Hi Everyone, Thank you always for your help,

 

Well, my green card has been issued and should have been delivered to my home in the States.  My friend is going to check my mail again today since I am in japan on vacation.  (I hope she has already found it!!)

So my question is that I am in Japan until the end of this month.  I wonder if I will be in a trouble if I go back to the States without a new green card?  I didn't expect it would be issued that quick (it's good thing though!).  I have a passport, an expired green card and original NOA1.  I do not feel comfortable to ask my friend to mail my new green card to Japan.. you know we don't know what would happen with an international mail.  

What do you think, everyone?

Hi I am actually in Tokyo and just checked my status on USCIS page, and Wow it says The USPS reported that they picked up mail from USCIS containing your new card on August 9, 2013. So seems like I am already approved!!  That is so soon and I didn't expect it at all.  Good.  I won't be back to Japan until the end of this month, but my friend is planning on checking my mail in the States.  So hopefully it arrives safe and sound!!  Keep you guys updated!!

I see, previously you said no one would be checking you mail and that you were leaving for summer so I assumed you would be gone for a few months. You should be fine then. Good luck! :)

Yeah, I know what you mean, yet I will still talk to USCIS. Better than not doing anything. I'm not saying im leaving here for months. So I guess I should be okay somehow since my friend will be checking mails. I will go check ROC forum, too.

 
I'm sure this won't hurt but if they decide to interview you, they will send you an interview appointment letter, regardless of you notifying them that he will be deployed. I would be very nervous leaving the country for months, knowing that I might receive the letter while I'm abroad. Do you have any friends that can check your mail while you're away? I won't hurt to call USCIS either, but the people on the helpline are not trained to give advice in situations like this so I doubt they'll be very helpful. I suggest you post your situation in general ROC forum where more members (and more experienced ones) can see it and give you advice.

Thank you, DNIEPU for advice.  My husband wrote a letter to USCIS and we included his official deployement order along with I-751 when we filed, so I hope they noted his deployement information.  I will call USCIS to let them know our situation.. and see what happens. :))

Yeah, but one problem is that while I am in abroad, there is nobody who checks my mails, so I don't think I will request a resuchedule especially when my husband is deployed to the middle east.  I just do hpe I won't et an interview though..  Thank you again, Chris.

Now, I am planning on going back to japan for summer since my husband is deployed... just wondering what I should do if I received a letter for an interview while I am in Japan though...

Finally received NOA today (5.13).  NOA date is 4.22.  dancin5hr.gif

I so hope I will receive a biometrics appointment letter soon.  I am planning on going to Japan in summer.  Especially since my husband is deployed, I really want to go home for a while.  luv.gif

I don't understand why I haven't received NOA yet since cash is cleared on the 7th.  I will call USCIS next Tuesday.. it's been amost 30 days. sigh.. I really don't have a good feeling about this..

I didn't update my change of address though, just in case I finally did it today online.  Not sure if it was necessary in this moment. Since I put my  ew address in I-751 form and also DNIEPU received NOA, I am hopeful!! :))

My check was cleared 5/8/2013.  I just checked my post now, and I didn't receive NOA1. 

I moved to a new place a while before filing I-751 though, does it matter?  I did put a new address in I-751 form, so I really did not worry about it though.. Since it's taking so long, I have started to wonder.  If I don't recieve NOA1 until next Tuesday, I will call service center.  I hope we all get NOA soon!!

Sent I-751 on April 16th, CSC received on April 22nd.

It assures me to know that I'm not an only one who is taking so long to receive NOA1. As of today, I still haven't received NOA1 yet, not to mention my check isn't cashed, either.
Sigh,,, well, hope we all receive it soon... Don't know why it's been taking so long.
