Good evening Everyone,

I am in need of assistance from my fellow female VJ'ers from Brazil.

Not to be graphic in by any means, but I am needing help in understanding the specific exams which you were required to undertake for your medical. I found out today from my fiance that she will need to endure a number of exams with a physican which she does not know and feels completely uncomfortable about. Further, she advised me that there will be a test about the condition of her back that could possibly disqualify her...which I certainly do not understand (she has a lower back problem).

Any input or feedback you could provide I would appreciate very much.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

She don´t have to worry about the medical exam.
They will request a sifilis and HIV test and a X-ray of the lung.
The doctor will also ask her a few questions about her health (nothing to worry about).
Is very quick...and when she received the envelope with the results, pls don´t open the sealed one. That one she needs to bring sealed to the interview, also inside the medical exam packet, there´s hers results, so she can see if there´s something wrong or not.
Normally when there´s something wrong, the doctor will talk to the person before deliver the tests.

Good luck!

What about gynological exam items (specific female "tests")? Did you have to endure these? Were you able to use your own female doctor to confirm these tests for the consulate physican?

No...the embassy doctor will perform all the tests and examination..and the gynological one is more like questions...he don´t even touch her.
She don´t have to go to her person doctor or anything, the embassy doctor will take care and u don´t have to go after anyone to confirm any kind of test.

People, this is more informative, ok?
Today was my interview and i was worry because i didn´t had the original of my fiance divorce certificate.
They didn´t even asked for any original documents from his side (just to be clear, i had to show MY originals since i´m the beneficiary) ...i had it all, the only thing that was missing was the blessed divorce certificate...not even a notarized copy i had...
That doesn´t mean that the CO won´t ask for it, or maybe i was just lucky.
So the tip is: if u don´t have a particular original document from your fiance side, DON´T EVEN mention to the CO...he probably won´t ask anyway...

Good luck for all...

Thanks for sharing! I know you said you didn't need to bring your sponsor's paperwork but if in the checklist they ask you to bring "financial evidence" - are they referring to the tax returns the sponsor submitted originally to prove the beneficiary would be financially okay?

The documents that they ar looking for are: income tax return, w2 form and a letter from his employer.
I didn´t even brought statement from an officer of the bank.

I hope that i could help

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRomoving conditions next month
Hello, I have a simple question about the fee that I have to pay for the I-751 form.
I was reaging and say that the fee for the form is $505 + $85 for the biometrics.
My question is: should I write only 1 check for the full amount ($590) or 2 different ones for $505 and $85?

Thank you!

Does anyone know if the Embassy is going to keep the pics, phone and chat records?
I´m asking that because i have almost 90 pics of us and thousands of pages of phone bills and chat logs and i´m not doing any extra copy of anything.

Thx

When I got my interview they send it back the pictures, chat logs and all other evidences for the on-going relationship. Wow that too many I only showed seven pictures of us together. star_smile.gif

Great...thx a lot!
I´m going to scan 10 pics, and they can keep the chat and phone recordas if they want.
I was worry about my pics...i don´t want to leave my beautiful pics at the Embassy.

I´ll reply after the interview on Tuesday.

I´m going to Rio de Janeiro tomorrow and i know that God will provide the blessing.

Some countries require you to get approval from their foreign ministry before they permit you to leave on a K1. For instance, the Philippines has a seminar K-1s must attend. I don't know if Brazil does anything like this, but I would have thought the US Embassy would have known about it and told you if there was such a requirement there.

Ok people...i just got back from my interview today and we were approved...THANK GOD...
I will write later what happened during the interview, but first i need to know one thing:
Does anyone know something about an EXIT INTERVIEW?
My future husband told me something about that but i asked a few people at the interview and no one knows anything about it.
Brazilian community, does any one know?
What i read was: Purpose: To receive the K-1 visa
Just to be clear, here in Brazil u can stop at the embassy to pick up your passport or u can choose the deliver option, that´s what i did.
I´ll be waiting the replies...

PS: i will do my time line, i´m just checking the dates before...don´t worry..

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI 94 expired and need help
Well, here is my situation:
I've got married jun12 2009 and i had no idea that we had to apply for the adjustment of status within 90 of my arrival.
We sent the pappers monday and i forgot to include the EAD. Now i'm thinking if i can apply for that since my I 94 expired almost 2 months ago.
I didn't received any information that i could apply for a SSN before the adjustment of status pappers and now i'm so mad about it.
Does any one knows if i'm going to have a problem to apply for the EAD since my I 94 is expired?

Thx a lot

Thx for teh reply, but i still can't understand what they want.
I don't have any document about the vacines that i took back in Brazil, that document is with my exams, so how should i fill the vacines part?
The rest of the form is patetic, i did all exams and i've passed, otherwise my visa would be denied.
I'll try to research more to see if this procedures make more sense to me.
Thx a lot!

I need to fill the form I-693 but it's very confusing.
I already did all my medical exams back in Brazil, the results were sent to me in a sealed envelop. Just the consul on my K1-visa interview was able to open the envelop with the results.
After i got my visa, the brazilian embassy sent me a huge packet with all the information of my process, including my medical and vacines.
Now the USCIS want me to do that again?
They already have my results and my vacine record.
How should i proceed now?
Thx a lot

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAOS question
Thx a lot!

As far as I know they won't require to see Police Certificates this time around. Bring your original and translated Birth Certificate and all other documentation you sent with your AOS Packet + any new documents that prove your bonafide marriage and that you two live together.

About the I-94 I believe it shouldn't be a problem but for peace of mind translate it yourself and write on the bottom of the translation the little statement like Mrs. Silverman advised.

The i-94 could be in english but sometimes the document is in portuguese too (that happend all the time). Sometimes they were out of the english verison.
About the police certificates, i never had to translate those, that's why i'm asking.

1. Shouldn't the I-94 be in english, since it's an US document?

2. I would bring everything you sent initially, just in case.

I don't think they will ask for the police certificates. I already have my birth certificate translated.

We will be sending the Adjustment of Status document on the mail this week.
We didn't had the money to pay for earlier.

90 days from June 2 was August 31, if my calculations are correct. So you are going on 60 days out of status. You need to file AOS as soon as possible. You did marry within the 90 days, so you are still eligible to adjust. But—unless I'm mistaken—you are currently out of status; you need to rectify that by filing for AOS without any further delay.
