We sent our I-129F (with all the rest of the documents) following the "Assembling the I-129F Package: Checklist" on this webpage on April 13th, 2012. And I say we, because we are both in the US right now. I'm leaving on Monday to Argentina, which is were I'm from. We got the NOA1 4/19/2012 at 1:45am (yes, the text luckily didn't wake us up! lol) and the email at the same time. Since there was no topic on April filers, I decided to open one to see if we can all help each other while waiting and waiting and waiting and some more waiting! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Starting to loose my control now!	Guys, can I ask you a question? We are going crazy on this waiting game; and looking at VSC performance lately, and since my job's contract ends next month (yeah, in my childlish head I had it all prepared and thought that if I filed in April I could leave my country by October with the visa in hand) we are thinking of taking a little vacation together away from all this distressing process that apparently will take many more months. Can we leave my mom (I'm the NON USC) the package ready to have her drop it at the embassy in case the NOA2 comes while we are on holidays? Can you leave your country for a short period of time after having the police record done? I'm not asking this in a General Forum, because I don't want to get the typical answers from CSC filers saying: "be patient" "wait is a virtue" when they are getting their NOA2 in 60 days or so... they don't understand the feeling of waiting, cause they haven't been through that! I' ve been in the US for almost a week now and we are getting married tomorrow (End of the world day! Lol) so we can send my AOS asap, since we have our religious ceremony and big party planned for April 27th, 2013 back in Argentina. So far so good for me, hope your soon to be husbands/wives are experiencing the same! I was even asked a couple questions. Still, it didn't get anywhere near as personal as I thought it would. I guess you really never know until it's time. Congrats! It's finally over! At least this part of the journey FINALLY!!!! Mar flew to Manila this morning (philippines time) from Tacloban, stopped by CFO to get her sticker, and boarded the first leg of her 3 flight journey to America. As one of many victims of VSC I have to say it has not been easy but it will all be worth it as soon as I see her at Dulles airport tomorrow Congrats! It's November 29th at 9:00 am. They actually offered me a spot on the 27th but on that day I'm flying back to Argentina from the vacation we've been taking with Jarrod, so we asked if they could move it and they did. We can't complain at all at this stage. As neurotic as I am I had the packet 3 ready to be delivered the moment they asked for it, but the embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina is so efficient and works so fast! I'll make it for the holidays! :-) Great happy moments for all the April filers that are moving along, and my best wishes and all the luck to all of those still waiting for the approval. Good luck on the remainder of the process for you. 190 days before our NOA2 over here, called uscis every day for a week and contacted our congressman. I would keep calling and asking for a tier 2. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	I-129F April 2012 filers	Well, I don't think this will actually make you feel better, but we were pretty much the last people approved from our day April 18th. It took them 190 days... we thought that we were doomed for an RFE since all the people around us ( I kept an excel spread sheet with all those numbers) were getting one at the time... but no, approved with no other issue. We thought our case was simple, both never been married, in our 30's, both professional with post grad degrees, Jarrod owns his company, no kids... no red flags whatsoever and still... the last ones after 190 days. So honestly, there no logic in the way approvals are delivered for me. I guess what I'm trying to say is... just wait, it will happen. Sounds like the last thing you want to hear when the frustration is building up (trust me, I've been there), but it took me a long time and a lot of tears to figure out that it's not in our hands. We got it! 10:30 eastern time in the US, 8:30 in Panama where we are right now... while waking up...... yayyyyyy! Jumping and hugging in bed! Finally! Now waiting a week to call NVC and get our number since we left the packet 3 ready with my mom down in Buenos Aires so she can deliver it to the embassy as soon as we get that case number. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	I-129F April 2012 filers	In Argentina the embassy is the one that sends you the packet 3, but as soon as you get your nvc number you can contact them by mail letting then know that the packet is coming, so they know you are ready and not willing to lose even a day to get the interview. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	I-129F April 2012 filers	So we've had our Congressman involved for the last couple of weeks, and after their third inquiry to USCIS, we finally got a proper response which is that our case is currently in the hands of an officer. The lady from the Congressman office told Jarrod about how someone over there said that they've just been a bit behind and that our case was in the hands of an officer, to which Jarrod responded "but Obama said there were NOOOO backlogs when it comes to legal immigration cases!!" and of course she started laughing. On a different note, we've been calling USCIS every day for the past 5 days, and asking for a tier 2. The first 4 were to say the least, not informed, uneducated and disrespectful (one even hung up on us) but yesterday we were transferred to an officer of a higher rank who very well and respectfully informed us that he couldn't disclose any information on the case but that we had to understand that a big part of the process involves a delay at the FBI for the background checks. All cases are different, and some take longer than others, like ours (Jarrod owns his own company and has been living and going back and forth from Argentina and Uruguay to the US for the past 3 years...) So I thought I might share this info with you, it brought some relief to be given some sort of logical explanation where the delay was. Maybe it can help somebody else, and don't hesitate contacting your Congressman and USCIS because it might work. Just be consistent. Oh my god, I'm so looking forward to Monday!!! Is it just me, or is the last stretch of waiting even harder than the 6 months prior??? I can't breathe every time I look at the website, and whenever I see "Initial Review" staring back at me, disappointment weighs like a rock. But ten minutes later, eternal optimism forces me to check again. Because if approval comes this week, there might still be a chance to have him here for the holidays....if all the stars align. Heck, us VCS April filers are due for a break! A few more hours and it'll be Monday morning again!! I'm no expert but I believe denials can be for blatant things such as former marriage not being desolved or filing before the legal termination. Also for things such as not meeting in person in the past 2 years etc. I think it is typically for things that totally do not follow the guidelines and not simply for something that requires a RFE. As for the waiting for 6 months to find that out, well no one has looked at the files in 6 months LOL so hopefully we all prepared our forms and documentation properly. Seems today was a slow day at VSC based on the non-posting of approvals.......waiting, waiting, waiting Thanks, you are right... I forgot all about people being married before filing for K1... I think I should get a glass of wine and relax a little bit. Oh, and yes! So far just 2 approvals on Igor's list today... never hated weekends like I do now! Only to discover that on 10/10, they approved the number in front of me, and the number after me....but skipped over mine. Ugh! I noticed that there seems to be a lot of RFEs issued....about 1/3d with RFE's, 1/3d approved and 1/3d still waiting. I only saw one denial, but 2 withdrawals. Ever since I saw those 2 numbers before and after me approved, I check that darn website every ten minutes! It's becoming an obsession!!! Anyway, my theory is that most people with RFE's and denials may not have discovered Visajourney before they filed their application - at least that lets me sleep at night. It can't be too much longer now ;-) Patience is a very hard thing when you are so anxiously awaiting news. Especially because VCS seemed to have started the weekend early today. Sigh So good to know I'm not the only one going insane ... but honestly, what is a denial? It's not that you didn't file properly, cause there are many of those too... but on what grounds can they deny your application after six month of waiting? Does anybody know? To try to ease my mind I made an Excel spreadsheet with I129F filers from my same date and close to my number and check them everyday. It was working fine for my neurosis until today... 2 numbers close to mine got a RFE (yes, after we've been waiting for freaking six months) and one got a DENIAL today!
