there...you guys have a lot invested in this long journey, and now it's down to the wire. So let me know the details after you've stopped celebrating.

Hi Jessica,

How are you and your fiance' doing? The clock is ticking down for you guys!. Anyway Cinara recieved her visa in the mail on December 19th, it was actually issued two day's after her interview...November 28th, so she's really not getting 6 months before it expires on May 25th 2009. We have to move quickly, so we're making arraingements to get her moved to "Sunny CALI" I wish you and everyone who had to suffer through my griping for the last six months, a Merry Christmas (Feliz Natal) and a happy new Years.

Hey that's wonderful news, that's the thing with immigrations, once things get rolling it happens very fast. I hope your interview goes as quickly as Cinara's did...all that rushing to get to Rio for nothing laughing.gif we slept for day's after it was all over. Anyway I hope you'll both have a Merry Christmas "Natal" and best wishes.

Isn't there is a number on there for you to call if you change your address? What if you called that number and ask about that? Just an idea.

I emailed my lawyer... My concern is that my birth certificate and passport both have my middle name (which starts with E). I wonder if he has the I129F that shows my correct middle name, and the 325A that has my last name listed as my middle name if that will suffice. I just don't want ANY reason to deny!

Oh, and thanks for that link... my info arrived in rio this morning! Yay! Or maybe not Yay, cause now there's no way to reach it to change... I hope my lawyer says this is no big deal.... please GOD let it be no big deal.... unsure.gif

Hey Jessica,

We were approved on Nov 26th, long story about Cinara, all good though...I sent you a message this morning. Anyway she said that the interview was very fast...about 5 minutes, with very little questions. Should recieve the visa within 15 days. She mentioned that a few applicants were being interviewed intensively. I wish all of you who are next in line the best of luck, see you in the next leg of the journey...the green card!

Hi,

If anyone know the answer to this question, it'll be greatly appreciated. I've been hearing that embassy's will close during the holidays for a period of time, and that they'll also book up appointments for the end of the year. If this is true, what's the best way of confirming this information? we're in the middle of gathering our document before the packets are sent out...do we need to continue with the rush or wait???

Not so good... still NOTHING, not even a touch. They have my parent's address as my permanent address so my mom's checking every day (and has been for a month) and still not a thing. Our lawyer is looking into it, and if he can't get any info, we'll have my State Senator (luckily also a good friend of my parents good.gif ) get on it. I just don't understand the delay could possibly be. unsure.gif

Thanks for checking in though.... How are things for you? Did you call the USCIS and find out why you never got updated online or your hard copy?

Hi BrazilianXuxu, just checking up on you. I expected you to be on your way by now! Prayers are always answered on time, and we pray that you'll get approved very soon. We're still waiting for our attorney to get doc's to us, and Cinara is ready to leave Brazil...yesterday. I'll keep an eye on your progress, take care.

Hey Hannah... just wanted to let you know that I had my preschoolers ask God to give both of us our "special papers" today. One of them was so excited, he said, "You mean Hannah, like Hannah Montana?!?!" Haha. Thought it couldn't hurt. Fingers crossed... toes too. But still not holding my breath-cause Lord knows I'd pass out before the USCIS ever got around to finishing up our case! Sigh.

Hi BrazilianXuxu and other May Filers, I'm surprised you haven't recieved anything yet sad.gif but by the way their cranking them out you'll be soon. I was still in denial until I recieved the hard copy today. Our attorney is taking care of the rest, but I'm all over him with questions and follow ups, packets and other information is being sent out today.

Jessica, I'll be looking for your shouts of joy when you're notified, and I hope God heard your preschoolers request, Cinara and I are pulling for you too good.gif

My only thought is when they went through the stack, there was something not done, maybe backgrounds, having trouble contacting people, who knows. So it was scanned in, looked over, then for one reason or another tossed back into the pile and maybe it went to someone else who's slow. I really wish for all the cost and time that's spent here regarding our petitions we could get more official answers.

As it is I find it ridiculous I have to go through the government to approve of my relationship.

First a huge sorry for being so selfish and not saying a huge CONGRATS to all those approved.... I had to step away from the computer because it is just so hard to see so many approvals and still nothing..... with that said, thank you so much for being supportive....

Do you think that the fact that Adriano was in in the US on a J1 visa, then had it changed and extended a couple times while he lived and took some classes here?? And then he went back and got a crew member visa (sorry I stink, Ihave no idea which visa that is) Would that be holding it up? He was never here illegally, but had a couple different visas??

I think I'm at the lowest point I've been on this "journey" yet.... do you think God will be more likely to respond if I have my preschoolers pray for us???? blush.gif

Hey Jessica, I think my posting problem is with AOL, so i'm using my lap top instead of the one in my office. Anyway, I'm hoping you'll get your NOA2 before the weekend,, I'll be watching for it. You left a message that I should start requesting the police cert now, before I know if NVC recieved the approval?

Any VJ traveler can answer this question. Is the request for a "Police Certificate" just simply a criminal history printout? or is it a request based on a certain documentation? just a little confused, other wise I can have it done at work. Anyone who's done this part of the process already, your help would be appreciated. Thanks, and good luck to those waiting for NOA2's

Good Evening BrazilianXuxu,

Thanks for the words of inspiration, I just missed Cinara (IM) on-line by a few minutes, It's a 4 hour time difference there, so I guess she waited as long as she could to use her jobs computer before it got too late for her to travel home. Besides, I didn't have good news anyway...kinda get tired of telling her "Not today" because it depresses her. Anyway there's always tomorrow, the sun will come out tomorrow.... whistling.gif

Good evening, as the weekend winds down and we eagerly await the next day so that we can resume our roles as slaves to the computer checking, and checking again, hoping that the new's was sent and if we're the lucky ones for an approval today. I wish each of you the best of luck and hopes that your journey shortens as you reach your destinations. In following with "BrazilianXuxu" I leave you with some quotes of love. We are all very fortunate people, each and every one of us has found life partners in some of the most exoctic places on the planet, and as members of the VisaJourney family...which is what we've become; a family, each of us have or are going through great lengths to ensure that we unite with our loved ones by taking this journey of faith and endurance.

"Love doesn't make the world go round, love is what makes the ride worthwhile." - Elizabeth Browning

In some cases we bring our loved ones along on this journey, whether they're here with us or seperated by thousands of miles. So as I continue my journey, I'm amazed at the wonderful people that I may have had an opportunity to share opinions with, and the informations that I've recieved from them. I consider you all firends...but better still, family members, and if what we are all seeking is meant to be, then it will...

"Maybe love is like luck. You have to go all the way to find it." - Robert Mitchum

Hope to read from you all during the week.

Hey Everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend... Some of my besties were in town this weekend, and we definitely had a blast, so it kept my mind off this visa business. Now I feel confident and refreshed that our time is coming soon. I came across this quote today and it seem to fit our lives so perfectly, so I wanted to share it with you guys.... maybe it will give at least one of you a boost:

"I beg you... to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them, and the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now, perhaps then, someday far [or hopefully not so far] in the future you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer..." -Rainer Maria Rilke

Take from it what you want, but I see it as living life in the moment, knowing that what we have to do to be with our loves might be more difficult than we ever imagined, but when we're all done (and this thread fades away as someone else said) know that we have fought harder and grown, and learned so much, and that our relationships and lives have been enriched by this journey.

Thanks for letting me have a sappy moment...

And one more for the road:

"The course of true love never did run smooth." Shakespeare

Although I have the time to spend in Brazil, we've invested a lot in the whole K-1 visa process. It was costly because we used an attorney, only because of the type of work that I do, I simply did not have the time to put things together myself. It took Cinara forever to do the things that she had to do to complete the package together, but she works her behind off over there, and does not have a car to get around to the civil offices for documents etc. So basically we decided to marry here, maybe in Hawaii in a simple ceremony, and the following year return to Recife and do it right with her family present.

Recife is on the North coast above Sao Paulo. Check out "Google Earth" and it will take you to it. Although she's from Recife Pernambuco (PE)...born in Olinda PE, we met for the first time in Joao Pessoa in december 2007(further north) about 2 hours away, and just sat on the beach and sipped Coconut juice all day...we did other things too, but you know how Brazilians are when it comes to the beach, and I loved every minute of it. I really hated to come home, and I slept...really slept, for the first time in 15 years.

Thanks BrazilianXuxu, we need to hear (read) something positive from time-to-time. Cinara is still in Recife Brazil waiting and wondering what the heck is going on with immigrations, one day we're on our way to that elussive NOA2, and then the next thing we read about, is that time lines did a back slide to the previous month. This waiting puts a lot of milage on both parties, maybe that's why it's called a "Journey" but I have to keep her thinking positive too. So thank you for your efforts.

Ahh, those Brazilians... good thing they're worth it! When was the last time you were there?? Where is Recife in relation to Sao Paulo? Guess I could just look it up, but I'm in class, not paying attention. I swear this process is making me crazy!!!!!

Hey! Welcome Fee and Josh!

Congrats to the approvals, let's keep them coming!

I finally broke down and called the USCIS today... actually spoke to a very nice woman, she was so sweet, sympathized with all of our situations, but couldn't offer any info other than what's on the website. But she was so nice, it gave me a tiny bit of relief, knowing that there's actually people there who are friendly and recognize how tough this is for all of us!

That being said, I just want to say a huge thanks to everyone on this site. We're all technically strangers, but knowing there's people out there that understand what we're going though definitely helps. What would we all do without this support?? You guys all rock!!

Congrats to NYC tiger for NOA2 approval kicking.gif . I wonder if we all can transfer to Vermont, who's surprisingly still able to process "June" I-129f's in 90 days.
