K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCR1 / IR1

Hi everyone, helpsmilie.gif

Well I am not sure what is going on, but I am not getting my approval letter from immigration. This all started on Nov 9. Now I am not sure where to go from here. I have called and everyone you talk to has a different story. Does anyone have a suggestions? I am at wits end. I keep calling the NVC and they have no record of anything there. They said it would take ninety days before they would have anything on our case. But I read some ppl here in less the thirty days.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFile for CR1 or K3 from within the US?
QUOTE (Jami @ Dec 22 2009, 04:57 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I have to show ties even though we'll already be married and can show that we're working on the visa, that we're doing it the legal way? That would be kind of a problem, I don't really have any ties back home. I'm living with my parents and I quit my job so that I could go to the states for 6 months to find out if I really wanted to marry him. The only ties I have are a Canadian bank account and a student loan. Would they let me in if we show them that we have all the paperwork filled out for the visa and the money to send it in?

I am married to a Canadian and we were doing immigrations down in the states and the attorney we hired dropped the ball on us. So my husband was so discussed with everything he just wanted to move back to Canada. So we packed up everything we had and we were on our way back to Canada. Off we headed, when we got to the border they asked if I would be moving to canada and I responed with a yes and someday. They made us go inside and the border agent was not a nice officer. She denied entry and I had to drive back to reno. I was so bummed.

But to your question. You are best to get a visa once you are in canada. You are allowed 6 months in Canada with out a visa. But make sure you get your passport as proof. I lived up there for 5 yrs going back and forth. I would come back to the states every 6months. If you dont want to do that, you can apply to extend your visit. You have to tell them why you want to and you can stay to get to know one another. Not sure where you are going but some provience are differant. I was in Alberta.

Hope this helps. good.gif

CanadaPersonal Documents

If you sent the origianls to NVC, they should forward them onto Montreal, bring copies just in case. You'll get a verification letter with your interview date stating which orginals they have and what you need to bring to Montreal

Good luck

Thank you for your help on this canadian_wife....I am getting so nervous about the interview, which we don't even have yet. I am just hoping we get in for Dec.

ok here is my story, We have gone thru the whole immigration process. Been approved on every except his medical. So he delayed the medical cause he was working in canada and wanted to retire at his job. So I was checking on our status and there is nothing there. So we are thinking that the they canceled out immigration papers, but we are not sure. So I am asking if anyone knows where I can call and find out? Our interview went great. The guy said just to mail his medical and they would issue his green card

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI - 130 Stalled in transfer from home land security to NVC

This happened to me. I got NOA2 6/29 and had to wait that 15 business days and did the NVCresearch and they of course said "we don't have it" than on 7/28 called CSC and guess what it was just sitting there. The supervisor asked me did I want her to send to NVC and she did and it arrived and was received at NVC 7/30. I lost 31 days.

So I would call the service center that processed your petition.

Where do I get the CSC number? I would like to call them also. Thank you for your help on this matter

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI - 130 Stalled in transfer from home land security to NVC
Hi everyone,
I previously posted and got great advice back for some more.

I Finally got through the i-130 process and received my NAO2 for my wife.
Notice Date: November 23, 2012
Receipt date: August 21, 2012
Priority Date: August 20, 2012

I have all her documents ready from the shortcut guide previously given to me with a link LingChe NVC Shortcut and was finishing my sponsor documents too for the NVC requirement but after 30 business days I did not get a packet from the NVC.

I called the NVC after waiting 30min on the phone I got through, they told me they did not receive my package from homeland security. I gave her my WAC and she checked for me. I later was told last night and emailed my NAO2 to nvcresearch.state.gov asking for a case number and the IIN.

I am US citizen and she from the Philippines in case it's any relevance I was wondering how long is this going to stall my process.

I hear what your are saying. Out file was sent there too. They said it was put into a A-File. Whatever that means. I have been waiting since the end of Oct and still nothing. I called my sentor and they are taking care of it. That is how I found out about the A-file. But I don't know what a A-File is. I called NVC today and nothing. I am a US citizen also.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIR 1 - CR 1

http://www.visajourn...he_NVC_ShortCut

take a look at the short cut through NVC and note the documents necessary. You can download the forms and complete them early so they are reading.

The beneficiary can also begin working on the police certificate and the 'long form' birth certificate as well

Good luck

Thank you so much for your help. Will he need police certificates from the US and Canada or just canada?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurestravel question

So, my husband and I have come to accept that the 5 month processing time will, in fact, be longer via Montreal. I was hoping to get everything done before December so I could watch him graduate from University, but it does not look like it will be finished before then. That's ok. My question is this: If I wanted to visit him for the month of December to watch him grad and spend Christmas with him, what do I need to bring to the border as proof of ties here in Canada? I'm currently living back with my parents so I do not have a lease agreement. I am self employed, so I do not really know how to prove I'm coming back that way. We will, of course, purchase a return ticket and I will bring our paperwork as proof we are going about it the correct way. I just really want to see him walk at his grad and spend Christmas with him. Any advise would be appreciated! Thanks a bunch!

I just went up to see my husband and I had to have letter from employer, paystubs, lease agreement, birth cert, passport, all current letters from immigrations. You need to show you have started with immigrations. As for you, you could get a few letters from customers, letter from parents showing that you are living at home. You can call border control and ask them also. Thats what I did and they were very nice about it. good luck on your immigrations.....

I call Montreal Consulate today and they said they are 5 to 7 months behind. Then they also said that when NVC tells you that you paper work has been sent to montreal when really it hasn't been, they can't send it to Montreal until they have set up and appointment.
