CanadaMontreal's attitude after THEY made a mistake

I'm not tryin gto pick a fight, but how can u LIVE in the USA for fifteen years? Where you on another type of visa? Hope it works out. if your on a cr-1 or ir-1, mtl is the only place in Canada to do the interview.

my family went to the us when yugoslavia was falling apart, seeking refugee status. they kept neither denying us nor approving us, but just asking for more documents and info on the country. which then split in serbia and montenegro, so a whole new case and problem presented itself. especially since neither would say we were citizens of their countries, so no birth certificates and passports were not valid. just all sorts of ####### kept happening. then it kept taking years to get another court date. then our lawyer got fired, so WE had to reschedule and wait more years. it was just a huge mess. but we were always under valid status, paid taxes, all that stuff.

CanadaMontreal's attitude after THEY made a mistake
see my husband's post about what happened, his vj name is bowflex. i'm too heartbroken and in a rage to talk more about it.

basically we had all our applications approved, all supporting documents, the consulate officer was so rude and wouldn't look at ANYTHING we gave her. i don't understand why :( she just kept being rude to me and snapish and a b*tch. why wouldn't she look at our things? isn't that what the interview was for? she didn't ask us ONE question about our relationship. just said denied cause i was in the us unlawfully for over 180 days. she pulled that out of her BUUUUTT. i was NEVER there unlawfully.

so our lawyer sent in asking for them to review and actually look at our documents. they said 7-10 days. michigan senator called them the next day, montreal called them and fed them ####### about looking at it ASAP so they won't call again. we wait two weeks, we call, they say oh it's on her desk. WE FREAKING LOOK AT IT YOU #w^$#&#@^# 6$^$^@$%@.

IT WAS YOOOOOOOOOOOOUR "MISTAKE"

our lawyer called, she was told call back couple days. we call back couple days and the lady went OFF on my husband yelling why we were calling so early, and now it's gonna be 4-6 MORE weeks.

&%^# (&*^$%$*&)*

HOW CAN SHE JUST NOT LOOK AT ANY OF OUR PAPERS AND DENY ME FOR SOME REASON SHE PULLED OUT OF HER #######

and now we have to wait more months?

can i transfer my case to vancouver? if so, let me know how

I HAVE CONTACTED OUR LOCAL NEWS STATIONS.

I WILL DRAG HER NAME THROUGH ALL THE MUD I CAN FIND. HOW CAN SHE DO THIS? I DID EVERYTHING RIGHT. I WAS PLEASANT AND NICE AND WORE A NICE SUIT TO THE INTERVIEW, HAD MORE DOCUMENTS THAN THEY EVEN ASK FOR, THEN SHE JUST CALLS ME NAMES AND IS RUDE.

and yes, our lawyer has already filed complaints against her with numerous agencies

i've been with my husband for 4 years. i lived in the us for 15 yrs and had no problems. we didn't even get married while i was in the states so it doesnt look fishy. we waited two years after i was in canada.

i did everything right :crying: :crying: :crying:

CanadaMontreal doesn't have our case
according to the montreal answering message, the wait from when they receive it from NVC to the interview is 5-7 months. before it said 2-4 months, but it was much longer for most. i'm sorry, but we all did the waiting, there's nothing much else to do :/ we had our 130 approved april last year and our interview was this past april. and that was before their 5-7 months message. it totally sucks.

quick edit: approved in april, but it didnt get sent to montreal until november

Has anyone contacted the um... person who is at the top of the consulate there? Can't remember their title.

Would contacting the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa do any good? Do they oversee the U.S. consulates in Canada?

What a mess... hang in there!

we've tried contacting both. consulate general was unreachable at that time, and the embassy said to call montreal and deal with them, they don't intervene with their decisions and other *poop*

i've already missed 6 weeks of paychecks, too. i can't sign another one year contract here like offered and i keep having to tell the job offers in michigan "i'm out of town for a couple weeks" blah blah blah.

and this is a long weekend, and the following is a long weekend, and then couple weeks later they're closed monday again, then fourth of july.....

we're going camping this weekend and i think there will be much drinking, hah :/

we can't keep playing their game. we met when i was still a teenager, i grew up with him, we waited years to get married, there's nothing fishy, there's nothing wrong. i miss seeing him every day. i miss being able to plan things, i miss coming from work or school and driving to his hockey games. i miss crocheting with him mom. i miss partying with friends. i miss my friends. i miss the house. i even miss how cold he always kept the bedroom. i miss everything. i already know what it's like to be with him and spend every day with him...not worrying about anything but what we're going to eat tonight. i miss EVERYTHING. i grew up there. i can't believe this is happening. and how easy i keep reading it is for everyone else. we're looking into leaving our friends and family and seeing what other countries are favorable. english speaking of course.

we just want to be together again :crying:

what is WRONG with this woman :crying:

WHAT THE FAAAAAAAAAAAAACK

so i called the senator and the lady said she has record of them saying they received it. well duuuuuh, our lawyer does too and so do we, but now it seems the lady just .. i dunno... dismissed it? thrown it away? burned it? wiped her behind with it?

SO WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE IT IS OR WHAT'S GOING ON WITH IT AND THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO, SENATOR WON'T CALL UNTIL THE 3RD, OUR LAWYER CAN'T GET THROUGH, WE'RE NOT GETTING ANY INFO AND NOW THEY DON'T HAVE A RECORD OF IT?
:girlwerewolf2xn: :girlwerewolf2xn: :girlwerewolf2xn: :girlwerewolf2xn:

i don't understand what she's waiting for. she's told our lawyer they were on her desk 4 weeks ago. it should be papers she claimed to have already read and reviewed, so i don't understand. husband's dad is calling and contacting washington today; both are ready to get a plane and go if needed, plane tickets already priced. his mom is contacting the local news stations... again.

as for me... no one will even talk with me, i'm "just the beneficiary" and they treat me even worse and with more attitude.

why do the illegal immigrants get all the attention? i will never understand.

i wonder how many times she's gotten away with this sort of b.s. since she didn't think twice to just blatantly lie.

sigh <_<

oh, also, lawyer said consulate basically told that that the reason it hasn't been looked at was in fact because we, the lawyer, and senator called "so much". well, dumbass, that is abusing your power and being a stubborn little #######. that is not how the law should work, that is not how any of this should work. in any kind of occupation. if any of us pulled this kind of b.s. at work, we'd be fired so quickly.

we (well, my husband) just got back from a meeting with our lawyer (waste of his lunch hour).

he basically said no sense in calling, just wait it out.

i don't think so.

it was supposed to be "couple of days" and it's almost 6 weeks. this lady is being a baby, a b*tch, and stubborn (among other things and choice words). i'm tired of suckin everyone's ####### to get answers. doesn't seem like being nice and polite does anything. not that we will stop being so, but it just doesn't seem like anything gets done as a result except them being rude back and knowing there's nothing we can say or want to cause they hold the golden key :girlwerewolf2xn:

zyggy, how can we get into contact with the people you mentioned? this is getting ridiculous now. i will also im you, in case you don't make it to this thread.
mrsserendipityFemaleCanada2007-05-14 13:49:00
CanadaUpdate on our Case being processed after Denial
we just called

nothing new

hasnt looked at it

5 weeks and counting, was supposed to take "a couple of days"

my heart's broken

if she felt so strongly about it and knew she was right, she'd have done it asap and thrown it in our faces, right? so she MUST have realized her mistake? right? :/

she could've just said "oh i must've missed (such and such) paper" and asked us to mail in the passport, but she has decided to be a baby ("oh you're gonna have your lawyers and senator call, well it's just gonna take longer and longer" and she told that to our senator, too).

she also knows my time here in canada might be limited as well, which she was briefed on from our senator, but now she's just waiting it out and hoping i have to leave before she makes a decision?

thing is, canada's being nice to me :) they realize how difficult it is to get a birth certificate from a country that is no longer... well... a country (yugoslavia). serbia has made their statement that we are not welcome in their country. no place to go.

i feel like a nomad. maybe my canadian citizenship will come before she makes a decision, and i can apply for hubby to come here. canada's so much nicer and has extended their times for us and listened. but my friends and home is in the US, and i miss seeing my husband every day, and hanging out with his mom (who was and is one of my best friends).

i missed being there for our nieces and nephew. i want to go and visit his grandma, she's been through so much lately but keeps hanging on so she can see me and hubby together again.

i'm broken :clock:

CanadaBig ol' fun times camping with you Canadians :)

Yeah.. it's too bad theyt're building a Wal-Mart in its place.. that place will be the death of that town...

for sure. i mean not only will most of the small stores close cause they can't compete with the prices, but they won't advertise in the newspaper. the echo won't survive. sun media already wanted to close us down when i was working there, but it was neither making them lose money nor earn profit, so they kind of let it go, hah. it's a shame, i really enjoyed that town. i didn't even mind the long drive to and from. plus i need the echo to survive cause they're my references for work, haha

Canadawhat to bring when crossing the border

Don't CR-1/IR-1s get a sealed envelope along with their visa in their passport to bring to the POE? K1s and K3s do. It's got the medical info ####### in there with a bunch of other stuff like your application forms, passport photos (I snuck a peek when I was at the POE) and it says "do not open" on it.

no, still waiting.

hmm, i dunno. the mean lady at the "interview" didn't even look at or take my xrays or most of our documents, she just came and was biatchy and we took things back with us.

anyone on a cr-1 know? did you receive anything with the passport?

this isn't the medical exam envelope, right? we needed that for the INTERVIEW. why would they need it at the POE, too, if the consulate said it was ok? hmmm. they would've opened it there anyway, so it wouldn't have been sealed still.

Canadawhat to bring when crossing the border

Bring the sealed envelope too. :) You don't need to bring any forms if you're moving everything yourself. Just have an itemised list ready with approximate value of items to speed things along. They probably won't even ask to see it. They may not even look at your stuff. Not sure if they will issue you an I-94... if they do, it costs $6 or $7 USD. They may or may not photograph and fingerprint you. They didn't do that with me (entered at Peace Bridge, Fort Erie).

Bringing the approved petitions isn't necessary but when I crossed the border, I had my entire visa file with me just in case. All they really need is the visa in your passport and the sealed envelope.

Have a good crossing!

sealed envelope? what envelope?

besides my passport/visa of course. i'm not bringing my car over, so i don't have to worry about that. i'll just have my clothes and computer, hah. as far as documents, what will i be asked for? any questions i should be ready to answer? will be i fingerprinted and all that? should we have some cash on us? are there any documents THEY should be giving me/ i need to ask for? i have an immigrant visa, not non-immigrant, if that makes any difference. should i have copies of our approved applications? thanks!

Ok, first, on my !-134 question seven it says i have on deposit in savings banks in the U.S. This is savings accounts only, not including checking accounts, correct??

Next. I'll be going to the interview with my fiance, i do not have a passport yet, I know i can drive into Canada with just a birth certificate and drivers license but what about getting into the embassy??

Sorry if these are stupid questions, but I had to ask!!

visas are issued in the passports, you'd need to obtain one :/ i've heard them described as stamps/stickers. they go right in the passports themselves.

anytime bowflex or i call, we get attitude, then lawyer (or senator) calls and suddenly it's "oh we JUST received it, will review" "oh she JUST got it on her desk, will review" "oh, it's been 5 weeks? will review" "oh, it's approved, have them send passport" "oh, it's been a couple weeks again? she JUST printed it out"

and the part that pisses us off most-- there was never any reason for any of this extra waiting, original denial, there was never anything fishy in our case, they never asked anything about our relationship just my time in the US when i was there, then when months have passed they give no reason no explanation no apology no nothing, just send in passport, well if you had just read my documents the first time all of this could've been avoided. and yes, we both look young, we are not. he has good genes and i moisturize and avoid the sun and eat right, lol.

in fact his birthday is the day he'd be coming to pick me up, if all works well and they actually did what they said they did this time

If you want to delete that particular post, check with one of the moderators to see if they have the ability to do that, other than that you'll have to message Captain Ewok.
