Is she is a resident (legally) in UK? Keep in mind that the CR1 is processed in the home country whereas the K3 is processed in the country where you marry...


She is currently just a resident, but not a citicizen but she can get her citicizenship, but that could take a long time also. TY for the advise. :)

My fiancee of 2 years currently lives in the UK and does have her Residnet Permit with Settlement. But she is an Indonesian Citizen. I could go there at any time to get married, but not sure if we should.

Is it easier to get K3 or CR-1 Visa, or K1 Visa? We haven't started any paper work yet and we want to do it the right way first.

My Fiance is a UK resident, but not a full citizen. She cannot get a UK passport because of this at this time which would be costly, so we aren't sure which route to take.

She is an Indonesian citicizen, and we would like to work on a K1 visa, or even a K3 since I could go to the UK and Marry her, but we are unsure if she would have to go back to Indonesia for this process.

Please advise.

My Indonesian Fiance is living in the UK, and is currently a Resident. She cannot obtain a passort without a lot of hoops, time and money which we would like to use towards a Visa to the US.

My question is, does she have to go back to Indonesia where she is a citicizen, or can we go through the process while she remains in the UK.

I just sent in my I-129F form in on 6-23. My fiance is from Indonesia, but is currently living in the UK as a UK resident. I didn't think to mention that she will not be returning to Indonesia, and would like the inverview to take place in the UK. Should I wait until I get my for NOA, or send a letter right away not knowing if it will be connected with my I-129F form.

Call the number on the NOA1 when you receive it with the case number (1-800-375-5283). Tell them what you forgot to put in the package and are mailing it off. Do a cover letter with the fiance's letter (hopefully she sent you two originals or more) if not send it in and have her send you another one. Send it in with a copy of the NOA1.

I spelled her last name on the application and called the number (got through fairly quickly whole call less than 15 minutes). Took care of everything on the phone told me what to mail in and received an email few days later saying info received, package corrected, and no further action to correct was needed. So thinking I prevented RFE. And if it doesn't catch up to your package -- well then at least you tried.

Call the place you sent it to, and send them another mailing with a cover letter and explanation.


Could it be too late already since my check as been cashed? I haven't received anything in the mail yet. If I do get denied, will have have to pay the $455 to repetition?

My check for the 1-129 was in my bank today. However, I just realized that I missed getting my fiancée’s intent letter to marry me in the packet I sent. What will happen now?

Also, her phone number has changed since the packet was sent. Will I be able to modify this on my petion? OMG I'm nervous about this whole thing.

Look at the top of the form. What does it say next to "I-797C"? It says "Notice Of Action", or "NOA". The first "Notice Of Action" on a submitted I-129F, or what people here refer to as "NOA1", is usually a notice of receipt, which simply means they've received your package and have entered it into the queue.


yep that must be what it is then. I missed getting one piece of paperwork which was her intent to marry me letter, but I will call them on Monday and let them know I have it and can send it over night if needed.

Hi all.

My fiance currently is a resident in the UK. We are still waiting for the NOA2, but have read that she will need a police report. She has lived in the UK for over a year, but when she asked an Indonesian police station for a report, they said she would have to show up in person to get her photo taken.

Will she actually need a police report from Indonesia, and if so, does anyone know if she can get this without having to travel all the way back to Indo just to have her photo taken?

Like everyone, it seems the waiting gets to be long and tough. My NOA1 came early July, and a touch was on July 21st. Nothing since, but I don't think this is unusual.

I have a question on what an NOA2 is? Will I receive a packet for my fiance and I to fill out information? I'm sure there is a topic on this, but I can't seem to find it.

Please point me in the right direction so we know what to expect..

My Fiance checked on getting a police report from Indonesia, but was told she would have to travel there and get her photo taken before they would do this. She has lived in the UK for 6 years, but moved back to Indonesia for 13 months to help take care of her mother. She moved back to the UK 14 months ago.

My question is, what will the Embassy say about the lack of a police record from Indonesia since she isn't able to go back just to get her photo taken.

Our NOA-2 Expiration date is 02/15/2011.

Due to the holidays and some delays in getting in for a medical exam, we are afraid that an interview may be schelduled after the date of the NOA-2 expiration date. We did receive the NOA-3 from the UK Embassy, but it too was delayed in notifying us. We've heard that the UK may have a 30-60 day delay before the interview which is past the expiration date.

Is the NOA-2 Expiration date just to make sure we get all the paperwork in by that date, or is the date that all things will end one way or another.

Currently my Fiance lives in the UK. Over the past 6 years she moved to Indonesia for 13 months, then back to the UK for the past 16 months. We have contacted the poilce stations in Indonesia for a police report, and they say she cannot have it done without going back in person and getting her photo taken at the station.

Here is what is on the US Embassy website about the subject of police report in Indonesia:
Unavailable for applicants inside and outside Indonesia. Indonesian police certificates require initial processing at a local or village level, which is nonstandard in nature, can be subject to capricious decisions by officials and may require nonofficial payments to proceed further. (in other words a bribe)

We are getting close to our deadline, and do not have a way to get her back to Indonesia just for this one thing.

Is there anything we can do?

My fiancee missed her Medical appointment as she is ill. She is attempting to get a new appointment, but is still very ill. We have already sent in a letter to the UK embassy asking for a 5 month extention. The 5 months is over June 15th. The delay has been personal and she also had to fly back to her home country to get a police report. We have all of the documents ready and sent in the Document Rediness form.


My question is, what do we do? Does a petition actually expire or can we just continue on and pray for an interview soon.
