My friend just e-mailed me to tell me how her husband got so drunk last night, when he got into bed, he didn't realize the dog was between them, and kept feeling the poor thing up, thinking it was her.

My whole day has been kind of surreal like that today!

Looks like a few hubbies got tongue lashings last night. Count me in on that as well however I am not a good yeller, and didn't want my mom to hear, so I made my point firm but quiet.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Ha....you better teach me how to do that. I was cussing up a storm. If he would've just taken my advice and walked away. When I say walk away cause I don't want to fight with you tonight, I don't want to fight with you. It doesn't mean walk back and forth and mutter under your breath so I have to keep saying "what?"

OK...you got me there JG. The under the breath muttering would have sent me over the edge even with mom listening in the same room. headbonk.gif

Cause you know in Jamaica, to get anything it takes an arm and a leg just to open a basic bank account let alone anything else. I was like "Yea, this is America"!

That is great! There may be hope for me yet. The Pacific Northwest does have a ton of rain but the beauty seems to far outweigh the drizzle. As long as you can get out of town once in a while.

He is doing okay. He loves it here! He has just been watching t.v. He's a big fan of the judge shows especially Judge Karen. We haven't really done anything exciting except go out to eat, went to the park, shopping you know the norm stuff. Honesty, he's a home-body so its been working out. We applied for his SS card so that should be coming in the mail soon. He has put in a couple of apps because he and I are anxious to start working soon.

Okay I will see yall later

Shanette I am so happy to hear that Mr. is loving the area.

I asked Aeon if he would consider moving back there and he wasn't too enthusiastic. Maybe he would feel differently after seeing it in person. He's never seen anything on the west coast.

Yeah, I am headed out in about a half hour or so. I'll be fine. What I worry about is Andre driving to work and back tonight. He won't be home till after 2. I'll be a nervous wreck.

No, the window is JAMMED up and will probably never go down again.

Thank goodness for it being up! Better than down this time of year.

I seriously feel for you all in the harsh winter climates. The division of my company that I support is in St. Louis and they are really hurting this year as the winter I guess has been worse than normal. I left the North in 1998 and vowed to never move back.

Okay, I am too lazy to delete out some of the posts - I agree with you Jake - but, Only the two people in the relationship and God can judge. I have a friend that dove into a relationship, and moved halfway around the world after 6 weeks of meeting - they have been married ten years and are the happiest couple I know - another couple that has been married 5 years next month after a short courtship - My sister married 18 months to the day she met her hubby - they have been married 17 years.

I think that sometimes we jump to quick to assume someone's a troll - believe it or not, there are many out there who don't know anything about the Jamaican culture - if BB is serious about this relationship, then it's up to her to research and learn - And, as fellow women, I would hope that we can be there to help that.

Nicely said Sus!

Jawi....I like your post on money and potential issues regarding who makes mroe and who makes less.

Aeon and I have not broached that topic and I can only hope that it will never be a challenge. I knew many years ago that I would likely never marry a man that made more money that me and have never had an issue with that. Due to my profession and career level it is unlikely that Aeon would ever make more money than me and I am completely fine with that. I would never make it an issue in our relationship and Aeon knows that. At this stage in our lives we married for much more that monetary stature. Our relationship is built on things that have nothing to do with money.

Hello to all you Yardie Ladies!

I've been deep into everything since before the Holidays. Between my annual audit at work and then immigration hoo-haa, my mind has been numb. We finally made it through the ARC process as of a couple weeks ago. But alas there are always issues in these situations. In my case mainly the utter lack of work. I thank the Lord that I have a job and make a decent living because I couldn't buy a job for my husband right now.

I hope you are all blessed and things are well. Some of you have dropped me a line here and there to check in and I really appreciate that. I know that my immigration process was easier than most however that unfortuantely did not help the reality of our global economy after it was finished. The pressure on me over the past months has been enormous as it has not been easy for me to have so much responsibility. It's always just been me and my Cocker Spaniel Lady and now hubby must count on me as well. And you all know how much my Jamaican husband likes being in that position!

So we do what we must.....I am starting my MBA in the Fall and hubby is studying for his GED so he can also go to school by the first of the year. We are trying to make the best of a bad economy by preparing ourselves for the future. And being Christians we know it will be a brighter future. goofy.gif

I'm looking forward to catching up with the regular ladies here (You know who you are!) and the new ladies as well.

Summer in Florida means staying inside and enjoying the A/C. I'll be online more than most so I hope to see you all around soon.

Hey there Yardies!

Hubby and I have had a pretty tought year or so but none the less we have just mailed off the I-130 for his daughter in Mo Bay, she is 15. We decided that waiting for him to have a job might be too long to wait for a 15 year old girl to be in a proper household.

Has anyone gone through the Consulate in Kingston with a child immigration recently? I know everyone has a different experience however I'd like to hear from some of you as to what I can expect. More so with processing time and any other wonderful tips that you can give me. We are hoping that everything will be as smooth as his was and she'll be here in time for school at the end of August.

Thanks so much! Hope all is well with everyone.
