FOR ALL THOSE WHO HAVE GONE THROUGH THE PROCESS.

IF YOU HAD TO CHOOSE AGAIN WOULD YOU GO THROUGH K1, K3 OR IR/CR? I HAVE BEEN WONDERING ABOUT THIS LATELY. THE K1 OR K3 BRINGS YOUR SPOUSE/FIANCE' SOONER BUT THEN WHEN THEY GET HERE THEN WHAT? THE IR/CR TAKES LONGER BUT THEY ARE READY TO WORK SOONER OR ARE THEY?

EVERYDAY I LOOK AT THE FORUMS OR PORTAL AND WONDER IF MY APPROVAL DAY WILL EVER COME.

NVC PLEASE HURRY UP AND PROCESS OUR PACKET 3.

I MISS MY HUBBY SO MUCH AND CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HIM NEXT WEEK.

If I had to do it again... i would definately do the CR/IR. Honestly, my petition took just as long as a CR/IR and they would have been less running around once he got here! But Hey he's coming today so in hindsight...It's ALL GOOD as long as the end result is the same! luv.gif Being back in my Baby's arms! luv.gif

Bless-ed & good luck to you both,

Thanks and blessings,

Gill

We do not get notified. You don't have to be a pest, so much, in that they are actually nice when you call since it's not VSC (it's either NVC or DOS, depending on who you choose). I HATE having to use the phone, especially while I'm at work, but it's the one call I made, and it was relatively quick and definitely helpful.

THANK YOU SO MUCH... I shall give them a call tomorrow!

Thanks again,

I am hurting very badly right now. My husband left yesterday after 10 months. I am 8 weeks pregnant. I found out he was cheating on me and he immediately said he wanted a divorce and to get rid of the baby. I am writing my story in MS Word right now and I will post the entire story as soon as I can stomach to get it all out. Right now I'm feeling used and betrayed and deeply hurt. I gave everything to him and spent time, money and emotions getting him here. Things were just going to turn around for us and I found out I was pregnant. We have been trying for 7 months. He wanted a baby more than anything. When he found out, he cried and called all of his family and friends and they were all happy and crying about it too. Then he started cheating on me 2 1/2 weeks ago. His family is furious with him (I called and told them).

I am canceling the AOS tomorrow. Our relationship was all a lie.

I posted under a new ID because I am so embarassed. Things were going ok until all of this.

Just needing to get some empathy because I'm feeling pretty worthless right now.

Ohhh Sistren, I am so sorry this happened to you. He wasn't worth your love to begin with! Now it's time to focus on YOU!!!! And what YOU want to do!! I know it's hard to see right now, but it's good that you saw his real side now, then years from now! Don't forget 'Our Creator' never gives us more than we can handle and Girl, he will see you through...just believe. Hold-up your head Sis, YOU DID NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF, but dare to love & trust!! One day you will find a man worthy of YOUR love, because obviously your husband wasn't!

Many blessings and prayers be upon you!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIs it me or is Vermont now taking FOREVER???

I wrote an email yesterday to the chief of USCIS, voicing my concern as well as the concern of many that USCIS needs to keep us better informed as to where we stand...i made it clear that we all know that the USCIS processing estimates are just an automatic update done by a computer and there is no substance to it!!! I said that they should have a daily update or at the very least a weekly update for all of us waiting!!

EXCELLENT IDEA!!! It's true, they really need to work on their customer service skills! Thanks for your help! Have a good weekend! I kindda feel like we are all in this HUGE waiting room, just waiting to be called in!! It is just so random and frustrating!! Anyway hang in there!

Hi all,

I mailed my 129f packet on 7/25/07 to the Vermont Center. I confirmed reciept on 7/27/07...I still haven't received an NOA1 yet!! Am I just being impatient? I see that majority of recent 129f filers received their NOA1's within a week. Now I'm getting worried that I did something wrong! I want to call, but my fiance thinks if I start bothering them now, they will for sure put it at the bottom of the pile!

Any help or advice anyone can give me on this would be appreciated!

Thanks and have a great day! :D

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFIRST TIME POSTING HERE ON VJ
QUOTE (jaybredren @ Aug 8 2007, 04:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
VJ'ers, this is my first time ever posting on this site here.....So let me give my store here- I am engaged to a fiance from Negril, Jamaica. I met here in March of 2006 on vacation in Jamaica, it was one of those instantaneous feelings where I just knew, LOL. Well I have visited her a couple of times in Jamaica and we have vacationed together in the United States (she has a tourist visa). We just got engaged on June 2nd of this year. I couldn't start filing the visa as of yet because I am in school and I want to make sure I give the application process my undivided so I am not missing anything. I am going to Jamaica for a visit and talk more about our future and direction we are going.

It is very hard to be away from her and vice versa when you have those bad days at work, school, whichever and you need their shoulder to cry on you know? So to my fellow VJ'ers that has been there and done that I have some questions.

-With the new immigration fees, etc....Which one is still better to get us together faster: K1 or K3?

-How do you all 'do it' and what do you do when your S.O. is away from you and you can't handle it sometimes?

-What did you all do to to past the time by and lower that anxiety, stress, difficulty from being away from your S.O.?

-Any other advice, pointers on the long road to reuniting with your loved one?

These are all questions where I know I am going to get different answers and that is what I want (to hear different sides of the story).

Stay tuned for more contribution from me!

Greetings Jaybredren!!

Ok, so someone already gave you the link to view the pros and cons of k1 vs. k3.

How do we do it...one day at a time...just know that eventually you will be reunited with your SO is worth the wait!

Try to keep yourself busy doing other things...I think most of us work ourselves silly in order to save up for the arrival or to go visit and to keep our minds off the EXTREMELY slow process!

Most importantly never forget, we are all here to lend help and support to each other during the good and bad days!!

So don't be afraid to shout us if you need something!

Good luck in your journey!

Blessings, heart.gif

I am really getting upset with this rubbish. It is crazy that in order to see my fiancee I have to spend alot of money on a ticket. I filed in July with VSC. Has anyone that filed in July with VSC got their NOA2 yet.

Thank you,

I hear ya! I'm right there too! It's totally crazy! I'll tell you this if I don't get my NOA2 by 11/17/07 (105 day average for Jamaica)...Chuck and Hilary's offices will be getting a call! They increase fees and we get slower service?? WTH??? C'mon, do better USCIS!

The same thing with the US passports...they make all these great changes, but does anyone think to analyze the impact these 'great ideas' have on the current system?? Next time, think ahead...of course hiking up the fees tenfold is going to cause an increase in applications...hire more people in prepartion for it mad.gif no0pb.gif no0pb.gif !

Ok Goodie,

... when I went they asked Ken (my Fiance)

1). Where did we meet
2). Date we meet
3). If I have children
4). Their names
5). If he had children?
6). If we had met each others children
7). Anticipated Wedding Date
8). What I did for a living

It seems as if you have already filed...if you have a copy of your initial (129f) petition...please have your Fiance memorize the story of how you met...exactly how you have it on the petition.

To me and others...that is where they get majority of their questions from and if you have dependents (children) your tax returns also

Good luck...when is your interview?

Please don't freak out, Gooden. If you can go and you want to go, then certainly go. If you can't or don't want to, please do not feel obligated to go. There is no set formula for approvals or denials.......the recent denials in the JA embassy that I know of have been due to drug usage and insufficient evidence. It had nothing to do with an age difference.

Make sure he has every little piece of paperwork and evidence he needs and you will be fine.

I could not go to both the interview and the ride to the US. And, at that time, it was only a 4 day wait for visa delivery. Today, it is roughly 2 weeks.

Dang, JG-- I wonder why they stopped that.

Due to extra security checks with the fingerprints, that's why some take longer than others.

Yes, you can go into the Embassy. They may even ask you questions during the interview. Kingston seems to give the interviewee a harder time if the petitioner isn't there...not all the time but it does happen. Your presence is the best evidence.

Since you can't make it, just make sure your fiance is organized and well prepared for the interview.

That is a pretty broad and misleading statement about the hard time. I know many beneficiaries who went without the petitioner and have reported absolutely no problems. Most have stressed over not being able to go because of statements like this, almost to the point of making themselves sick, and found it to all be unnecessary.

If you can go, go. If not, so what? In the end, it is all about preparation for the interview. You can be standing right next to him professing undying love; but if the evidence is not up to par, it does not make a bit of difference.

Have all your ducks in a row and you will be fine either way.

As a side note, I've also known several petitioners who have attended with the beneficiary only to be turned down due to missing evidence and failed medicals.

No, that's not exactly it at all. When we went through 2 years ago, everyone received their visa in 4 days.

Today, 2 weeks is the norm. Longer if there is a hurricane. It seems to be about the printing of the visas at the embassy.

JG, the only reason I say make every effort to go...if you can... is because when the SO went up to the window by themselves they did seem to be a likkle bit harder on them (also a likkle bit ruder(sp?))...yes, a few did get immediate approvals...but majority did not! Also nowadays it seems as if it is almost expected by the USCIS officer for the SO to be there. The first question when SO's were alone was...
"This is a very important day for you...why isn't your fiance(e)/Spouse here?"
Who knows...
Just my $.02!

AGREED! But ditto what Tex said if you cyan't mek hit!

Does anyone think my being 36 and my fiance 26 will be an issue at the interview? Everyone I've ever met does not believe I'm 36, I look much younger and I'm always asked for I.D. I won't be at the interview (since I can't go in, we're saving money for wedding) though but my pictures will. Also, this runs in both our families. My dad is with a woman 10 years older than him and my fiance's mom is married to a man 10 years younger than her. It's not a big deal to us or our families. I hope it won't be a big deal with immigration. wacko.gif wacko.gif wacko.gif

Greetings Goodie,

Look 'ere...I am 10 years older than my fiance also (37-27) and I just came back from attending his interview with him. I stood right next to him during the entire process. Believe me Gurl...that is the LEAST of their worries! They just want to make sure that you have a legitimate (sp?) relationship. I think it is better if you go...just to show your support and give your SO a morale booster!

But you know your finances and situation best! But, I can assure you to the JA Embassy...age ain't nothing but a number!

Good luck and many blessings to you both!

Blessed,
Gill

PS...Please feel free to join us on the Yardie Thread if you have more questions!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow to go through customs at JFK if coming from Canada?
Yeah...but here's the trick...must places want a SSN when applying for work! Even if you go down to the SSN office the day after your fiance(e) gets here they need to verify that your SO is eligible to get an SSN with USCIS...according to Social Security this could take 6-8 weeks, then another 2 weeks to get the actual card!

So when all is said and done your fiance(e) has 2 weeks to work legally before the 90 day K1 expires! blink.gif wacko.gif

Hey, but I'm going for it anyway...nothing ventured...

Good luck!

Blessed,

Gill

Hey Lovey,

Welcome to VJ!! You are in a good place!! You will get GREAT emotional support from our VJ Yardie thread!! I have to tell you somedays it hurt just getting out of bed I missed my honey so much. But speaking with others that understand EXACTLY what you're going through can help you make the best of your wait and prepare for your honey's arrival. As well as understand you are not alone through every step of the process!!

We share of joys, sorrows, laughs and frustrations...it is ALL good and you are ALWAYS welcome!

Take care and ahng in there!! My mantra through my waiting days was "This too shall pass!" and it did! biggrin.gif I also played the "This is" game! "This is ...my last Christmas without my Honey, my last New Year's Eve without a kiss from the one I want...etc." Good luck and stay strong!

Today is my Fiance's B-day and today I got an e-mail from the Panama embassy saying that his case was approved!!!

His interview was March 10, and he had to go back to turn in some documents that were missing (because by March 10th they weren't ready) so he turned those in on March 19 to the embassy. It's been over a week and still nothing. I tried calling and nothing.........so I decided to write them an e-mail yesterday..........and today we got a response!!! They said he was approved but that they will call him to pick up his VISA, yes that's right they specifically said VISA!! I just love how they make you wait, but I don't care because we know we are approved!!! Gracias a Dios!!. I had to share this with everyone. So to those July filers who are still out there waiting there is still hope, and to those who are starting their journey, don't give up the best is yet to come! Now I'm doing the dance: kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

Hi everybody!:) I just want to let you guys know that I had a successful interview at the Peruvian embassy this Friday and my visa was approved after a few questions! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif Thank you for all the support and help during the previous days, as I was getting ready to attend that interview, it was wonderful to have them! and sorry for not being in contact, but my fiancé was over to attend the interview with me and then after and before that we were extremely busy! I am going to give details about the whole thing in the embassy's review section on VJ. I'll be picking up my passport this Tuesday and my flight ticket to Houston, TX has already been purchased, I'll be there by Saturday morning if everything goes OK!
Hugs and good luck for those applying and whoever comes next to go through this part of the process. Also, I'll say the same the consular officer told my fiancé and me, to those who are about to get married, have a happy life!

Yay!!! We got our approval on Thursday of last week and my fiancee picked up his visa this morning. He's coming to the US tomorrow, and I couldn't be more happy. We are both very happy about how smooth our interview went. We were very prepared and had plenty of proof. There were lots of people and advice here too, I appreciate it so much. Now on to the next stage and at lease we will be together. I put a review up about our interview on the embassy review pages. Yay!!! I could just dance kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

Thanks to all. We can only hope that the USCIS makes progress catching up from the end of July surge. People filing before the new fees took effect. I understand that's why they're so backed up.
