United KingdomWaiting for K1 interview date in London
I tied to call early on today, but they said they have different timings on Wednesday and they were closed. I just checked out the time difference for the DOS, so I can call them right when they open tomorrow. Fingers crossed I have a date...the anticipation is building!

United KingdomWaiting for K1 interview date in London
Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone knows how long your interview date is averaging from your medical date at the moment. I had my medical on 28th March, and have called the Embassy a few times. The person I last spoke to said that it is unusual for them to have the date on their computer before I would receive the letter. She said that I should receive the letter 3 weeks after my medical...however, what I really want to know is what kind of time frame am I looking at for the interview date from the date of my medical. I have checked out timelines etc, however, it doesn't really tell you how long the wait is from your medical.

Thanks all...kind of getting crunched for time.

United KingdomLondon Medical on Monday the 18th...
I took my vaccination books with me and they gave me a piece of paper (for my records) to say I am up to date and sent the original to the embassy. If you are not up to date, I would say to save money do not get them done at the clinic, you don't need to be up to date till AOS. Also, bring a passport picture (can't remember if you mentioned you had it all ready).

United KingdomRecommended B&B/hotels near embassy/knightsbridge?
I stayed at the skylotel, rooms are small and the bathroom is very small but it was clean and new. The hotel is 2 min walk from Paddington station and an easy trip to the embassy from there.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussion2010 Taxes for I-134
Hi Everyone,

I have just received my NOA2, and I am trying to get all the documents together for the I-134. Do the taxes for 2010 need to be complete or would a W2 be enough?

Thanks

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionListing countries you have visted for DS-157
Were the countries on your list ones that you had actually passed through immigration? I know I am going to have a long list, but I am not sure what classes as visiting a country. Sometimes I didn't even enter the airport as we were leaving an hour later, and if I did enter the country I was not always entered into the system and very rarely had my passport stamped.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionListing countries you have visted for DS-157
Thanks for your reply. I think they are two different questions. I know about the police certificates which I have already started to get because I need a few. You need the certificates for your interview, but on DS-157 there is a question about countries visited. I am hoping I don't have to list all of them because there will be hundreds.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionListing countries you have visted for DS-157
Hi Everyone,

There is a question on DS-157, asking you to list all of the countries you have visited in the past 10 years. Does anyone know what actually classes as a visit? I am an ex-flight attendant and probably entered and re entered over 400 countries in the past 10 years. Although, some of them I would not even pass immigration as we would leave an hour or two later, and most times my passport was not stamped even if I did enter the country. Basically, I am wondering if I only have to list countries that have stamped my passport and entered me into there computer system?

Thanks

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHelp trying to get Police Certificate in Canada!
I am also waiting for my police check from Canada, I emailed them and got a reply today saying it takes about 8weeks before they fingerprints. I was wondering that even though I am living in a different country, would I be able to fly to Canada and go to the police station and get the check done like previous posts have mentioned?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPolice Records
Hi,

Does anyone know what would cause a police check record to be waived? I am currently waiting for one from Bahrain, however, it may take a long time now due to the current climate there. At the moment the US Embassy website states that it is still to be obtained. Does anyone a more up to date way of finding out if they would waive the letter due to current political issues etc.

Thanks

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionEvidence with DS-156K
Thank you for the replies. So, nothing to be attached to any of the forms except the forms themselves....not even evidence of relationship or police letters?

Thanks

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionEvidence with DS-156K
Hi,

I am getting ready to submit package 3 the the embassy in London, however, it asks for financial evidence and evidence of engagement. Do they really want us to attach it to the form or just bring it to the interview? If they want financial evidence with the DS-156 what should I include? Also, it asks for copies of police certificates....I have two so far but i am still waiting on another...hopefully getting it any day. Do they require all of the police certificates attached to the form or could I get away with just the ones I have for now.

Thanks for your help

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPolice Clearence letter for London Medical
Hi Everyone,

I have been told that in order to have the medical (in London), you need to provide a copy of your police clearance letter from the U.K. I am still waiting to receive other police clearance letters from different countries, so I just want to make sure it is only the British one you need for the medical.

thanks

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionpolice check or no?
my thoughts to you is to apply ASAP for your police check from Canada. Recently it is taking more than 120 days to be returned (if no criminal record is found). It is pretty simple to apply for, but I can't stress enough about getting it sent off immediately.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionTime between London Medical and Interview
There really does seem to be no rhyme or reason to it...unless they take in consideration to when packet 3 was sent it? Or maybe the date of the wedding?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionTime between London Medical and Interview
I had my medical March 28th and my interview is on April 26th. They say at the embassy that they issue packet 4 about 3 weeks after your medical...I got it about 10 days after. Hope this helps

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview in London
Thanks everyone :star: I really appreciate all of your replies. With regards to military records, that would be if the beneficiary was in the military not the petitioner...right?

I have originals of my birth certificate, police check, employee letter and some finance stuff. Do I need an original for anything else?

Thanks again

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview in London
Hi Everyone,

I have my interview coming up soon and I am getting nervous thinking I have forgotten about something I am suppose to take. I am sure this gets posted a lot but here is what I have...way over prepared

I-134 with transcripts, W2's, every kind of financial document imaginable, pay stubs, bank statements and employee letter (from USC)
Birth Certificate
Police Certificates
relationship evidence (photos, phone records, emails, skype, wedding invitation and receipts for upcoming wedding)
Letter of Intent to marry from (USC)
Copy of packet 3
Copy of every letter received from NVC, DOS, USCIS, and consulate

Am I missing something? Also, I have read a few consulate reviews from London and a few people have mentioned bringing a deed poll...I am not exactly sure what it is and I don't have one. Can someone please clarify.

Thank you everyone...I am sure I am being over prepared, but I would be less than impressed if I got there to find out I missed something out.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPolice Checks for London Interview
I have just read on a review for London that they take your original police check certificate. Is there anyway I can keep the original as I need it for AOS? I had a very hard time obtaining one from the Middle East and I dread to think about having to get another one.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDate of signed I-134 compared to interview date
Hi Everyone,

All I can say is thank goodness for VJ, these last minute queries would make me a nervous wreck otherwise. I am just organising the I-134 documents my fiancé sent me. He has signed in March 20th, and my interview is April 26th.....is this going to be an issue as a month has gone by? I have up to date supporting documents, I just am not sure how strict they are on the date and if the I-134 can possibly expire.

Thanks in advance

I obtained a few police certificates, and one of mine had an address from Canada on as I went to Canada to get it. They never mentioned it at my interview. Hope this helps.

I was told by the Embassy in London that it takes 2 weeks for their system to updated, but I have heard that the DOS has more up to date information. Maybe you could try them? Hope this helps.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionWaiting for passport uk filers! Bloody bank holidays
I didn't email them at all...I just spoke to someone over the phone. The lady I was speaking to was confused as to why I was listed as not attending, so she called someone else...not sure if this brought attention to my passport. I also told them my reason for panicking about not getting my passport back soon....not sure if this helped with it. I am sorry that you are still waiting for yours. I really hope you get it soon....waiting to get it back almost seemed more frustrating than waiting for the other notifications.

Yep, I got it this morning. On Friday it was listed on the couriers website, I called them and they said it was in transport from the embassy to the depot. This morning the doorbell went at about 11 and I just about hugged the guy because I was so grateful.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionWaiting for passport uk filers! Bloody bank holidays
When I called on Thursday it was just to check to see if they had an idea how much longer it would take. They started asking questions and I was getting nervous because they were making it sound like something wasn't right and then they told me about being listed as not attending. The girl then called a senior officer who told her it was in line to be done. I didn't email the embassy about it, but I guess calling did the trick. I called back on Friday to check that they had listed me as attending (I didn't want any possible issues) and he told me this is normal for it to say that as their systems are two weeks behind. Hopefully the fact you have called will bring attention to your passport.

I called on Thursday and was told the exact same thing. I got really nervous thinking that this was going to cause a delay because they didn't think I attended. The next day the courier website had a date for my passport to be delivered. My interview was on the 26th and I got my passport today.

I forgot to say that later I was told by London that it takes 2 weeks to update the system and this is why I was listed as not attending.

Thank you for all of the replies. I think I will just fly over and get it, because I have been told by the RCMP 8 weeks but have heard longer. Krikit was your student ID from Canada? I don't have any ID from Canada anymore, so would be using all UK ID.
Thank again!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPolice Check from Canada
Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if it is possible to go to a police department in Canada to get the police check done if you are not a resident/citizen? I have already sent my stuff to the RCMP in Ottawa, but it is going to take a while and I am not sure if I can wait. I have heard it takes a few days to get it done at a police station, so if I can fly over and do it I would be able to save a ton of time.
