Wow, maybe we should just let this post die a natural death, the posts are getting a bit strong. Pete is correct in saying I filed a year before IMBRA took affect and there was some sort of slow down in the summer of 2005. I read and heard that the embassy was processing more professional visas thus caused an impact on the K visas but can't validate that. Let's just leave it at that and push on, there are much more important things to worry about

Why are you calling me Pete, you know I hate that name. Just wait until I see you sister you knucklehead

I don't know where you're getting your information or misinformation. US companies are paying USCIS to process petitions within 15 days which has nothing to do with visa processing. And it's not taking anywhere near 6 months to get an interview in Manila.

I beg to differ...it IS taking up to and exceding 6 months to get an interview...the k-1 seems to be moving a bit faster than the rest....but if its not 6 months its close!!

Something was posted a long time ago that American companies were paying extra to have professional and labor visas processed quicker. When we went through Manila it took about 2 months from Manila receiving the petition until the interview, now it is much longer. Back when Manila was publishing the cases for interview each month many more were starting to appear that were outside the spousal/fiancee area. I know caregivers are in very high demand and companies are making a nice profit in providing the labor force to support the need.

Yes it actually was posted a long time ago by me. Again, USCIS processing employment based petitions in 15 days. This has absolutley nothing to do with Visa processing at the consulates. The embassy is still processing and setting interviews in order of when they are received. Keep in mind there was quite a back log of IMBRA affected petitons recently. Now the embassy is or has recently received those log jammed files. You were quite fortunate to have received an interview in 2 months. You can see the post and the USCIS program here.

I am not sure about you being the first to post about this, I have seen posted older than your join date referring to the increase in other visas through that Manila consulate that had deterioriated the output of the spousal/fiancee visas and that started occurring before IMBRA came into affect.

I have several friends who went through Manila prior to the summer of 2005 and they all said they were able to the interview within a couple of months of Manila receiving the petition so would appear to have been the norm and not fortunate for the petitioner/beneficiary.

First to post about what?? Can you tell me where I said I was the first to post about anything? Am I in some kind of weird twilight zone? Did you even click on the link that I had posted? The post from before was about premium processing for petitions at USCIS. Nothing more nothing less. Just because USCIS agrees to process employment based petitions faster for $1,000 doesn't mean there are more of them! There is a numerical limit on employment based petitions. Premium processing only affects USCIS processing, there is no agreement for DOS to process thoses visas any faster. So we have evidence that you have a friend who got an interview in 2 months and Jasman0717 here who got an interview on 2 months. So 2 couples out of thousands and you state that it's the norm. Take a look at Jasman0717's timeline, he filed 2 weeks before IMBRA took effect. Than they had their interview scheduled while 10,000 petitions were held up at USCIS due to IMBRA. Duh Gee!! I'm sure that had nothing to do with it.

Well, I took a look at Jim's timeline and he actually filed a year and two weeks before IMBRA took affect, better get your facts straight too. Up until the summer of 2005 many were going through Manila in just a couple of months and then the embassy increased visa issuances but not in the K area. It is too bad Manila doesn't publish the list of visa interviews each month, that list certainly did show an increase of other visa petitions.

So anyway, what was it you said, "Duh gee", I know IMBRA had nothing to do with 2005, it didn't take affect until March 2006 genius.

We made it out to White Island in the early morning. My fiance does not dig the sun like I do.

We went to : Soda Springs, Ardent Cold Water Spring, Hot Spring (Which was my favorite place to relax in a pool of water 37 Celsuis), We went to Volcano Observation Station and enjoyed the cool weather up there. Went to a couple of cool waterfalls.

I will try to post some pics of the places.

One day we rented Motorbikes and cruised all over the island.

It was a blast there.

We took my friend's SUV on the ferry so were able to drive all over the island. I am going to try to post the picture of the Ardent sign but am not sure I remember how

Good luck with the documents. Did you get a chance to check out Johnny's Dive Shop? They have great room rates, excellent food and wonderful diving spots including the reef off White Island. We stayed in the Paris Beach Resort next door to Johnny's but next time it will be all Johnny's.

We stayed a Golden Sunset and it was 1400 peso per night, and a great place with the White Island in front this place.

Only Diving I did was in the bed between the sheet.

But I will be back to Camigun, I have been to Hawaii, Tahati, Cancun, lots of the Caribbean and this place ranks up there in beauty.

Did you go out to White Island? We spend about 4 hours snorkling and had a blast. The coral is a bit rough on the feet but other than that, Camiguin is a great place. We did the water falls places and the hot pools. We also went up into the mountain for lunch at a mountain resort but don't remember the name and did Italian dinner but again forget the name of the place.

Thanks for the responses. I have a friend living in the Philippines and would like to come back to the U.S. at least for a couple of years so wants to file for his wife and adopted son. I assume the CR/IR path would be the correct way for him to go. I don't know if Manila does DCF or not.

USCIS Service CentersNOA2 approved Aug 19th , STILL not received by NVC??

I've given up trying to talk to a real person at NVC for now.  My phone battery died, waiting on hold this morning.

My fiance says to just relax and not pursue it anymore, let it happen when it happens. I hope we get a notice sometime soon.

Will we get the notice via email or only by mail?

Our NOA2 was August 23rd. It was only 45 days from NOA1 to NOA2, so we were feeling like this was really going to move right along, haa. Still waiting for the notice from NVC. Our NOA2 notice says to wait 30 days before inquiring, so we'll wait til the end of this week, then call. I'm glad I read these messages here! I was beginning to really stress out about the delay, but I see it's normal these days.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Denial after 11 months of AP

I wish I knew! I saw your post and just wanted to tell you how sorry I am that happened. It's so sad how they can play with the lives of others as if they mean nothing at all. My fiance has his interview on January 2nd. From what I understand, it's become the common things in Algeria to not say yes or no to a visa at the interview, but instead to say the case needs more processing, then ignore it while the applicants make attempts for along time to find out what is happening. I'm very worried.

I'm surprised, a live person took my call on the 2nd ring, no elevator music to listen to!

He said he doesn't know why it tells me an interview date has been provided to us, but that's been happening to a lot of people lately.

He said Algeria does it's own interview scheduling and we have to wait for a letter.

Now I can stop panic mode. Thank you again for giving me the number to call!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNeed to get CERTIFIED divorce docs a 2nd time for interview?

A friend who is also applying for her Algerian fiance just got her letter saying it's time to gather requested info, get the medical & set up an appointment for an interview. She sent me a scan of the letter so I can get a heads up on what to expect. Here's what I copied from that letter.....

Termination of Prior Marriage: Applicant and petitioner who have been previously married must obtain evidence of the termination of EACH prior marriage. Evidence must be in the form of original documents issued by a competent authority, or certified copies bearing the appropriate seal or stamp of the issuing authority as a final divorce decree, annulment or death certificate.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNeed to get CERTIFIED divorce docs a 2nd time for interview?

To file our k1 fiance visa petition, I had to obtain certified divorce documents. Considering that was out of the country, it took a lot of time and effort to get that, not to mention it wasn't cheap! I see the embassy where my fiance will be interviewed will ask him to bring (among many other things) certified divorce documents when he has his interview. What happened to the docs I sent with the petition?! Do I have to start over again, calling the country of the divorce to again request certified docs? Last time it took 5 weeks to get them. I have COPIES of the certified documents I sent with the petition, but I am assuming that's not acceptable?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNo apponitments available. What now?!

We have an appointment for Januray 2. At first January 27 was what came up as the next available, so I took that. Later when I saw Jan 2, I cancled and set a new appt for that date.  My fiance has his medical appt on Dec 19.  I sent him a package containing a lot of evidence of our relationship and the support docs, tax returns etc. which reached him last week.

I was thinking we should discuss the interview and what may be asked, what he should say, etc, etc, etc, but he told me talking about it will only make us anxious, so we shouldn't dwell on it. He'd prefer to just go in there and wing it...so I'm keeping my anxious feelings to myself.

Today I was so excited to be able to schedule my fiance's visa interview appointment...then I get this, "There are currently no appointments available."

Below this message is 3 calendar months, Oct. Nov. Dec. What happens now? Do I just keep checking back to see if this changes? I wonder if  because Jan starts a new year, maybe there won't be any dates posted beyond Dec 31 til 2014 begins. As my dad used to say, I'm so low, you could scrape me off the floor with a spatula.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionConsulate asking for new affidavit of support

Since you sent supporting evidence to back up the taxes, I don't know what else they could be asking for. That is so strange :(

You sent W2?  The consulate asked me to specifically send taxes WITH a W2 to show where the income information came from on the tax returns.

To back up the income I'm reporting on my taxes, I'm including copies of 1099 (when it finally arrives), receipts from clients who paid cash, receipts from craft sales, etc.

I think 4 years of taxes should be more than enough! If there's a savings and/or checking account, give them proof of that. If there's no accounts, you could try to find a new sponsor to back up your current sponsor.

Aspen7FemaleAlgeria2014-01-27 14:39:00
US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionConsulate asking for new affidavit of support

My fiance had his interview on January 2nd. The consulate was Kelly Lang. She asked for more proof of on going contact between us over the past two years we've known each other. I have that together. The other thing she wants is a new affidavit of support, using my 2013 taxes (I'm self employed) and if possible, a second sponsor. My brother will do that for us. Here we are on the 27th, twenty-five days after the interview, waiting....waiting...waiting for both of our 1099s for 2013! I'm becoming very concerned over how long it's been since the interview. My fiance' thinks we should send both the proof of on going contact and the affidavits at the same time in one email. I'm thinking it may be best if I send the requested proof of contact to the consulate, with an explanation that we're still waiting for our 1099s. My worry is that we're waiting much too long to provide what the consulate requested.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionReady after interview?

I posted my question just before I went to bed around 1am.

I just woke and checked it again. ISSUED!  I'm so excited I feel nauseous and shaky.

Aspen7FemaleAlgeria2014-02-02 10:45:00
US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionReady after interview?

My fiance had his interview on January 2. The consulate asked to see more messages between us and a new sponsor because my income wasn't enough. She said another interview would not be needed, just send PDF's of the requested items. We provided those things, and saw that we were in "further administrative processing" for 7 days. Now it has just changed to "Ready". When you get the word "Ready" AFTER the interview, and you know you're not supposed to have a second interview, does this mean we have been approved for the visa or what????

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAnyone else go from NOA1 to NOA2 in 6 weeks?

Thank you! We're ecstatic. We expected to wring our hands and count days through autumn...Christmas...and on in to deep winter just to get to this point.

If both centers are going quickly now, then a lot of anxious people here may be celebrating very soon. My fiancee is getting his passport renewed this week (the current one is only good til Januray) and 15 vaccinations in the coming week or two. Meanwhile I'll deal with the support documents, then we wait for the next notice.

I have no idea how long we can expect to to wait for his interview.
