Medisys needs 3 days after the medical date (so 4 business days total -  no weekends or holidays) to get the results back from them.  If you book on Tuesday afternoon, expect the results late Friday afternoon.  I got mine just barely before they closed and my interview was Monday am.  I suggest going earlier in the day or give an extra day in there to be sure.  Also for any vaccinations you can a) get your blood tested by your doctor to see what you have immunity for (you only need it it for MMR, Tdap, Varicella [chicken pox] and right now the flu shot.)  and then go to your health clinic and get the ones you're not immune to for free OR b) pay for them at the medical which is about $25+ per shot.  I suggest doing it the free way.

Cool thanks! I looked at the montreal list ( http://travel.state.... - Montreal.pdf ) and it says more vaccines than that?

I can only assume that your deed would work if it has the asset value.
As for the Property assessment notice, all homeowners where I live receive one from the city each year.  I don't know how it works elsewhere... how do they determine your property taxes if they don't follow a similar process... another assumption on my part, but I guess the City or Town Hall would be a good place to inquire about this.

See above.idea9dv.gif

There may be costs to have them done at the medical, so it would likely be best to have them done by a physician in advance/ covered by your health care.

Okay cool, but he can have his medical close to his interview right? Because he only wants to fly to montreal once :x.

I know this is a little pre-emptive but: if my husband is missing vaccines, can he just get them at his medical? Also he lives in Nova Scotia, so it is possible for him to have his medical + interview close to each other, right?

Well I can't help but be positive because the USCIS stage was a nightmare! Everyone at NVC has been polite and courteous :).

I just sent off the supporting documents to DS260... so just waiting at the moment smile.png. This stage moved so fast compared to USCIS... it's a blessing. You can add me to the sheet if you want, all info in my sig.

I will start calling next week, as now that everything is in I just need to hear case complete, right? smile.png

Did this pop up when filling in the DS-260 (near the very end)?

Either way, it wouldn't hurt to print, sign, and date it. Then bring it to the interview. Although, I'm not a male tongue.png, so it wasn't required for me, so I don't really know too much about it. But like I said, it won't hurt bringing one more piece of paper. Only hand it over if requested.

Yes it did! I will print it out and have the hubby sign it prior to the interview :).

Hey guys! (or Saylin!)

Since my husband falls into category for this: https://ceac.state.g...ign/DS-1810.pdf

Do I need to print this prior to the interview? It said that by opening this up and clicking digitally signing I was consenting, I just want to know if I should stuff this into the folder or not

I filled out the ds261 for my husband who is in Bulgaria. At the end of the form it does ask for an electronic signature. But then it asks if anyone helped you prepare the form. You say yes. Then it asks you who and what is your relationship to them. That's where you wil put your name and that you are their spouse. Mine went through just fine. smile.png

So did you sign your husband's name or your name for the signature? I'll be filling out my husbands too.

how long did it take for you to get the iv bill after you sent in the ds260? i called yesterday and the lady said 5-10 days... is that right?

All my information is in my signature! Do you mean DS 261? I haven't done DS 260 yet (IIRC that is part of the IV track).

Just received the invoice for IV! Question though: they have my address listed wrong (mine, not my husbands who is the beneficiary). Which is weird because it was right before...lol. Are they going to mail anything to me or is it all electronic? (I moved 1 street number + an apt number, so they often change the apt but not the street number...)

AOS forms all set in!

Now to wait again 8)... Actually after the hectic ness that was yesterday making sure the AOS was OK, I don't mind lol. So how do you I know if the AOS is ok? I know it'll take them a while to receive and process it.

Hey Saylin: when filling out my father's I-864, part 6 #5 & 6a... He is married to my mother and they file married, filed jointly. For "current individual annual income", is that his and my mothers JOINT or just his?

Also if it is just his, then do I fill out my mothers information for part 6a?

SashyFemaleCanada2014-02-06 21:25:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - February 2014

Also sorry to ask ANOTHER question , but for my current annual income, can I use last year's income or do I guess? I am a student and I have worked odd jobs so I'm not sure how my income compares to last years.

SashyFemaleCanada2014-02-06 12:30:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - February 2014

Did you FILE the last 3 years though?

Regardless, you need to fill out the three years. If you didn't file the other two years, put in $0.00. DO NOT LEAVE IT BLANK. Doing so will get you a checklist.

Okay thanks... I need to find out that information then and yea I did file.

For part 7: do I need to do this even though I am using a sponsor? ($ in bank accounts etc)

on i-864 part 6, 13 b, 13 c,  (total income most recent 3 years)I need to fill this out? I only ordered my tax return for the most recent year.

also part 7...since I am using a sponsor can I skip this?

In response to part 2 (5)  , my husband doesn't have an Alien Number but it won't let me put N/A. Should I just write N/A when I print it out to sign it, or just leave it blank?

Excuse me for this horrendously stupid question, but do I fill out I-864 via typing and then print it out and scan it, or can I print it out, fill it in, and then scan it?

Uh also, I am printing out the Document Cover Sheet to send in with the PDF, right? Because it says "

  • Unless this case has joined the Electronic Processing Program you will need a Document Cover Sheet. You may use the Print Document Cover Sheet button below to print one now. If you cannot print a copy now use the Email Document Cover Sheet button to send an electronic copy to an e-mail address where it can be printed later. "

I am using a joint sponsor for the AOS, my father. Should I use I-864 or I-864A? We do not live together but live a block apart.

Also: I saw somewhere that I need to provide proof that my father is my father, is this correct ? I do not see this in the Montreal EP guide but I do see that I need to provide proof of his citzenship.

What IS loomis express? It seems to be a shipping company but I'm confused why one would register for it.

Also my DS261 was avaliable today so I filled it out! I still haven't gotten my ENROLL confirmation though, does that make a difference?

Hi. so I got a checklist for my checklist because I asked on here, and if they ask for a checklist you need to resend THE ENTIRE FORM,, NOT just the page it was quoted as being incorrect. I'll have to dig, but i know Saylin told me I only needed to send in just the one sheet (the checklist was because I forgot to fill out a box, and unlike the checklist for my sponsor it did not say to resend the entire form)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - March 2014

I think this is something that needs to be clarified

According to the instructions here http://travel.state....to-the-nvc.html there is no mention of having to wait to receive an ENROLL accepted email before emailing anything to NVC. This is what is says:
Group B: Optional Electronic Processing - Choose from below
If your case is processing as part of Group B (see Table 1 above), then you may choose between electronic or mailing forms and documents to NVC.
Electronic >> (Submit scanned forms and documents by email)
If you wish to use electronic processing, you must first opt-in to electronic processing by following the steps below.

  • Send an email to the NVC at NVCElectronic@state.gov.
  • Enter the code ENROLL followed by your NVC Case Number in the Subject line of the email. For example: ENROLL GUZ2009123123. Refer to ONE CASE per email.
  • Include in the body of the email:
    • Your name;
    • Your NVC case number;
    • The petitioners name and date of birth (if the visa petition is employment based, include the employers company/organization name instead of the petitioners name and date of birth);
    • The principal applicants name and date of birth; and
    • List all email addresses where you wish to receive correspondence from the NVC regarding your case.

NOTE: If you chose to submit forms and documents electronically by email, then you MUST continue to submit all forms and documents by email.

  • Once you have sent your opt-in e-mail to the NVC, you may follow the Group A: Electronic Processing guidelines above to submit documents to the NVC.
No mention of waiting for ENROLL accepted email before emailing the AOS or IV.

Saylin can you verify this as there seems to be a discrepancy somewhere? Saylin did you wait for the ENROLL accepted email before you emailed anything to NVC?

Per Saylin's MTL guide: Keep in mind, you should only email the two packages (AOS and IV) after you've gotten the acceptance email saying your case can now be processed electronically. You can find an example of what it says below in the section labelled Correspondence (it may have changed slightly since 2011).

I know that I didn't mail my things until after I received the ENROLL e-mail. Maybe ask an operator?

Well thats scary because I never received this response after I sent my package on the 6th via email nor did I receive it this evening after I re-sent the package via email. Its under 10MG for sure and the email address is correct so I have no idea what is going on here.

I sent my checklist on the 5th and got the auto reply , so Im not sure what to tell you.

To everyone else: Called NVC today: they received my AOS checklist but haven't looked at it yet. I have to call them to confirm case complete right, they wont send me an email?

Hey Sashy,

You never mentioned you got an email auto response from NVC when you sent your AOS. I swear this process is making me loony. Is this right? OK so let me ask again? So you got an automated response first. Then you got a response in 19 days? is this correct? I never got an automated email after I sent it.

Thanks in advance

Yup! So first you get:

"
Thank you for your recent inquiry to the National Visa Center (NVC).  This e-mail is an auto response.  Please do not respond.

We review and reply to e-mails in the order they are received."

Then when they log it you get:

"Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: MTLXXXXX filed by XXXXX on behalf of XXXXX

We received electronic documentation for this case. Please allow up to 20 business days from the day the email was sent for the scanned attachments to be uploaded to the electronic case file and reviewed.

"

I never mentioned auto responses bc they are literally auto :P. Like in under 2 mins of sending it lol.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - March 2014

Whoa, now I am a bit confused, I just got off the phone with NVC. I asked if they received my AOS packet that I electronically submitted on the 6th. She then asked if I had received a auto confirmation from them by email for the AOS. I said no, the only auto confirmation I received was for enrolling in the electronic processing. So she told me to resend my AOS packet, but I think she thought that I sent my AOS packet attached to my electronic processing ENROLL email.....

Would sending the packet for a second time screw things up on their end??

When you send something you should receive: Dear Sir/Madam:

Thank you for your recent inquiry to the National Visa Center (NVC).  This e-mail is an auto response.  Please do not respond.

We review and reply to e-mails in the order they are received.

within 5 mins of sending it. Then they send you an e-mail once they've officially logged it.

HI

My wife is Canadian and I just submitted my AOS online. Did it really take 19 days to get just a confirmation that they received it? I think another Canadian applicant Christopher just asked the question of how long it will take to get an acknowledgement of receipt of the AOS

By the way all the trouble that i had to go through and now wait for confirmation, it seems a hell of a lot easier and faster just to mail everything. So far I dont see any benefit at all to this EP thing.

Yes, but they still need to process the information within 20 business days. Today I received confirmation that they looked over the packet + supporting docs and that's all fine and done (19 business days since mailed). All I'm waiting on now is a checklist I had for AOS.

With mail you would get confirmation that they have in the building sooner, but not like they would look at it any faster.
