K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA couple of questions
Hi :D

Yes, you should put N/A or None and not just leave it blank.

You will get mail sent to the address on the form - A letter saying they received the I-129F, a letter saying it has been approved/denied and a letter stating it has been sent to the Visa Centre (if approved).

You can change the address if necessary. We won't be living at the address we put on the form, it is where my fiance lives now though.

Good luck with the process!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat happens if denied on Visa Waiver???
I pretty much figured that out :P I was more wondering the long term implications - do you then have to apply for a B2 or can you travel on VWP again after a certain amount of time? I am not asking in regards to my visa application, I was asked this by a friend and I knew you guys would no the answer!

Thanks again

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat happens if denied on Visa Waiver???
Hi guys

Just wondered if anyone knows what happens if you are denied entry visiting on a visa waiver (from UK) for the reason that you have visited too many times - no overstays or anything?

Thanks

"Having spent minimal time in the UK & with only a handful of Brit friends, I'd hesitate to say *everyone* is like that, but I think it's fair to say that Americans are different in the 'get it done' department.
The other part of it is personality."

Hey I'm the Brit - its my adorable US fiance who is useless!!!!!! But bless him, he got all his stuff done yesterday for the I-134 because the penny dropped that it was getting me down! He's got it all ready to send and he's going to his moms this weekend to get her stuff! I did mention this post to him and I think he got a little offended and it pushed him into action!

Hope Craig gets his stuff done soon. Have you tried explaining how it is making you feel? Its hard getting this stuff done when your not there to help and 'encourage' isn't it. Just think in a years time from now you'll be laughing at this whole thing ;)

Hmmm, are all guys equally as useless :P !!!! Roshon is just the same - I filled all the I-129F out, chased it up, chased the NVC up etc etc he hasn't done anything!! I've been pestering him for the I-134 stuff for a month and he still hasn't got it sorted yet (I think he spends a week per item  )! Today however he promised me he'd get it sorted LOL and thats only because I was moody. I'm very organized when it comes to these sorts of things so it really stresses me out when its out of my control and I have to rely on other people. Then he has the cheek to get sad because he misses me and that he worries I'll leave hime - MEN!!!!

Like latitudes said, I already know all this about him though but it still doesn't stop him stressing me out - I know he'll get it done eventually and he's brilliant in every other way. ahh i love him so much

It just seems our guys just don't have the sense of urgency that we do. You've spoke to him about him leaving sunny old England and its seems like thats not the problem, if I was you i'd just keep constantly reminding him to the point where he'll get it done just so you'll leave him alone!!! :D

Good luck!!!

Can Craig drive to the town of his birth and get the record directly? Cut down the admin time.
I've found that my own UKC does not like to be "pushy". And that sometimes, my US ways help us get things done on time :)

Sorry to hear about your problems. As Meauxna says can he not go to the place where he was born and pick the birth certificate up??? I didn't have a long form B.C and my local register office gave me the number of the register office in my birth town and they mailed it me within a couple of days (paid over phone with credit/debit card). If he goes to the register office where he was born, they'd give it him on the day I would think (ring and check though!).

Have you sent your packet 3 back??? I'd be emailing London all the time if I was you and explain your wedding plans etc, at least every couple of days and hopefully they'll crack and give you a date! I'd get the packet 3 sent off anyway because your looking at least a month (more likely 2) before your interview date.

Good luck

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the co-sponsor part - you're fiance would need to be able to prove he can financially support you (125% poverty level), or you would need a co-sponsor also.

Hi

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Unfortunately unless you have exceptional reasons for not meeting before marriage like religious reasons and (I think) maybe if there are exceptional reasons to do with finance for why you haven't met, it is highly unlikely they will approve the visa. Somebody else will be able to fill you in further though but I would think you would have to have really exceptionally circumstances for not meeting. Is it really wise to move abroad for someone you have not yet met.......?

I hope someone else has more info for you - if you look at the example I-129F form (Example Forms) and also look K1 section under Guides on this website, that will give you some more info.

Good luck

I just paperclipped the individual bits together and then paperclipped the whole thing together. I used a the cover letter provided in Example Forms and put everything in that order! I have my interview next month! Its probably best to ACCO it all though, they have been known to lose things and at least you'll know its all attached properly!

Good luck with the process!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGet in US with I-94 and get married.. what else
I know someone will give you better information than me but.....if you decide to proceed with the K1 then you will need to be in Mexico for the medical and the interview - this process usually takes between 5-12 months (there are exceptions of course). When applying for K1 visa some people encounter problems when trying to enter the USA (as a tourist) before the visa is approved (denied entry). If you get married and apply for K3, again you will need to be in Mexico to attend the medical and interview at the embassy. This process is longer than the K1.

It is not recommended to enter the US on a tourist visa with intent to marry. You will have to prove you did not enter intending to marry and this could cause problems when you are trying to adjust your status to Conditional Permanent Resident. I do not know much about this option though.

I recommend that you read the guides as they give you all the information you need.

Good Luck

Sam

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresco-sponsor problems...
Thanks everyone :) I've chilled out a little now and accepted the fact that it might not be here for another week or so. Roshon called his Mom and she mailed it properly at the post office and wrote the correct address.....so I'll just have to stop being so '#######' as Roshon keeps calling me ( )!

jmwaziri - I'll have around the same amount......thats made me feel a little better although like everyone says its up to the individual who does the interview.

Hopefully it'll be here this week (or the next  )!

Thanks again :star:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresco-sponsor problems...
well, Roshon is calling her later to see.... I'm praying she at least sent it Global Airmail because at least I should get it this week sometime- thats how I used to mail my mum and it took about a week or a little more. I looked up the mailling posiblities on the US postal service website and I hope to high heaven that she didn't send it global economy - "If your bottom line is your top concern, consider Global Economy Mail service. It lets you ship Letter-post and Parcel Post to nearly every country in the world at low rates. The service is best suited for deliveries that are not time-sensitive. " err it takes 4-6 weeks.

I did have more faith in her than that....but can't help being a little concerned. After all she originally labelled the envelope with my street name (no number) and just England (no town name, postcode etc)!!!

Oops ranting again!

(oh and Roshon is getting blamed to for not taking care of it properly  )

Stress head Sam

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresco-sponsor problems...
Thanks Pax

I keep praying its a postal delay. I feel so mad because his mom just acts like its some trivial matter like sending a birthday card. Roshon asked her to send it priority (so its gets her in 4-5 days) and she just didn't bother because "its ages till she needs them" AGGHHHHHH! I am so grateful that she is doing this for us but I really wanna yell at her!! We keep saying to her that the support forms are pretty much the only reason I'd have problems getting the visa but she's just like "oh that nice, so whats the weather like!!!?" If I didn't know her better I'd feel quite unloved, but its just the way she is!!

Sorry just had to RANT!

I guess the only thing we can do is give it a few more days.....then maybe get her to send it me all again

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresco-sponsor problems...
Ok, we require a co-sponsor which we have BUT apparantly she mailed me all the info to me last saturday (02/18/06) and I've still not received the paperwork - I know its only been a little over a week but I can't help but freak out! Whenever Roshon posts me anything its usually here within 5 days. He just told me today (grrrr) that he's a little concerned she's just put it in a post box without going to the post office and getting it sent properly to England  . He told her what to do (its him mom) but she is one of them people that just does not listen, she does not take things seriously!! It took her 3 weeks to sort out all the paperwork so I do not know what we are going to do if its lost in the post.....I just have a really bad feeling about it.

Has anyone from the UK self sponsored? I know I've read on here that you can if you have a certain amount of savings. Has anyone done it? I've tried looking on the embassy website but I can't find anything. I've also just emailed the embassy. Can anyone give me any help or advice on this?

My interview is in 3 weeks :crying:

Thanks

Lina - luckily we sent the forms off when I was there!! Hi!

You've got it spot on! There is not much else you can do - I'd send off for the police certificate as that can take a while and also get the I-134 sorted out - theres not much else you can do really! There is a couple of forms that come with packet 3 but they are simple!

Don't worry!
