Middle East and North AfricaImmigrant visa approval process after interview in Qatar

Hi,

Sorry for my late response. Anyway, after my interview and I passed, they took my passport and the CO told me to collect it after 2 days at the gate. But just to let you know on the time of my interview, there was an another guy who also passed the same time with me but he doesn't have his NBI clearance from Phils. He told the CO that he'll submit it after 2 days. After he submitted he got his passport back with visa after a week.

Regards.

Wow, really?!?!? I am just curious, when the CO asked you to collect it after 2 days at the gate, did you just show up at the gate and asked for your passport? Or did you have to show some kind of document/receipt/slip?

Middle East and North AfricaImmigrant visa approval process after interview in Qatar

Hi,

Sorry, I was talking about my interview date prior to the passport took 1.5 months. Passport stamp could be different under AP. I was just telling you my previous experienced in Qatar. Just pray that everything will be fine.

Regards.

Oh ok. So, how long did it take for them to call you after the interview? I am certain that the reason for the delay is his police clearance not being ready at the time of interview. So, your case may be different. But I just want to get a ballpark idea of when he may be notified. The daily suspense is killing me.

Hi hrojo8,

I agree with Leatherneck's comment here. My visa also was process there in Doha,Qatar. It took them 1.5 months to approved my papers after they received my documents from NVC. No one really knows how things go around inside the AP. During those times, I have also lost patience and I keep calling them but don't worry everything will be fine

1.5 months?!?! nooo..... Our 1 year wedding anniversary is in less than 3wks, I was praying we would be together by then...  :crying:

Though he was not informed about AP, the document(s) submitted after the interview will take time to be matched up with the case file and reviewed by a CO -- that is AP.  Keeping the passport was a good sign, the approval is pending based on review of the requested document.

As to how long that will take, no one can tell you that for certain.

Ohh, ok, I see.. thank you!

Hi,

I believed your husband is put under AP (Administrative Process) if I'm not mistaken. No one really knows what is happening during this period but it will probably run from days, weeks or even months. The reason the date keeps changing when you check the status is that someone has "touched" your husband's papers. This means that it's moving and it's a sign of progress. Just pray that they will release it soon.

Regards.

Thanks for your prompt reply. You might be right on that and I get the same generated reply on my email stating it is indeed on administrative processing. But the thing is, 1-he was not told after his interview that he would be under administrative processing-according to Qatar consulate website, they are supposed to tell you after the interview. 2-why would they take his passport right away?  3-he was not given a 221-g form to fill out for administrative processing. and 4-Why wouldn't it state "Administrative processing" on the CEAC status? OR, could it be that they just use administrative processing as the term for the actual processing? Sorry, it just gets confusing and frustrating..

Middle East and North AfricaImmigrant visa approval process after interview in Qatar

Hello everyone, my husband and I is confused about the immigrant visa process after the interview. Consulate Officer took my husband's passport after the interview and told him he will get a call from her colleagues. He had his interview on June 1 in Doha, Qatar and ever since then, ceac status is stuck on "Ready" (but date is updated each time I send an email to request status). He was missing his police clearance because it had expired but had submitted it 2 days after his interview. I have read a couple of reviews from other people who had interviews in Qatar who received their visa the following day of interview or within a week. It has been 2wks for us now, excluding their weekends(Fri & Sat). Does anyone know what is the normal waiting process after the interview is conducted in general or in Qatar? We are at the home stretch but how much longer do we wait from here?

I just graduated in Bachelor of Science of Nursing in the Philippines then got married after my graduation. I am petitioning my husband to be with me but I do not have a job yet since I just arrived a week ago. What would be the required salary to be a qualifying sponsor for the petition since I too am not employed yet?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurespolice clearance

If the beneficiary (spousal visa) is going to interview at the U.S. Embassy Manila, they will need an NBI clearance, not a local filipino police clearance.

If the beneficiary lived overseas for a year or more after the age of 16, they will be required to submit a police clearance from that foreign country (with a few exceptions, such as KSA).

For K-1ers, a foreign police clearance must be submitted if they lived in a foreign country for six months or more after the age of 16. Some exceptions apply.

thank you! =)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresregarding sponsorship

Yes the USC is the petitioner and the sponsor of the beneficiary.  The USC is held responsible for the conditions of the I-864 until the beneficiary works for 40 work quarters (approximately 10 years), becomes a USC, dies, or leaves the USA.  If you do not work, you need to find a joint sponsor.  Someone who is also willing to take the legal commitment as outlined by the I-864.  It sounds like you both need to read the contract within.  Being a sponsor will not affect anyone's credit score.  It is only to make sure the beneficiary does not use means-tested benefits (that is rely on the federal or state governments for financial help) and if they are used, the government can require the sponsor(s) to pay back the money or sue them for it if necessary.

got it... thanks!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresregarding sponsorship

I am the petitioner for my husband and am currently unemployed because I just arrived from the Philippines in fulfilling my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In behalf of our sponsor for the petition, he is concerned of two things. 1- Is it true that he is held responsible for my husband for 10 years? If so, can the full sponsorship be transferred to me after I seek employment? 2 - Can being a sponsor affect his plans in buying a new home and car?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresfiling from Qatar

I am a US citizen. My husband and I just wed early this month in the Philippines. I just arrived in California while he resides in Qatar through an employer's visa. 1-Can we process his Immigration status to come to the U.S. from Qatar? 2-If so, is it the same process? or If not, how would we go about it? 3-Is it a faster process to file from Qatar vs. Philippines?
