US Citizenship General DiscussionSame day oath?
I also found that out today. I had the 10:40pm time in PDX so missed the cutoff.

I'm now going to head down to Redmond next week to take the oath there so I can be a citizen before voting cutoff.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionOh crap!!! incorrect dates
Got the I-551, it reads valid until 1st November 2005, I reckon tomorrow I shall be speaking with my employers and seeing if I can get a few hours to head downtown. I'm sure they can't just tell me to leave straight away...can they?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionOh crap!!! incorrect dates
Just had a look at the paperwork that came with the card, it thankfully has the correct dates on it stating that I must apply for removal of conditions between August 3rd and October 31st 2006. That relieves a big worry. eau_explain, I will be taking your advice and booking an Infopass for the Spring break, I'm guessing here that it will involve paperwork, money and fingerprinting for a new card. I believe this will be the 5th time they have taken my fingerprints!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionOh crap!!! incorrect dates
So a quick timeline, moved to Oregon on May 13th 2004 on K1, managed to get Employment Authorisation at entry point in Vancouver, BC (US Customs), married on July 17th 2004, around the start of November 2004 we had out interview here in Portland, all went well and a few weeks later the lovely and well detailed Permanent Resident Card appeared and we thought nothing of it. Just today I started thinking about it all again and when I should be applying to have the conditional status removed, upon actually looking at the card i've noticed the Resident Since line appears as 03/09/04 and the expiry date as 03/09/06!!! Now correct me if i am wrong here but I am presuming they are using US date standard of MM/DD/YY instead of UK which would of course mean my card espires TOMORROW! How can this be? I wasn't even in the country on the 9th March 2004, I was still freezing my buns off in Scotland. I'm thinking here that the INS has put on the wrong dates accidentally but I can't gt in to see them until Spring Break in a couple of weeks due to work, come to think of it, should I even be working seeing as on the back of the card it has the nice line 'The person identified by this card is authorized to work and reside in the U.S.', which of course by their terms means I shouldn't be permitted to be here or work after tomorrow!

Any thoughts? Any help? Anyone know of a cheap airfare?

United KingdomHELP!!
Hi Everyone,

Help! We applied for the K1 and received our NOA1 a couple of weeks ago. We just found out that we are going to have a baby yesterday. If we were to get married now, would it affect us getting the visa? Has anyone else been in this position? We are just so confused now, it's unreal!

Thank you for anything anyone might know!!

United KingdomEntering the US during application for a K1 visa
Hi,

I wondered if anyone has any experience of entering the United States after submitting a petition for a K1 visa? I'd like to visit (on the VWP) my boyfirend for Christmas, but my boyfriend sent the petition for the visa last week.

Thanks!

Nicola
