Philippines	Travel to Bohol and surrounding areas?	Thanks for the replies. If I went, it would be to visit my fiancée and her family, who would be down in that area visiting her grandma. So that's why I am asking if it might be a hinderance to the efforts to recover at that time. She says it should be fine, but since she isn't there it's hard to really know. my f and i were supposed to be there last month to help out a bit on their tourism problem but the typhoon had happen and we heard that they still have problems with the power outage so we cancelled it.. but i think now, the power is back!stay in panglao island for there are not that affected by the earthquake and typhoon..or you could always stay in cebu..	bryneff	Not Telling	Philippines	2013-12-04 05:01:00

Philippines	How long to get through NAIA security	Transaction went fine.  She called three days before because she wanted to make sure then she called again the day before and they told her to call the morning before the flight just to re-verify. She was instructed to bring a photo copy of the visa and her passport bio page the first time she called. She said they were very nice to her on the phone each time.   Note: bring your own pens, it helps when you have to fill out the disembarkation card before you pay the terminal tax as they have none on the counter provided to fill the card out.     When we were at the counter at Terminal 2 they were very helpful there and we had no hassles.  She had to fill out a double sided form and they did whatever they needed to do with her passport, CFO certificate, copies of bio page/visa and CFO registration form I think, while she filled the form out. There wasn't any wait at the desk when we got there but three others beat us to return their forms, so it took less than 15 minutes.     The CFO is counter #5 if I recall correctly and to pay the travel tax is counters #1-3, you start at #1 then pay at counter #3.  We started with CFO then paid the travel tax and that took about another five minutes with the number of people in line but they moved them pretty quick.    I have to add that we had four bags to check in so when we unloaded from the van I failed to ask how much the uniformed airport bag porters charged, 100 pesos or $2 US per bag that you pay at a booth before getting to enter the terminal.  I would have just carried them all myself if I had known.     Our POE was San Francisco and I didn't see any signs on where we needed to go so we went the the new immigrants line, knowing it wasn't the right one and it only had four people from our flight, the security guard was very cool and said it wasn't the right line but to go ahead and stay there so we blazed through immigration in under five minutes.     And yes PAL still stands for Plane Always Late.     Hope this helps. Philippines	NAIA 2 to POE LAX experience	My flight was from cebu to manila and then manila to L.A.i was so lucky that the agent from PAL arrange everything (btw, i have the same airlines for both flight so its a good idea if you will have your trip soon).we had it booked separately and save a lot of money rather booked it all at once.he gave me my boarding pass for both flights, had my check in bag transferred to L.A. directly and process my payment for travel tax in cebu (the agent gave me also the departure card and instruct me to fill it up and give it to the immigration officer).so the only thing that i have to do when i get to NAIA 2 is to pay the terminal fee and go directly to immigration (take note no questions ask,got my exit stamp).have to endure the 13hrs flight after.lol!i have to fill up two forms during the flight, the I-94 and the CBP form..got there around 9am in LAX, just follow the crowd and read the signs where to go.they had a lot of counters in the immigration area, just get in line for the visitors for those like me in K1 visa.there were a crowd already in line but i got lucky when they open a new line.got to the immigration officer, gave him my passport, the two forms and my yellow packet.he tore the packet and check everything there.instruct me on my fingerprinting and pic taken afterwards.he did tell me that i dont need to fill up the I-94 and he tore it up.he stamp my passport and told me to get married before the date he put on the visa.he then gave me back my passport and the cbp form and instruct me to go to customs for final checking.but you need to get your baggage first so just follow the signs plus the airline will tell you the carousel number for your baggage.for any other reasons, you have to go through customs,dont follow the other people who line up somewhere.you will know them by seeing their x-ray machine at the right side when you find the exit.gave them your passport and the cbp form.they will stamp the form then proceed to gave that form to the officer at the exit gate.FINALLY with my hubby!!!SOOO HAPPY!!	bryneff	Not Telling	Philippines	2013-12-10 01:54:00

Philippines	Customs Declaration Form for K-1 Fiance	Sorry, but you are wrong.  Personal effects need not be declared.     Declare: Cash in excess of $10k UDS.  Commercial items (things purchased and brought over with the intent to re-sell). Expensive gifts.   The part about items purchased abroad refers to people who leave the US, buy a LOT of stuff overseas, then bring it back.  Do enough of that, and you will pay an import tax.  But it's not about an incoming person's clothing, electronics, etc.  You can just leave it blank or put N/A on that part.  She's not a visitor, as she will not be leaving.  She is intending to be a resident.   If you want to be REAL honest, put a fair amount down for gifts purchased.  I'm fairly certain it will be so low in value coming from the PI that it won't trigger a taxable event. Philippines	Customs Declaration Form for K-1 Fiance	My fiance is in the midst of packing two bags for her travel here on a K-1 visa next week, and I have been looking over the customs declaration form that she will have to fill out on the plane when coming here. All the questions are pretty self explanatory with the exception of the last one, which reads: "15. Residents - the total value of all goods, including commerical merchandise I/we have purchased or acquired abroad, (including gifts for someone else, but not items mailed to the U.S.) and am/are bringing to the U.S. is: $__________ "Visitors - the total value of all articles that will remain in the U.S., including commerical merchandise is: $__________" My question is twofold: 1. Which does she fill in, the one for "residents" or the one for "visitors"? 2. In filling in the dollar amount, does she include the value of all clothing, personal items, computer, etc, since they were technically purchased abroad and will remain in the U.S.? Philippines	Anyone here from Carcar, Cebu?	This does relate to a K-1 Visa but we need a document before applying.   We need a copy of a property/house deed that's located near Carcar, Cebu, Philippines, so a person would have to know or find out  wherever property title/deeds for the Carcar area are obtained.  My understanding is that copies of deeds are public that for a fee the recording office will give anyone a copy.    I've given up trying to obtain it by phone or mail.    I'd be happy to pay someone who speaks good Cebuano and who is willing to go to Carcar well.  1,000 peso up front as long as you can prove who you are and are sincere and 3,000 after the deed is scanned and emailed to me, or mailed.   I can easily prove who I am and that I'm sincere.   I imagine even if you're coming from Lapu Lapu, or Cebu City, a person can do this easily in one day.    If anyone's willing to help please send me a message.  It would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.     Hey!im from naga, cebu..are you trying to get a copy of your property?or just need an example?	bryneff	Not Telling	Philippines	2014-01-12 14:16:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	CSC and NVC , what is going on?	It seems that the transfer of I129F-NOA2 files from CSC to NVC is getting so slow or even no movement at all. This is so frustrating! What is happening or causing of the delays? If you can see the trend, the line graph for NOA2 to NVC had gone up, way up compared with May-July 2013. To know from other VJers who have August NOA2 receipts that they haven't gotten their case numbers is so disheartening.   How much longer do we all need to wait? Oh, I only can pray for more patience and perseverance.      you should consider yourself lucky just taking a month for you getting your NOA2 while most of us have to endure more than 3 months to get our NOA2. we really dont know why its taken them so long but we really dont have any choice.you just have to think that you are much luckier than us just to wait for an additional 6 to 8 weeks .im sure you can do it, as what we are now. we all just want to be with our love ones soon.. keep your spirit up!it will come...	bryneff	Not Telling	Philippines	2013-10-16 10:58:00

Plus I find it really odd that every time I call, I get someone that sounds drunk, high or has an accent I cant understand. That's why I call DOS instead. They are easier to contact and they are more polite. I gave up trying to contact USCIS Tier 2. I have hired a lowyer to work with ussince the begining of the process  but she is telling me that we have to wait from New Delhi to send us the case number. It has been over a month and we haven't received any thing from the New Delhi. I need advice of how to obtain my fiance's case nubmer? please help. A co worker that did a K1 visa for his bride told me that he had to buy a round trip plane ticket for his fiance rather than a one way ticket. He said it was required so in the outside chance that they didnt get married, that she had airfair back home. Is this true? My girl is almost at the embassy interview point and I want to know what am I likely to need. She is in the Philippines and just took her medical. Thank you!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	What is CFO?	I have read some posts about CFO. What is it about? Is it required for a K1 Visa? Do i need it before the Medical exam? CFO means Commission on Filipino Overseas, it will guide you through the process of migrating to other countries..it includes letting you get inform before your travel and during the departure, the pros and cons settling to a foreign countries and immigration concerns..it is not required for K1 visa but it is required when you leave the country..you can do your CFO seminar before or after your medical or even after the interview.. My fiance sent I-134 and supporting docs to me on the 8th Nov and today being the 21st, still haven't arrived yet. I'm ready on my end to open the package, grab out the needed forms and send packet 3  express to embassy the same day. The embassy here only do interviews on Tuesday, so I'm hoping on 10th Dec also, so I can get my visa in time to be with my faince before christmas, but haven't book flights yet due to waiting for final approval and prices are rising for Christmas.. By the time I get to USA (approval based) this journey will be near $9,000 AUD, and yet the most precious thing to me, seems still so far away. I'm waiting by the mailbox for documents from my fiance. I was hoping they would arrive today, but hopefully tomorrow. My hopes of getting to USA before christmas is looking slim. My eldest son graduates primary school on 15th Dec and then we are free to leave. Sydney embassy are quite fast for packet 4 and interview dates, but then waiting for visa and packing up the house and selling car etc isn't going to be easy.
