We are preparing our I-129F and I am a little confused to the correct service center. I live in Illinois, so is it California or Nebraska, or am I looking in the wrong places for this info. Both say for Illinois. Thanks for any help you can give us

The only two possibilities are CSC/California Service Center or VSC/Vermont Service Center. Illinois sends to CSC.

It's been a couple of years I think since Nebraska did K-1/I-129f's.

Thank you so much for your reply.

Heres a link to the poverty guidelines - Poverty Guidelines

Most embassys follow the 125% because after you move you have to show that much for AOS. Some embassys are just ####### too tho lol.

Ok Thanks for the quick replies

Hi,

Where is your fiance from? I know generally a B2 visa is valid for 10 years but if he coming to the US on intent to marry, he wont be able to. Most likely he will be gven an I-94 form( arrival/departure form) and they will give him certain amount of time and he must return to his country by the date specified or he will be considered illegal. Good luck I hope this helps

He is from the UK

You can download the Form I-864P from the USCIS web site www.uscis.gov. That way you can make sure you have the current guidelines. The I-864P is the table of the Poverty Level.

Thanks, got it

In almost every case - 125% is the number to shoot for (Active Duty Military would be one exception).

Thank you so much

You can find a link to the most current Poverty Guidelines in my signature below. The 2010 Guidelines have not been issued yet, so the 2009 are still in force.

Regarding the 100% v. 125% requirement that is embassy specific. Check the London embassy website as well as the UK regional forum here on VJ to get the standards that are used for K1's in London.

Thank you so much

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPolice Certification - Germany

Most Embassies or Consulates require a Police Certificate for any place the Alien Fiance(e) lived for more than 6 or 12 months (there is a question about this length of time, possibly Consulate specific) since the age of 16 years.

It certainly would seem that it would be required unless there are instructions to the contrary in your Packet 3 from London.

Thanks for your reply

I have a question about Police certificate and hope some of you VJ members can help.

my fiance was born in germany and left there when he was 26 years old to move to the UK, he has been in the UK for over 35 years.

He has a british police certificate and passport.

Does he need a police certificate from Germany for the London Embassy aswell? or does he only need it if he was there in the last ten years?

Any clarification is welcome.

However, I won't get there until November. I'm still working and packing up and all that stuff. Plus, John and I wanna spend some more time in Germany together and then fly back to the US together.
We should have a cup of coffee in SD once I'm there :)
