CanadaDidn't get a T4
Well the 1800 # flames provided can't be reached from Missouri. But, my brother in law passed away on the 16 so I'm in Toronto and will visit the Tax office on Front Street. The number I called to get this info was 1800 O CANADA (622-6232) who were very helpful.

CanadaDidn't get a T4
Hi all! My husband and I are getting ready to file our taxes for the first time in the US. Which is a headache on its own, and yet as usual something else complicates matters. One of my employers has gone out of business and I have not received a T4 from them, all the phone numbers I have for them have been diconnected and I'm at a loss at what to do. I remember my accountant in Canada calling a number and he was told all the T4s on file or something but I cannot find such number on the government of Canada website!
Has this happen to anyone? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Be prepared to spend most of your morning at the doctors! I was the second one there and it took forever to get done. Good luck!

I ended up 1800- OH CANADA to get a number for the Immigration or something they gave me number for Border Services 204-983-3500 in case anyone is interested. It turns out I can enter Canada with my Green card and valid government issued ID (like a driver's lincense) Thank goodness, I'm really getting homesick!

Once we're moved into the U.S. how do we apply for a new passport? Mine is good for another couple of years but I know they're going to go by fast and before long I'll be wanting to renew it.

Melyssa,

Go to www.passportcanada.gc.ca and there you will find the form you need to fill out to get a new passport since for some reason they don't renew them. Good luck!

I told the lady there was no emergency really I just wanted to get my passport befored mid Aug other wise it might be til Christmas that I would be able to get time off. She told me I could enter Canada with my Green Card.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionNo Driver's License
Thanks so much tweety!!! I just got off the phone with USSIC and that's what they recommended I do. I'll have to call the DMV back and see if they'll accept that cuz other wise it's not worth and 1hr and 1/2 drive to Kansas City if they'll reject it.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionNo Driver's License
Happy New Year! My green card expired in Nov along with my driver's license. We applied for a removal of conditions in Sept and got a letter stating that my green card was extended for a year to show that for employment and travel, so assumed it worked for my driver's license too! When I went to renew it they gave me an extension for 60 days while they checked my status with immigration. Then I got a letter from the DVM saying that the green card I showed them had expired and they wouldn't process my driver's license until they saw a valid green card. I went back to the DVM with my letter ( I-797) and the lady called the department of revenue to see if the letter was sufficient proof but they told her no, that they wanted the actual green card. Well my temporary permit expires on Jan 5 and I still don't have a green card. The DMV is saying they won't issue me one or extend my permit unless I have a valid Green Card. Has this happened to anyone?! Any advise?! I'm just so frustrated I live in a very small town and need a car to get everywhere!!! Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
