To substantiate the the information regarding income and resources the sponsor should attach two or more of the following items to the affidavit.

* notarized copies of his or her latest federal income tax return;

I was wondering, how one goes about having their tax return notarized. I do my taxes on Turbo Tax and file electronically (I print out a copy for myself though...and that's what I gave my fiance to take back to England with him.) What exactly is getting notarized? A signature? If so, can a notary public just notarize copies that I've printed off from home? This is the one form that's given me the most aggravation! mad.gif Any help would be much appreciated...

Notarizing a tax return is not needed. And I always just send copies form my turbo tax and it has always been OK (no signatures as I also file electronically) - just be sure to attach W-2s or 1099s if applicable. I never ever thought it worthwhile to get IRS transcripts but many people like that - it's your choice. Good Luck

I'll just go with what I've already given my fiance then. Thank you! smile.gif

Try not to worry. Mine came though quite quickly.

As for wondering why they won't accept the signature - why don't you call and ask them.

Your picture has to be signed by one of the following:

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionUK Police Certificate Question
Just looking for some information and advice about this document. My fiance called the police department to ask if a certain person's signature would be okay on his photo and they told him "yes." My fiance received an email today stating that they won't take that person's signature. We're wondering why not...and what we're supposed to do now. I don't even understand the need for it unless it's the equivalent of a reference like you'd need for a job application in which case, the person who signed it is not a relative and has known my finance for quite a long time.

This is a potential 3-4 weeks added to an already drawn out process and I have a feeling our packet 3 will now beat the police certificate back to him. Should we be worried about running out of time to get the completed checklist sent back to the Embassy?

Thanks,

Kelly

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLONDON PEOPLE BETWEEN NOA2 AND INTERVIEW
We're still waiting for our interview date as well. Lee sent in his checklist on Oct 27th...had his medical on Nov 10th and all the DOS could tell me when I called (Nov 25th) is that the Embassy received the medical results from Knightsbridge...and then those extremely hated words "Just be patient." GAH!!!! sad.gif

Finally we received our Packet 3 today. This after the Embassy mis-mailed it and it got lost. Meh. Anyway...here's hoping we can get a fast interview date as we'll be ready to send the packet back tomorrow. *crosses fingers*

Hi there smile.gif

We're currently awaiting Packet 3 from London...seems to be taking forever.

How de we get in touch with the London embassy? I want to find out if they sent out our packet 3.

Hello,

Please take a look at the link below for the embassy. You will need to call the number they provide and they will give you a email code that is good for one week to make inquaries about your case. From what I've heard they will not answer questions on the phone.

http://london.usembassy.gov/

Good luck & I wish you a speedy journey!!

I called the Department of State and they gave me the dates things were received and sent out. They're VERY helpful and, dare I say it, friendly. 1-202-663-1225 press 1 and then 0...it'll bypass all the instructions for other things and get you in line to talk to a Visa Officer. Have your case number and your social security number on hand...and also birthdates of you and your fiance. Good luck!! smile.gif

This is very common to happen in CSC but i've not heard of anyone from VSC not being updated in the system. Very interesting. It may sound like a silly question but are you sure you have the right number? If so, this is good news for other VSC'ers.

Congratulations on your approval! I'm sure you'll take it any way you can get it!

Yup, I triple-checked our number yesterday. Everything appears to be correct...plus we had touches on our case before when I had to send in an address change. I'm not picky though...approval is approval! hehe Thanks for the congrats. biggrin.gif

Thanks...guess we'll just have to sit tight and keep obsessively checking. lol smile.gif

I just wanted to add to this (for those still waiting)...I received our NOA2 yesterday in the mail and the case status website still says it's pending. So even relying on the USCIS for that is kinda "iffy".

Anywho...good luck to everyone still waiting....hang in there!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEmail approval time
My Fiance and I were wondering if there was a specific time period during the day that approval emails are sent out by the USCIS. Usually people post a copy of what they received with their application number x'd out, but there's never been any mention about what time of day they received that email. We're filed with the Vermont Center btw, so EST conversion would be greatly appreciated by any that respond.

Thanks!
