Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)AP RATIO FOR FEMALES IN PAKISTAN

I believe females are less likely to go through AP in Pakistan or for that matter anywhere across the globe

Hi,

My wife was interviewed on Feb 17. Her case is in AP. There was another VJ member whose wife was interviewed on Jan 03 and she got Visa in late March 2011.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPitition to State department to stream line IR visa's

Many get frustrated as they go through it. Once it is over many tend to forgive and forget. I feel the system is doing what it is intended to do and works relatatively well. Certain things slow cases down and, right or wrong, those items have to be corrected. A better tracking system is a great idea but would further add to the costs associated with the visa process and more taxes needed from the citizens to pay those employees. The system may need some tweaking here and there but I think it works well.

Thanks for your comments.

Hi all,

I see so many US citizens getting frustrated with the Visa process. Can we start a pitition drive to send our concern and proposals to stream line the Visa process? A better response system from all the government department to give us correct and timely information.

Has any one did such drive before using the internet?

We should request the one who have gone through this frustrating process to help.

Bushra AP stands for Administrative Process. FBI checks, Travel History checks etc. All these checks made by the State Department and USCIS and are in some cases mandatory before they issue a visa. That 6 months period you spent after the interview was because of AP.

myunus1 - I'm a female and I had my interview back in October 2008. I was placed on AP and they had returned my passport with me. I received my visa in late December 2008. At the time of the interview, the Consular Officer told me it wouldn't take longer than 2 months given my case but cases vary. It depends on several factors. I'd suggest if you don't hear any news in the next 2 months or so, you as the US citizen can call the state department and inquire about your case. You can also call USCIS for more information. This is normal so don't panic.

Thanks for your kind words. It is nice to know that some one got Visa after AP process. Embassy has not returned the passport. They told her that if she shows the original birth certificate in a couple of days, Visa will be issued.
She tried to show them in two days they told her to send it by courier. She sent by courier. They acknowledge to me by email that they got the document. Document is OK. However her case is pending AP. I do not know why they change their mind. I checked with DOS (department of State). They told me same story that her case is in AP. It usually takes two months. I hope we see the Visa and call from consulate soon.

AP stand for what?. I forgot but sounds like very familiar to me. Well I got my visa after 6 month of my interview for I-130.

But one of my friend got here in June 2010, she just showed her copy of her BC because she doesn't have original. Shes got the visa right after 2 day of her interview.
Its kinda painful but do not worry she will get it soon. Good luck. Inshallah Allah will help you guys.

Thanks for kind words. I hope her Visa approval call come soon.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAP time for the wives CR1 visa
Hi all,

My wife was denied due to the absence of the original birth certificate on Feb 17. We submitted original certificate on Feb 23. Embassy acknowledged that they got the certificate and it is according to their expectation. However case is pending due to Ap.

I looked at most of the cases who were not approved on the first interview. I found only one female (Sunny & moon) who are going through such AP for females.

I am wondering if any female case was decided by the embassy in the last one year after AP. If so, how much time it took. It will be nice to know reason for the AP than we can warn other members so that they can take proper actions.

Dedinately.. I understand what you're dealing with...

Have you spoken to A HUMAN at NVC..? The agent can tell you IF the packet is in the "Mail-Room" and tell you when to call back as the case has to be opened and assigned visa category etc.

To answer your question - You're not able to send in ANY documents without a CASE number... because it'll just go to trash... it has to be tied with the approved case...

Hi, Thanks for the answer. I tried million times, NVC number 1-603-334-0700. It is always angage. So I could not talk to any human being so far. Do human exist in NVC?

Forgive me but what do u mean.

Hi,

I got my I-130 approved on 10/5/2010. However I am still waiting for NVC case number. I emailed them. I wrote letter to them with a copy of approved I-130. Now I am asking my congressman to help.

I have to leave the country next month so I would like to submit all the forms by 10/30. What should I do?

Can NVC accept AOS (864) with out the case number?

My wife has not received any 3032 form either.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMarch 2010 CR1 filers

The average days between NOA2 and NOA1 went down to 160 days from 161 days yesterday. This should give you some idea as to when you can expect your junk to be approved. Also more, half of all April filers have their NOA2 by now. Half more to go.

Hello,

Thanks for the information. How you got this detailed information about 51% april filer approved?

Hello,

I am shocked to hear that it has been so long. I thought my case is only slow one. It is only 4.5 months to my case with no response.

I suggest to visit Congress man office again and try your senator too.

After 5 months completion,
1) Call USCIS to check the status
2) If not satisfied, call Congressperson to enquire

Hello, I am also an April Filer (NOA1 on April 9th). I also have not been touched at all  I've noticed that when cases get touched back to back it usually means that you will be getting an answear shortly. I guess we just have to be patient and prepare for the next stage in this long process. Good luck to all of us and keep us posted please :)

Hi, Thanks for the information. Have you done any thing as your five months are completed? Have you contacted any one? Any reaction from them!

Without touch, poeple can get approved.

When you create an a/c in USCIS site with your Receipt#, you can see "Last Updated Date" which is touch.

Thanks, I will contact USCIS after September 29. If any one else got approved with NOA1 before April 29, I would like to know. M. Yunus

Hello all,

I am April filer (April 29, is the date on NOA1). I have not seen any action on my petition.
I see that a number of people say that "touched on this date" etc. What it means "touched"?
