CaribbeanHow long from NOA2 to interview in Kingston JA

Either way you have to register with DHL, but unless they recently changed it, you had the option of either picking it up at the DHL office in Montego Bay or Kingston. I noticed the people picking it up at the Kingston office seemed to get theirs within a few days of the interview and the people who registered to pick it up in Montego Bay got it within 2-3 weeks.

CaribbeanHow long from NOA2 to interview in Kingston JA
We got our NOAH October 11, 2013 and our interview was December 13, 2013. (If approved) The visa "typically" takes 2-3 weeks to be processed and delivered. I have seen the production process go MUCH faster for those who elected to pick up their visa from Kingston (some as fast as 2-3 days after interview).
... lol clearly meant NOA2. Auto correct made it Noah... smh :)

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)VISA ISSUED w/no cosponsor after 221g

A bit weird, current income is what counts.

It does appear that in most, if not all, other countries that seems to be the case. Unfortunately for me, the consulate in Jamaica only really looks at your most current tax transcript and neglects all other proof and supporting evidence. My current income for 2013 was way over the 125% guidelines but they didn't even look at my current income information. All they wanted to see was my tax transcripts.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)VISA ISSUED w/no cosponsor after 221g
Our interview was December 13, 2013. We were given a 221g for a cosponsor because despite the fact my current income is over 125%, my income for 2012 was significantly lower due to still being a college student. After many failed attempts to collect information needed from an eligible cosponsor I emailed the embassy early February with my 2013 tax transcript attached asking if they would accept my 2013 income as proof that I meet the income guidelines per the I-864p to satisfy the requirements of the I-134 without a cosponsor. My fiancé got a call a few weeks later to drop off his passport and shortly thereafter our visa has been issued!!

I searched exhaustively to find whether you could be granted approval by submitting a new tax transcript after being denied at the interview for an insufficient tax transcript from the previous year and could not find someone who came back afterwards and confirmed approval. Hope this helps someone in the future!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDS-160, DS-260 and DS-230

Hey all (Jamaica) VJers going for K-1 I really need some clarification on this one.

Are we supposed to fill out DS-260, DS-160, DS-230 and/or which, if any, combination of the three. I am getting conflicting responses and with all of the recent changes and updates on the guides, embassy websites and responses I have been reading that people have been getting from the embassy, I can?t seem to get a clear cut answer.

I was just going to fill out all three until I got to the ?pick your relationship to the petitioner? section on the DS-260 and ?fiancé? was not an option. Also, I have heard that the Kingston embassy won?t even respond to you until you submit the DS-260. Can I request packet 3 (instruction packet) be emailed to me BEFORE I submit any forms in order to obtain clarification from the source?

If anyone has recently dealt with this (preferably in Jamaica) your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNo openings for Medical

We scheduled in Kingston at Andrew Memorial Hospital. So, something else was just brought to my attention.

Does the doctor send the results straight to the embassy? Or is he supposed to go back to Kingston, again, 2 days before the interview to pick up the results?

Thank you for the replies. I guess if we are unsuccessful in Mobay we will see what Kingston can do.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNo openings for Medical

We just got our interview date of December 13, 2013 this past Friday (November 8) by calling DOS as we have not heard anything back from the embassy (no response to email, nothing in the mail). My fiancé called Mobay to schedule a medical and they said that they have NO appointments available until December 10, but they took his number and told him that they would give him a call if they had anything open up! Has anyone experienced a similar situation? Do you think it would help if I (the US Petitioner) called from overseas and tried to schedule the medical?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 Tax transcripts from prior year due to college
Thank you all for your kind words. Due to my age most of the people I know were in the same position as I in that they graduated last year or are working small jobs until they can find an applicable career for their degree. The problem for me was finding someone who is even elligible lol.

Now we are hoping the IRS & vital records provides the needed information on a timely basis.

Child support and listing your children as partial dependants probably won't be enough to put you over your guidelines so, if possible, I would start preparing a cosponsor as soon as possible. Each Embassy seems to view things very differently but the income guidelines in Jamaica are pretty strict.

We have our whole lives ahead of us together so the wait is just a small blip compared to the time we will be able to spend together. At the end of the day as long as I know we can be together after the wait I am happy. ??????

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 Tax transcripts from prior year due to college

Interview was today - I will post a more detailed review after I get to actually sit and speak with him tonight. <3

We were told all is well and we are approved, but we need a cosponsor (which we kind of expected). As soon as we submit the cosponsor information they will start processing to issue the visa.

Just for anyone in a similar situation:

I make well over the guidelines set forth per even the I-864p this year and had sufficient documentation to prove it. However, last year I was far below due to being a full time student who was taking a part-time unpaid internship AND maintaining employment. I did submit a letter of explanation along with a copy of my diploma and college transcripts as supporting evidence that my insufficient income for the year 2012 was due to being a college student. I started a job in my field in early 2013 as a result of obtaining a degree. - This did not matter. Current year income making and exceeding even the 125% income guidelines was not considered acceptable for the I-134 when LAST year's income was below guidelines.

We do have a cosponsor lined up but the information from the IRS and Vital Records has not come in yet.

I just wanted to share this information and our experience for anyone in a similar situation who may have had insufficient income for the prior year due to being in college or any other reason even if they meet guidelines for the current year.

Good luck and God bless to you all. :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA2!!
Congratulations on approval! I wish that was the case though. We received NOA1 dated August 30 and our Alien registration number was changed September 20. Since then, nothing. ??

We are being processed at TSC though and things seem to be chugging along MUCH faster at CSC. Either way everyone seems to have it easier now than the people who filed before May and have had to wait 5+ months.

Good luck on the rest if your journey! ?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA2! Next step & procedure...
I just received notification that our I-129F was approved (NOA1 dated 8/30/13). I am feeling so happy and so blessed that we are one step closer to finally being able to fall asleep to each other every night & wake up to each other every morning ???.

I apologize for being redundant as I understand this question has been asked countless times but I am a little unsure about the next steps in the process. I understand that our case will next be sent to the NVC, assigned a number, processed & be sent out to Kingston.

I have heard stories that some people have not received their next packet/instructions after this point from them being lost in the mail ??. Does the next packet get sent only to him (in JA) or will they send a copy to me as well? I have read that you can call to check the status and/or check online for further guidance but am unsure of who to call or where to check. Maybe I am jumping the gun and these questions will be answere upon receiving NOA2 hard copy but I would rather feel confident that I know exactly how to proceed from this point.

If anyone could shed some light on what is next to come I would really appreciate it! Thank you so much in advance and I wish you all the best of luck on your own journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsCEAC updated to ISSUED...when do I get the visa???

Eh, it is hard to say what day we actually got approved. I sent in my 2013 Tax Transcripts via email on February 3 and the embassy called Lance on Valentine's Day and asked him to drop his passport off on February 18. Then his status was updated to NON IMMIGRANT "Administrative Processing" on February 26.

I would say give it about a week and see if you have any changes on CEAC.

Like a hawk. I saw some people didn't get their waybill # for almost a week after their CEAC status changed to "Issued" which is why I haven't called yet. I also saw on CSC's website that they are closed Wednesday, March 5, 2014 for Ash Wednesday, which may delay the delivery a bit more.... I scheduled ours for pickup in Mobay.

Are you picking yours up in Kingston or Mobay?
