Our petition got to VSC on June 4 and they dated our notice June 6. I received the NOA1 notice in the mail on June12.

I was able to get our NOA1 from the back of my check that was cleared. I did not even have to wait until check comes back - I was able to see it online! Check the back of the cashed check: the NOA1 would be the one that starts with EAC08 and then 8 more numbers.

I haven't made a post for a while but today is a cause for celebration. My fiancée had her interview today and it was successful! After 11 long months since we filed our petition with USCIS, and for those of you who have been following our case know the many frustrations we went through trying to get USCIS to correct an error they made, know how happy we are to finally be completed with this process!
To those of you new to this website it is a wonderful recourse and don't be afraid to share your frustrations and ask for assistance. How do you put touches in the timeline?


You enter them into "Comments" field like this "07/08/08 - touched; 07/09/08 - touched".

The list itself is being updated every couple of hours (you can see when it was last updated on the very top of the webpage), which means it pulls the data from your timeline as well as other timelines every couple of hours.

How often does the list pull last updates, and where from? Does that reflect those touches?


The IGORS list is being updated evry couple of hours or so (according to what I see). I think it pulls info from VJ Members' timelines.

To update your timeline go to Immigration Timelines on top of the page, then choose Edit My timeline and enter the date into NOA2 date field.

don't worry. It seems like a regular pattern at VSC: you get double touch and then nothing until approval. I have done some research whistling.gif and it seems to me that majority of the approvals comes in 8-9 weeks after "double-touch".

When you get your NOA1, just create an account with USCIS. Every time you log into your account look at the "Last Updated" date: if there is a change from last time - your case was "touched". star_smile.gif Good luck!

Well if you have the last 4 numbers, and are quite anxious about getting it wink.gif , you can always figure it out. Here's how it breaks down...

Example - WAC 08 143 5 1234

WAC - California Service Center (formerly Western Adjudication Center)

08 - The fiscal year of USCIS, from October 1 to September 30. (Cases filed from 10/01/2006 to 09/30/2007 will have xx = 07)
143 - The working day of the fiscal year when your case is received. 10/01 = 001
5 or 0 - Either 5 (in database) or 0 (paper files) ... K1's are put into database
1234 - A serial number assigned to your case based on the number of cases received, starting from 0001

I mailed the I-129F petition package to VSC on June 6, 2008 and received NOA1 on June 11. Since then our case has been "touched" twice. Hope it's a good sign! unsure.gif

We all wait for these "touches" as a sign that our cases are not just sitting in some boxes. However, from what I've been reading on this site, these touches may not mean anything.

Also, I am looking at the statistics, and it's obvious that VSC is experiencing slow-down at this time. sad.gif But I am trying to stay positive smile.gif

I check my case almost everyday and my boyfriend told me already to relax LOL..
I know that touches dont mean anything but at least they are signs that they are "touching" the case LOL......I know, the VSC is getting slow with the processes.....but let's be positive and very patient..

I check progress of our case every day too wacko.gif I filed petition for my boyfriend and cannot wait until petition is approved! I know it's a long wait, but I want the process to be over already.

By the way, one of the "touches" on our case happened on June 21 (which was Saturday). Someone told me here that VSC is working weekends too, so I am checking the USCIS' website on weekends also.

And of course I am trying to stay positive! yes.gif
