US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionP3 Recieved
:D Hi Everyone:

I just returned from China on 5/13/06 from visiting my fiance again. It has been 7 long months since I last saw him and we heard the wait after the VISA was received in China could be another 6 months. When I was there they told us that that our application would likely not be received before the middle of June. What a GREAT surprise it was today to find MY HONEY RECEIVED HIS P3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im so excited. Anyway, just wanted to post incase anyone waiting for GZ information is also discouraged by info received from the China Visa Center. Anyone with Guang Zhou experience know how long the wait is for an interview after submitting the Visa request?

Thanks ......... IM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAaaahh!! interview date!!!

Hi everyone! Being so impatient, I called the USE this morning to check if I already have an interview date. I know it's a bit too soon to ask cause August interview isn't out yet.. but hey, won't hurt a try right? So i got on the phone and spoke to a friendly operator and told her my case number and information. She then told me that, YES! An interview date has already been assigned to me and that would be august 9, 2006. My packet was mailed last may 23 and if I don't receive it soon before my interview I will just proceed directly to St. Lukes for medical and get my packet there. Aaaahhh! finally, I could almost smell the scent of my baby!!! :luv: :luv: :luv:

Congrats !!!!! You two make a cute couple .. best of luck

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 and Bank Savings

HI! :) I hope you dont mind me posting a question here.. I would just like to ask..

What if you have savings and checking account and your yearly income is very much above the poverty line BUT, my fiance only has 1 W2 which is the latest? He doesnt have 2003 and 2004 since he lived his 21 years here in my country and moved to the states just last year.. so he only worked for a year...

Thanks. i would appreciate your replies..

Hi: My Fiance recently got his P3 and I have a copy of his notice. It only requests that I send him a notarized copy of my last year taxes. I thought we had to send 3 years too but the notice clearly does not ask for this .. the text says to use form I-134 with that send the following information: 1. Notarized copies of his or her latest feteral tax return. 2. A statement from his or her employer showing salary and the length and permanancy of employment 3. A statement from an officer of the bank regarding is or her account, the date the account was opened and the present balance. 4. Any other evidence adequate to establish financial ability to carry out his or her undertaking toward the applicant for what might be an indefinite period of time. In no place in this document does it request 3 years of taxes. However :-), just to be safe, I have and sent my fiance 3 years of returns but only notarized the latest return (2005). I think you are fine .........

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAppproved or re-affirmed case was shipped to the Department of State

Hi: This should mean that the INS sent your case to the National Visa center for processing. If this is an online message you received, you should soon recieve an a I-797 NOA telling you where your case was shipped. I think they are all sent to the National Visa Center in New Hampshire but I am not sure. They will give you a phone number where you can call to learn your NVC status. However the automated line as I see it is never updated. You have to speak with a person to get your real status and this is not easy. Our case was at the NVC for about 20 - 25 days. At this point they are doing a security clearance and then they forward your finances VISA to Guang Zhou China (if your finance is from Mainland China). When the NVC completes their process they send you a letter with a consulate Case Number telling you that they have forwarded your finances VISA to China for processing. This is the step we are at now .. and also where it gets fuzzy.

For K-1's, the NVC (and yes, all K-1's go through the NVC) does not do any processing at all - no security clearance, nothing. It acts as a clearinghouse only, and should stay there for only a day or two before they forward it on to the appropriate consulate. You should (but not everyone always does) receive a letter from the NVC letting you know they have forwarded it on.

You can call the NVC at (603) 334-0700 to confirm that they did in fact receive it. You need to talk to a human being (it won't be in the automated system) and you will need the case number that is printed on your NOA1 and NOA2 (three letters depending on your service center, and a bunch of numbers).

My VISA was forwarded to NVC and when I called they told me directly that it was going through security clearance. It was there for 2.5 weeks before being sent to China.. I don't think the lady would have lied. The automated line can be reached at 603-334-0700

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswaiting for P3 from Guang Zhou
While we are waiting for P3, is there anything that we can be preparing so that we can complete P3 as quickly as possible and return it? What comes in P4?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswaiting for P3 from Guang Zhou
:help: Hi:

My latest notices is from National Visa Center they fowared his approved I-129 to Guang Zhou China the week of 3/21/06. The letter says "Your fiance will soon receive a packet with instruction from the consular section at this post on how to apply for the K1 visa at that post and what documents will be required" Does anyone know how long it takes before he will receive the P3 package? Will I receive any notification in the US that the consulate received his approved I-129? If not, how will I know when the GZ consulate recieves it?

Wow, I thought the waiting part was tough .. but this not knowing whats next or when is even worse. Anyone with GZ experience .. I would REALLY REALLY appreiciate any information you can tell me about your process. I am a little worried about the I-129 because it expires on 6/27/06 and I heard that it takes a LONG time between the time GZ receives the petition until the interview? Should I be sending in the request to extention now?

I wish I knew about this site a long time ago .. this is great!!! :D

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSCARED

I was reading a GZ post on another board and it said that 2 persons were turned down because the Chinese fiance could not do the interview in English.

Hello "I Love You Lin" :)

I had a Chinese gf before I met my current fiancee, and also read a lot of things concerning language difficulties at GZ. On COL, I read that if your fiance tells the CO you speak Mandarin, they will want a tape of you speaking fluent Mandarin! I'm not sure how true any of these stories are, and hopefully some others here can tell you their experiences. I think what matters most, is that you and your fiance have the ability to communicate with each other. After all, if you two couldn't communicate, how could you have a good relationship? Many will tell you that their fiance(e)'s were able to request a translator to get through the interview, so it isn't always a question of how well the beneficiary can speak English. Once again, I don't know how this applies to GZ.

Good luck, welcome to VJ, and hope you find all your answers. Until then, try not to worry too much!

Thank you :-)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSCARED
Hi:

My fiance reads and writes English well. We met on the internet and most of our communication is there. However when we met in person .. although he can speak English he does not understand spoken English. So when I returned to the US I began taking Manderin Language lessons. When we talk our language is confused ..some English with some Chinese words. I was reading a GZ post on another board and it said that 2 persons were turned down because the Chinese fiance could not do the interview in English. Does anyone know if this is true? Can they turn us down because our spoken language is not perfect. My finance plans to go to school full time when he arrives to learn English. I plan to continue with my Chinese school.

Please advise if you have any experience like this . .I am so scared now .. I can't even imagine the thought of a rejected VISA..

THANK YOU

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan USC attend the interview

Hi Everyone:

If I want to attend the interview with my SO in his country can I? Do I have to request permission to attend? Any information would be helpful.

Thanks

The answer for your interview is no.Guanghzou (China)will not allow you to attend the actual interview. You can go and be admitted to the consulate building with your SO, but you can only go as far as the 4th floor and have coffee at starbucks and wait for him. The 5th floor is the interview. You can sneak a quick kiss if you meet him at the washroom as that is a common area, but that would be it and the last time you see him until he is finished and walks down the stairs to see you on the 4th floor.

Thank you everyone for the reply!!!!! I think I will go anyway incase they request a video or additional information. I am afraid if they ask for something and I am not there we will be stuck waiting even longer........

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan USC attend the interview

The answer is "maybe". It depends on the policies of the interviewing consulate. You could contact this consulate and ask what the situation is.

It may also be worth asking at the appropriate VisaJourney regional forum, where you'll find others that have dealt with the same post.

Hi: Thanks .. I am not sure what you mean by VisaJourney regional forum ..where do I find that?
