CanadaUnique situation - lost passport, but now married

You are so right Flames9_RN - there still are honest people out there, and I'm so very thankful for whomever turned my passport in - it totally made my week.

CanadaUnique situation - lost passport, but now married

PASSPORT HAS BEEN FOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm soooo very happy - the DMV called back and said that somebody had found it in the parking lot, but it was placed in a different spot, and when I called to see if I had left it there, they hadn't realized it was put in the "international/non-citizens" booth. They looked me up and called. I'm so VERY relieved - Thanks everyone for all your help - I'm just glad that I don't need it! :) Great day.

Can I use the PPTC 132 "Statutory Declaration in Lieu of Guarantor" form, as the guarantor I had used is deceased.

I think I'm screwed then - I don't know ANYBODY out here who is a Canadian citizen, let alone eligible to be a guarantor.

Sorry for using INS instead of USCIS.

CanadaUnique situation - lost passport, but now married

I'm in a bit of a pickle and would appreciate any information that you can share with me.

Three days ago I recieved approval for my permanent residence status ( I-485) adjustment here in the USA (New Hampshire.) Unfortunately, sometime between then and now, I lost my passport (we suspect it fell out of my purse but we went to several stores and malls in both NH and MA since the interview and have no idea where that was lost.)

The situation is -  the passport was issued in my maiden name, I was advised to keep it handy and bring it to all my INS meetings (there were several,) and wait for my adjustment of status interview/approval to apply for the passport in my married name.

I plan to notify passport Canada tomorrow about the lost passport - do I need to report that I lost it to the police?

My other question is - now that I'm married, is there a different process now that I have to have my name changed on the passport?

Also - with regards to the guarantor part - I don't know anyone out here who has a Canadian passport and meets all the guarantor requirements. I do know my husband's Doctor, and have known him for more than 5 years - would he be an acceptable guarantor, or does it have to be a Canadian Citizen holding a Canadian passport?

Sorry for all the questions, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.
