US Citizenship General Discussion	Interview experience question in New York.	Hello All, My friend went to his naturalization interview last week. He passed the test, however, the officer has asked him to provide his previous marriage, divorce certificates and his current marriage certificate. He applied on a 5 year rule and immigrated on green card through his mother. I'm not sure why the officer is looking for those documents as he did not get his green card through marriage. The problem is: he can't find his first wedding marriage certificate now as his entire house was destroyed in Sandy. The officer has asked him to bring his documents on Monday - please advise what he should do in this scenario and what should he tell the officer. The officer have not approved his case yet - pending the wedding certificates. By the way, both of his marriages were performed in his country of origin. I would do as PathN said, and have an Infopass Appt. to explain the situation re his home. If they are still requesting the marriage docs, it is not that hard to get copies of those. He can fill out the form from the registry website and fax it to a relative with a letter of permission to collect on his behalf, then they can post the cert's express. Canada	Police Check - Fingerprints needed or not?	Hi All, Does anyone know if we are required to have fingerprint check included with the police check we need or we can just have the general name police check done? I keep hearing different things. Thanks so much Yes fingerprints, and you need to pay extra for that, and they will question why you need fingerprints, but persist and explain that it is for the immigration visa. F/prints is not the norm, but they will do it once you explain that you have to have them. Allow up to a month to have them done and you can get them before your packet 3 arrives. Good luck. Philippines	Booking Flight but it says credit card holder should be passenger	has anyone encountered such while booking? are they really strict about it that the credit card payee should at least be with the passenger or the passenger itself...it's for hawaain air.. In my country I had to have a signed affidavit from the father stating that he knew his child was immigrating to America and he gave his permission for her departure. They mean that if you are OVER 5 months waiting, you can ask for a service request, instead of being told to wait another 2 months before even calling. So it is not for nothing. I have just applied for my Police Report, got blood test done yesterday for Immunity as I have no vaccine records, and I am going for my medical mid-December so i don't get caught in the Christmas/January holidays. The embassy should have a listed packet 3 example showing you what they require. There is a list in my embassy and it shows whether they want original or copy or both for various docs etc. Have a good look around on that website as that will be the information for YOU. I don't plan to get the I134 stuff dated and sent until the NOA2 has arrived, could be close, could be far away...
