It would be excellent news if they just sent the petitions straight to the consulates..but are we sure this will be faster? Think about it, what if they use diplomatic mail which they collect in batches and send together? Then again another few days here or there, what's the difference after 2 months of waiting?
What I really hope happens soon is that the approvals start pouring in this week, it certaintly has been long enough!

Isn't it the fact that our country has not treated us with respect through all this? I, for one, do not feel entitled to have our K1 in hand right now this minute (can we get beyond the simplistic stereotyping of Americans?). What I do feel is disappointment that the government did not notify any of us about this problem. Didn't we all have to do our own research to figure out why the heck our fiancé(e)s were receiving calls/letters/whatever from consulates canceling interviews? Aren't some of us still searching for our cases? Why? If I had received a call/letter/email from anyone saying "We are very sorry for this mishap. Unfortunately your.... We are working...." I would feel a lot better and maybe not be so neurotic.

What I do understand is I deserve respect. And that would be nice to have NOW.

I totally agree with you! It's really not too much to ask for some information, a warning or at least an explanation. We all new what happened before USCIS even admitted to the fact that petitions were recalled. It's understandable that immigration does not happen overnight especially lately with the government trying to put more an more restrictions on it!! For the love of god though, they could at least keep us informed which is the least that could have been done to show that we are indeed citizens of this country and have rights.

So yes, respect would be expected from one human to another!

IMBRA Special TopicsRECALLED PETITION - UPDATE

Hey, I thought you guys would like to know...
After getting my RFE being sent on July 6th, I got touched today, saturday morning.

I think this is good news and they should be working on more recalled petitions!
As for my case, I hope they are clearing everything they need to, so when they receive my RFE they will just reapprove my application.

That thread about not sending it through NVC kind of cheered me up a little bit.
If that´s the case, not only it would (hopefully) save some time but it could mean they intend to process the recalled cases faster once receiving the RFE.

What do you mean they are not sending it through NVC?

Expatrica - I am entirely empathetic. My fiance is also from the UK, and we our case has not been touched by USCIS since May 1st. And my Congresswoman and Senators are being extraordinarily unhelpful and particuarly bold given that i am a law-abiding, voting constituent.

We were told that our petition was mailed to Vermont from NVC on June 27th and still nothing. No one is helping, i am left with that sinking feeling of lost deposits and missing my fiance.

Is there anything else I could be doing? I'm phoning Vermont (1-800-375-5283) but I am routed to some one in the main USCIS office who reiterates the painful obvious fact that my "case has been approved on April 19th..."

Help

I also just called Vermont, but no help. All she tells me is that their system does not reflect that my petition has been received back. Even though a man at Vermont told me that it was but if he lied NVC told me they sent it back to VSC on June 2. I am so sad about this whole situation. Considering that I was one of the first to be recalled and our interview was sceduled on May 15, I am furious that my case has not even made it "back" into the system yet!! For all she knows ( the VSC customer service) is that they do not have it back. So she tells me to wait :ranting:

ok, since we are venting in this one......GRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I would really like to know one thing;
if Vermont told me they received it back on June 1st, where the hell is it now? Also funny thing is that NVC emailed me back the next day after I spoke to Vermont and told me that they sent back the petition to VSC on June 2. Does that make any sense?
I figured they just sent it and recorded it in their system later or something like that. ANY ideas? Well also why would Vermont say they have it if they dont? Anyway you put it, if it was sent after June 2 to VSC, its still WAY TOO LONG for not even an update on being received or reopened!! I'm stressed and very paranoid about this whole online update, or lack of it in my case. :help:

yup, way too long. have you tried a congressman? they can get on the phone to get answers - helped me find out my case really was back in vermont. you can also try the state dept, 202-663-1225, press 1, then 0 for visa specialist. they actually informed me my case was recalled due to imbra and when it was sent back from paris. AND she was very friendly and compassionate.

I did that back in June, it's absolutely disgusting how they are handling me. I finally got a copy of a letter from them last week that they sent to the embassy in ISRAEL!!!! (asking them whats the status with my petition)What the hell for ??? I don't know. It took them a month to do that, and what they are doing makes absolutely no sense!! I told them the petition was recalled why write to Israel? Why cant they just pick up the phone and call USCIS? I swear I found out more information on my own and through VJ than through them. Plus everytime I tried to call and follow up, the woman in charge at the district office who handles all immigration questions would never talk to me and just avoid me, they would always say the same thing, we will send you something in the mail...and they did, THE MORONS! too bad its nothing helpful to me! They make me so sick, really I dont even want to call them again, the treatment is awful. No one cares :crying:

And I'm really happy for you RLT!!!! you were starting to worry me, really, so thrilled for you

It's always darkest before the dawn.

I agree with this saying. You know Cigarovich its been soooo dark lately, and not just this process alone. I am sure for many of you like me so many other sides of your life are being affected by this torturesome process. It feels like you can't plan anything. Simple things like remodeling my kitchen are hanging in the air while I wait for this to go through. I want to be able to do these things together with my fiance. I want to just have the pleasure of sitting in the same room with him for once. I want to be able to come home and have him hug me when I've been having the most gruesome day at work. I need him here with me and this uncertainty of not knowing when and how this will happen is torturing me.
Every decision I have to make is affected by this: I can't move, I can't take a vacation I can't just stop working even though I am so sick of going to work everyday and coming back to an empty home which should have had my husband there already a month ago. I can't look at our pictures anymore and not cry at times because I've been so patient through this whole process and just when it seemed to come to the end I was catapulted all the way back to the beginning of this mess. Honestly I'm losing strength. Somedays are better than others...today is not one of them. Sorry for the long post, just feel so useless now. thanx for reading

I am happy to here that some of us are seeing some action, but oh my, I am so so so depressed to not see anything yet. My NOA1 was on March 8th, my case was sent back from Israel on May 11th...but apparently dates mean nothing anymore and they are working at whatever pace they want. I gather my petition will be the last they touch. Only thing is my NOA1 is good till July 22nd, do they update it or how does that work? This whole ordeal is making me very nervous.

I think "everyone" might be a little premature... some of us have still never been touched at all :(

I know... But until one or 2 weeks ago nobody had been touched. And my being sent an RFE is a good sign for everyone with NOA2s being processed in Vermon.

It is a good sign, but its not so good that they are not doing it in any kind of order,it looks to me like they cracked open the cases from Brazil and the Philippines so far. Perhaps, the largest box/envelope of returned petitions??? If thats the case....where is Canada then, has anyone with a NO2 from Canada been touched?
I dunno just guessing, but all in all it is a sign of life for us the "royally screwed" petitioners with recalled NOA2's

Here are my two cents on this issue because I am in the exact situation you all are.
I've had my mental breakdown and have come out of a very long haze with some clear thoughts for everyone.

1. If your applications were previously approved, then you have nothing to worry about.
2. Good things are coming to us for all of the hell we have been put through.
3. When all our applications are re-approved and sent out again things will be back on track.
4. When we are finally married and all of this is in the past, we will never have to deal with this again.

Of course let me also add that no matter how many times we call, it will not speed things up. I have resigned myself to going to the gym until I am a lifeless human body without a single ounce of energy to worry about anything.

Hope that helps. So lets all just get our frustration out now and relax. If we think this process is hard for us the petitioner remember how hard it is on the other end so far away.

I hope everyone hears lots of great news in the coming weeks. I am waiting to see who gets the first RFE out of Vermont that has already had their NOA2 previously approved.

I love your positive outlook on life
I keep going to the gym too. I think physical exhaustion allows us to forget about the mental one...for at least the length of the workout.
btw I was born originally in Chishianu Moldova :D , nice to see someone from my birthplace. its rare to find people from around there

Well I finally got thru to Vermont, and spoke to someone that actually sounded like she knows what she is talking about. I have already received the 2 emails saying our case was reopened, and she told me that I will be receiving a RFE within the next several days. It sounded like it will be send out this week to me.

Mike thats great news! Clarify for me just one thing please, did you receive the emails after you had already spoken to her or before? Do you think she had something to do with opening your case?

Hello All,

I guess I just need to vent. My NOA1 date was March 8th and our petition was sent back to the US from London almost 6 weeks ago. I spoke with someone in Vermont who confirmed that it was there nearly two weeks ago and yet I've had absolutely no updates online.

This is so depressing. I am just so frustrated and stressed out by the whole process. Add to that the fact that we are having our "wedding"* in three and half weeks and the stress is high. That said, the fact that my finance has to return to the UK after the "wedding" is definitely putting a damper on my excitement. *sigh* Sorry to ramble and whine but it's just not fair - WAH! *pouts*

I've asked this before but never got any answers other than check the guides (which I have done a thousand times).

How do my parents (who are co-sponsoring my fiancee's visa ap) prove their ownership of their two homes? What EXACTLY needs to be provided?

What about stocks and bonds?

Thanks

I am using the title of the deed (COPY), which is in my name. Hence theirs should be in their names. This is the best prove you can give in my opinion. :D

For those of you who have perhaps read the other posts already know my situation with the cancelled interview and a dead end response every time I contact anyone. Apparently they ignored the first one...or will this piss them off and make it worse for me?
