K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresContact number
Hello all. Has been over a month since we have sent off our change of status papers for the green card. I am hoping we have not come into the same problem when I sent off her initial appilication for the I-129. The mailing address was sent to my physical adress not mailing. I think is time to call and see what is going on. What is the contact number? We were married 30 days before visa expired and package sent off just after that. Not hearing from them is starting to get the nerves rattled. I should of attacted the e-mail slash text notification request form when I sent in the package but was in too much hast to get it sent in and didn't relize what the attachment was for till after sent off the package. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionProof of financial support
Hello all. Just about to get all our ducks in live for the interview. Which will be sometime later this month or early October. I am woundering if the proof I have snet is ample to prove suport. yes I make more than double what is required. I have sent 3 years of tax returns and w-2s from my work place and as well as retirement from the military. sent a signed bank letter showing annual deposits, an employment letter showing my position as well as lengh of employment. have a friend that says I need to add account information as well as bank statements for the past year also. Is that really needed or is what I have supplyed allready ample to show my ability to suport. And yes I know more is always beter. but really isn't the requirement proven with what I have allready given? Thanks in advance for your replys.

PhilippinesAdventure begins
Hello to all in the same boat and traveling to find happyness!

After 3 years of waiting we have finallly gotten our petition sent in. I mailed it in certified over night through the post office to the CSC paid with a money order from the post office. We are excited kicking.gif I came across this site back in December and have been reading the many post and watching the many jounreys of the members here. We have met in person 4 times the last being in October
We have tons of proof of relationship. hand written letters, pictures of our times together over the years plane tickets. We even share a business together. Just a simple internet cafe there but is help to suport her till the aproval of here petition and our marrage.
I am gathering the documents for the next step now. So My question for now is the tax return for last year being 08 that is and w-2's enouh to show suport. I more than make the required amount. I have been told by another that I need 3 years of returns and one year of bank records for proof. I can get these of course but just don't want to do things that are unnessary when I could be using my time and resources for other things.
besides the financila suport question one more about the CFO. I have also been told that they want to see handwriten proposal letter and a seperate littler stating I will suport both financially and emotionally. Again no problem but is that really needed?
Thats for this site and I hope all your journeys run fast safe and happy.

I have been fortunate to have traveled throughout the world and have seen mostly places that have been torn up by war and ugly things in life. I spent 20 years in the military and was not usually sent on holiday. The first time I was in the Philippines was in 1983. Politically it was different in some ways. But the people there have not changed hardly at all. No people of the Philippines do not have many riches as far as material things. But let me tell you they have a richness that is so rare. They are still very rich in spirit. Very Rich is family values and friendship. Very rich is strong work ethic and loyality to there employers. I hope and pray that some day the United States will find its way back to those kinds of Values and move past the gread and love for money and material things. Success in life in the end is not messured by the things we own but by the people we have helped and the lives we have lived. I am so fortunate to have found my way into the Philippines and to of fallen in love with and loved by a perfect sweet kind woman. I too when am ready to retire will live there. So I have to agree that which was written by some of the other posters. Most do come to the United States to work but always end up going home to the Philippines to retire.

PhilippinesAttitude Change to Live In The philippines
Well Heck I am sure you'll get some interesting relpys to this one. But for the root of your guestion from what I get is that you were suprised by her thinking about moving and retiring in the Philippines and you feel that was left out of earlier duccessions and feel a little deceived. Of course I don't know how you feel or how it was brought up. But do try and remember english is a second langauge for her. As good as it may seem there is things said that are not understond by you or ment to be said by her the way it is either spoken or heard. You took a long journey to get together and must have love to have accomplished that. You ask if anyone her has had similar experiances. I would say close to all. Just from the couple of relpys I have read pretty much shows most of us men that fall in love with these beautifull ladys intend to do just that move to the philippines or at least spend alot of time there. So I don't beleive she ment to deceive you. Just my simple thoughts as others have also said. Communtication is key to any marrage. understanding what is said even more important.
You said you would or at lest thought about that yourself moving to the Philippines. I would think she must of know you have that interest. So talk and share your ideas. come up with the best plan to make you both happy and enjoy your great life together.
As for me. well if you move to the Philippine we may end up as neighbors. I also plan to retire there. Hey I love the US. spent 20 years in the military and would then and now belad to defend it. But I can live a happy carefree life with my future wife in the Philippines. could do so here too but what the heck. Like the site is named life is also a Journey and I enjoy adventures.
Good luck and work out this little missunderstanding

PhilippinesFast Way to Send money to Fiance in Philippines?
Well I have been tackling this problem since 2006. first tried sending a money order by snail mail. Yes not smart. was a waste of time and effort. Westernunion was the fastest way or X-Zoom. not bad but not as efficient as western. but again service charge altho not much was still not the smartest or fastest way. After all this time like I said from 2006 I finally figured out the best way to do a funds transer is to get a prepaid visa or debit card. send it to them set a pin. I got one from Walmart. come with 2 cards one to send one to use on this side to load. cost only 3 dollars to load and they can draw money from any atm and get the bank rate not the rate western says which is always lower. so for 3 dollars and a short wait in line to lod the money is there and avalable to use. simple smart and efficint. Oh yes I did fed-X the card for her to her. I guess you could snale mail it but I perfered to make sure she had it
Anyways is the best way I found to send money when needed. just my two cents

Philippinesschool documents or records
ah ok. She is getting a new passport. and a postal ID. must be a requirement for that then.
Thanks for the reply. a little clearer now good.gif
also suggest to have a hand written letter of proposal and a hand written letter of support for the cfo. does any of that make any sence? No problem to do either just more new information I am getting want to weed out the real from the fiction. blink.gif

Philippinesschool documents or records
I am woundering if this is a requirement or not. School documentation or school records. We have been told that we need these but I don't see or have read anyone here mentioning them. I didn't relize what she was working on till she was complaining about some school adminastrator being away or unreachable to get the records she needs. She has been told she needs them for the embasy interview. Is she just being fed bad info or is this an actual requirement?
adventure509MalePhilippines2009-07-06 20:38:00
PhilippinesCFO ... wow
Got a place for you to get that singleness requirement taken care of.
I heard about that reqiuirement too so found out where you can get a document to fill that bill.
Go to the same place in your area that issues marrage lcenses. Just ask the clerk there for a search with your name for any issued licenses. then he or she will give you a document that has a raised state or local seal on it with a signature stating you are single as far as they are concerened.

ANd yes of course the US government knows your single and is a wasted requirement but is the catholic church that wants additional proof. Is a pain but will work for that requirement.
Hope this helps you out

PhilippinesMAY 2009 FILERS!!!! WHERE U GUYSSSSSSS...??????
Am a May flier as well but unless running faster than normal being 90 to 120 days our wait for NOA to will be closer to the end of August to first of September. Little longer stay strong and write some letter to your other half. Helps pass the time and handwritten letters also helps for additional proof of relationship.

PhilippinesWhat's the best courier to use?
Agree with the Fed X. Save your receipt with the tracking number. Is kinda interesting to watch the odd stops the package takes on its way there. All I have sent usually takes 2 to 3 days to be dilivered.

PhilippinesYour Filipino Wife/Fiancée
Any relationship can be and is full of trials. We can all relate to the trial of time and distance. Trust is a biggie for anyone traveling down the long distance relationship road.

Even with the trials of doughts or lack of trust. For me is not a issue of any kind. Have like other posters have been warned to keep a close eye out for scammers am sure coming form a story friends family have heard for past eperiances and storys heard from whatever sorce.

As for what I am attracted to or a better way of putting it completely hook on is my ladys kind heart or open friendly personality. Her values are for lack of a better phrase is old school. Not all wraped up in the love things generation. She loves life and family and frineds. She holds that way above a shinny neckless or new car. Am attracted to the dream of real true love. I love the caulture and the people she has invited me into, to be part of. In the world of the have and the have nots, the winners and loser in the financial rate race the keep up with the Jones crowd I am more than happy to be in the happy and in true love crowd. A simple lif with a loving lady is the best dream that could ever come ture for me.

PhilippinesWonder what to do next...
You most likly have allready asked or have been told some about her family. Any relationship with a filipno be it as a good friend or as a journey toward marrage you'll learn that family is very high in there DNA. And this is a good wounderfull thing. So if your moving towards the marrage relationship become imformed about the lives of her family and get to know them as well. Plan on an eventual visit to meet her. Since her work has limited schedual some advance planning is important and this is a deal breaker for a visa. I a total must do in order to apply for a visa. having proof of had met in person withing the last 3 years. So when you do meet take nice pictures of you both as a couple. Good luck on your quest good.gif

PhilippinesInterview Tomarrow
Thanks for all the well wishes! Being a site for advice and guidance is for the most part why I joined. But I do have to also say that for me at least I have noticed and have come to beleive this is more than just an information mill. I read earlier a post that said the reader was tired of all the got the pinks, NOA1 filed and or NOA2 noticed received and all the congrats that follow. That poster wanted more exciting threads and topics. He did not get the best part of this site or the great group of people that post here. This is a meeting place fo a community with for the most part have a comon goal.. To be untied with the one they love and want to share there lives with. So when one gets good news one the process and shares all the rest of us are excited and hopfull there shared journey is also running in the same direction to success. I will never get tired of reading or stop feeling happy for anyone that wishes to post progress of there journeys. Still not sure on the direction to go on the buying of a ticket. Will wait most likely. The only important thing is getting past this next hurdle. Will let all know what the result is when I find out. I hope watching the Seahawks try a salvage some of there season tomarrow will distract me a little. Thanks again and keep strong all.

PhilippinesInterview Tomarrow
Finally it all comes down to a couple of hours of waiting hopfully a clear eye of Embasy staff employee and having all the ducks in the correct line. lol. Months of perperation 4 travels to the wounderfull Philipines over 3 years and a strong true loving relationship all now ride on the color of the slip presented at the end of the day. Whatever the outcome I am gratfull to all here that have hleped with my questions and concerns over the past several months. Thankyou again for all the advise and guidance to this point. I know my next thought after the passing of the interview will be when to buy the Golden ticket to bring my lady home. She lives in Las Pinas city kinda a suberb of manila. I see that some get there visas dilivered in just a couple of days and others up to 2 weeks. I am assuming the more swift diliverys are people who live in or close to manila. Am just woundering if buying at ticket for the 27th of October is a ####### shoot or a real safe venture. The smart move I supose is to wait till the visa is in hand. Will be a solid week from interview day to travel date. TO buy a ticket on-line where I find the best deals usually require at least a week advance purchase to insure the clearance of funds. yes the important thing here is success in the interview. just with nothing more to do but waiting I find myself thinking past the interview to the travel. Any suggestions on when I should buy or anyone know where to buy without having the week to clear part. Oh and yes cfo is complete allready all that is left is the visa to be stamped. Thanks again wish all best of luck and speedy journeys to be reunited.

PhilippinesMultiple Flights, any problems with it?
I agree go with SFO not LAX. Reason more traffic into LAX. longer lines harder to navagate that airport. As far as connecting flights go. You will have no problems other than finding the next gate to your final stop. Just make sure you have plenty of time to make the connecting flight. When buying the ticket make sure there is 3 to 4 hours time between your POE and connecting flight. If you complete early check in with the connecting flight and you maybe able to get put on an earlier flight. Don't worrie about connecting flights just give yoursefl the time needed. Congradulations on you visa and success. Have a safe and happy trip.

PhilippinesVisa Dilivered!!!
As with any journeys all start someplace. Ours started over 3 years ago with a flick of the mouse on an icon in a message slection in yahoo chatt. Our journey started with a smily yes.gif Altho our journey is far from over but this part of our journey is over with the period at the end of a Visa. kicking.gif Our journey was not alone. We found a group of people sharing the same experiance. Some allready complete some still praying for the same results as we have had. I thank all of you for the advice and well wishes. Alma messaged me that she received her visa yesterday when I was fast asleep in dream land. Just 3 days to be dilivered. We planed her travel for next week on the 29th just to play it safe. Now the ast part of our journey apart is a weeks worth of waiting. Am sure she will get the stamp on her visa from cfo today all all that will be left for her to do is celibrate with her friends and family. For those still wiating..Stay strong write letters to add to your proof for your relationship. Ask questions when not sure of a document and trust that you'll get the correct response here. Be happy for the love and the future you will have at the end of this journey. Good luck and best of wishes to everyone here.

PhilippinesChina Air WOW!
That is an great price. I just bought one from Northwest that was a couple hundred higher than that. I also have traveled with China air before. Was plesent but there was a lengthy delay and missed connection getting there. The service was very good. They don't have a point of entry in Seattle is why I went with Northwest. Didn't want my lady going thru LAX. Am usre plenty do all they time but just want a smooth eay trip for her.
And as a side Note the Green Dot card thru wal-mart is so easy to use to send money to the philippines. Easy to us at any atm. Low cost to load as well. Only 3 dollars. For me has been the way to go for the past 2 years. good.gif

Every case is different. Mine was touched early because or an incorrect mailing address then not again untill just days before notification of NOA2. On the up side. Does seem like the process is getting quicker. From what I have read on other post some never get touched. Good luck on your journey.

PhilippinesTerminal fees
Ah did get a bit miffed at the suggestion of not being perpaired for what has taken over 3 years and plenty of hardships to get us to this point. But am easy going and know some are perhaps protective of the wounderful people of the Philipines both men and women that are uprooting themselfs to be with there loved ones. Am sure some are not aware of the ongoing hardships that can and will follow once you are together. So I'll step back and just take whatever post suggest for whatever was ment from them.
As for my oraginal post meaning about the fees it came out to be 750 pesos was all Alma had to pay. Any other taxes must of been covered in the purchase of the ticket. She is home now and beat from the travel. Jet lag taking its toll. Thanks for all the suggestions and information. Oh and as of yet was too tired to stop for that Big Mac. he he maybe on one of our get to know the area tours we will take care of that request. lol.

Thanks again for all the quick replys. I did purches the tickets on-line and included was $74.60 for tax and fees. Never know what if any and all of the actual charges are included in those taxs. She has plenty to cover any not included and plenty for food, snacks or maybe even that humm do I need this novialty travel mug or snowglobe. As an interesting side note. What does your your misses or mister what first when they arrive at there new home? Besides the just you or hugg and kiss. WOW some are reading alot into a simple post. Just asked what was the correct fees for departing and some are quick to throw the don't be a cheap jerk card. Of course She will have more than enough for travel and any expenses. She said that 2000 pesos was ample and I knew better than that is why I added this post. Am well aware of the cost of living, support needs after she arrives as well. Not in need of any lectures on cost of living and suport. For those who helped with good solid information on terminal fees and taxes thankyou.
