PhilippinesCenomar for me ??
QUOTE (Ryan M @ Apr 22 2009, 06:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi all, i am new to the fourms and have a question.
My fiancee in the philippines who i am going to marry next month over there in the philippines is saying that people are telling her that I also need go get a CENOMAR. but im 100% american born and raised. so why do i need cenomar ?
please help my email its craftyone714@yahoo.com

thanks smile.gif

Hi ryan! You don't need CENOMAR. Yes it is a requirement here in the Philippines if your going to apply for marriage license. But since you are purely US citizen, what you have to get is your Legal Capacity to Marry which you can get from the US Embassy in Manila. You get that from Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 10:00 am only. Just present your US passport. Your fiancee is the one who will apply for CENOMAR at the NSO not you.

PhilippinesMy CR1-IR1 Interview Experience

QUOTE (Raeka @ May 16 2009, 06:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This might be so so late but i haven't had the time to post so much after i received my visa. I realized there's so much more to do before the flight.

My interview date was May 7th of this year. I live in Rizal so i had to wake up 4:30AM and prepare myself and left the house at 5:30AM. I arrived at the USEM around 6:45AM and there was a lot of people outside the USEM. Some were standing in line and were assisted by the guards to get in the building those who had 7am schedule. I had an 8:30 schedule so i went to the waiting shed outside. While waiting, there were people selling umbrellas and i had to buy one because it started raining hard. I also heard that the USEM employees had a meeting last May 5 and became more strict that they wont allow people who brought any liquid forms, cellphone, sharp objects to enter the building. Any liquid, that includes WATER! There was this woman who was crying because she brought her celphone with her and when she got it and the USEM scan machine traced her celphone. The guard didnt ask her any questions, they just reschedule her interview date at once and asked her to go home. So guys! DO NOT BRING colognes, cellphones, sharp objects like nipper or nail cutter, and usb drives if you dont want your interview date to be rescheduled. devil.gif

The guard finally called the applicants with 8:00am schedule.. and i asked the guard if I could go since mine was 8:30. Then the guard said 'Ma'am! kanina pa po yung for immigrant applicants! kanina pa dapat kayo pumasok! Yung mga pinapahintay lang po dito ay yung K type visa lang.' Bummer! So i hurriedly went in and found Koltrone in the building. She already got her number while i was just sitting there waiting for my turn to get my number. After i got my number i waited HOURS! before my number flashed on the queing board. I saw Koltrone's number flashed for the pre-screening interview, then for the final interview, but my number wasnt flashed yet.

An hour after Kotrone left, my number finally flashed. The pre-screener was nice. I was just standing there in front of the booth waiting for her to ask me questions. She just looked at me and smiled, then she started writing something, then looked at me again then asked for PICTURES, EMAILS, CARDS, REMITTANCES, MY HUSBAND'S INCOME TAX RETURN FOR 2008, CO-SPONSORS INCOME TAX RETURN. Then she asked me these questions:

- How long have you been married? When?
- Have you been married before you met your husband now?
- How many kids does your husband have?
- What are their names?
- Who is your sponsor?
- How come you dont have the co-sponsor's 2008 income tax return?
(then she saw my daughter's CRBA that my husband sent them)
- "Oh! So your daughter's now a US citizen!... Hmmm.. ok, you're good to go. Goodluck with your final interview"

Then i waited another hour for my number to flash again. Here are the consul's questions:

- Who's your petitioner?
- When's the last time you saw him?
- How did you meet?
- How many times he visited you?
- Does your husband have kids from his previous wife?
- Are you ready to be a stepmom?
( Then silence... she was typing something on the computer )
- Have you been married before? ( i answered 'no')
- (and again with a more threatening tone) Have YOU! been married before? (Answered her with a more confident tone 'NO!')

Then she said, 'Congratulations, your visa is approved'. (She didnt smile or anything when she said that. parang napipilitan lang yung pagkaka approve ko.. hahahahaha!) Then she instructed me to wait at the waiting area and my name will be called again. after like 5 minutes, my name was called to go to window 37. The lady handed me back the documents that the pre-screener took and she asked me to pay the courier then she stapled the small pink paper on the 2nd and 3rd pages of my appointment letter and the lady said i can go home after i paid the courier.

THAT'S IT!
The questions were easy. All you gotta do is answer the questions WITH CONFIDENCE. Smile even though they're not smiling. It's ok to be nervous, im pretty sure that the pre-screener and the consul knows that every person that they're interviewing everyday are nervous. But DONT stammer. Because if you stammer, they'll get suspicious.

GOOD LUCK SA INYONG LAHAT!!!! SANA PASADO LAHAT PARA MASAYA!!

hi raeka.thanks for sharing your experience...June 10 is our schedule also with my son.I just want to ask since you mentioned there that liquid is not allowed inside the embassy, also milk for my son is not allowed is not allowed there?

They will allow you and your son to enter but you have to drink or sip all the feeding bottles containing liquids in front of them (lady guard/s) just to make sure that it's really purely water or milk. Don't worry too much. smile.gif

Philippineslegitimation requirements
QUOTE (MikenKyhen @ May 21 2009, 10:42 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hello to all members of vj..

we applied crba n us passport application for our daughter..her appointement interview will be on june 15,now weres still gathering some of the requirements needed that the consul might ask on the day of the interview..i was reading this legitimation requiremnts that the embassy send us..here are the legitimation requirementS:by the way am already done with my k1 interview so now were just waiting for our daughter's application.

LEGITIMATION REQUIREMENTS:

Persons born out of wedlock to us citizen fathere and not legitimated by the natural parents subsequent marriage can be legitimated under the immigration and nationality act by one of the two methods indicated:

legitimation method 1- the us citizen father must submit evidence showing that he had legal residence or domicile in any of the states(after his childs birth and before his childs 21st birthday)in order to use the laws of the state to legitimize the applicant. This evidence may include driver license, voter registration card,rental/mortgage/bank receipts, military records, old letter(with us return address)etc...Legitimation requirements requirements vary depending on the state legitimation law OR

legitimation method 2- The person can be legitimated if:
1. the father(unless deceased)has agreed in writing(under oath)to provide financial support
for the person until the person reaches the age of 18 years and

2. while the person is under the age of 18 years-
a. the person is legitimated under the law of persons residence or domicile,
b. the father acknowledges paternity of person in writing under oath,or
c. the paternity of person is established by adjudication of a competent court.

MY QUESTION IS:
About the method number 2,does my fiance need to have it in writing and have it notarize or is there a form that we need to download or what?

date of birth of person applying applicable legitimation age by which legitimation
for us citizenship method must occur

_________________________________________________________________________
On or before 11/14/68 (1)---------------------> 21

_________________________________________________________________________
between 11/15/68 and (1)---------------------> 21
11/13/86 (applies to those who
had attained 18 as of
11/14/86 and those
whose paternity was es
tablished by legitimation
prior to 11/14/86)OR
(2)---------------------> 18
(applies to those born on or
after 11/14/86 and those
who were below 18 as of
11/14/86)
________________________________________________________________________
On or after 11/14/86 (2)---------------------> 18
________________________________________________________________________
If applicant was atleast 15 can choose either
but under 18 on 11/14/86 legitimation method 1 or 2

________________________________________________________________________

THANK U SO MUCH IN ADVANCE..GOD BLESS:)

MY QUESTION IS:
About the method number 2,does my fiance need to have it in writing and have it notarize or is there a form that we need to download or what?

No downloadable forms for this. Tell your fiance to do it by himself. I mean let him type it thru computer, indicating the process of what method you're into and let him notarized the papers in US.

those who got their kids PI passport,
what are the requirements needed to get a passport for minor/child?

im planning to get my daughter a PI passport so i wont need to get her an exit permit..
she already has her US passport...

thanks for reply

3 pcs passport size photo with royal blue background. There's a standard size for photos, so make sure you'll follow DFA's photos size. -- Photo size: 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm. Facial image size: About 3cm-tip of head to chin; with 8-10mm head clearance from top edge. Ears and forehead should be visible. (taken at least within six months )

NSO Birth Certificate of your daughter.
NSO Marriage Certificate of parents
Mother's PI passport (Original and photocopy)
Valid IDs
P750 for 7 days processing

Note: No need to bring your child in DFA cause she's minor.
Tip: Easier to apply directly to DFA than in travel agencies. Takes time in agencies, usually it took 15-20 days for their rush passports. Since you will also go to DFA for your child's appearance so better to apply directly to DFA. (its just a tip) smile.gif

i read in DFA website about appointment online.. do i need to make an appointment for her application so i dont need to wait and fall in line?
so appearance of the child is only required if u use agency?

I'm not familiar with online appointment. I think you also have to fill out application thru online so that u can make an appointment thru online also. (not so sure).
Actually, DFA has changed their application process. Unlike before that you have to wait for so long in the line. When I applied my daughter's PI passport, they just give me an application form to fill up and then they schedule me the following day for appearance and encoding. So, today it takes 2 days to finish all in all. But it does not hard as before that you have to wait so long. Upon checking your application form (on basketball court) they will attach a small paper indicating when, what time and window number of your schedule for appearance and encoding. Make sure you bring all the requirements. Please bring all the possible documents that might help for the application. Supporting docs like baptismal, BC from local registrar etc. Don't forget to bring your passport. They will ask for it.
But, if you can do that online much better so that you will only go to the DFA once. For appearance and encoding.

thank you.. yea thats what im saying, instead of going there for application, can do it online for appointment so u just go there for appearance..
what documents did u submit?

Documents I submitted:
3 Three pcs passport picture of my daughter with royal blue background
NSO Birth certificate of my daughter
NSO Marriage certificate of ours
My PI passport (they will get the photocopy)

It think it's okay. If you could printed out the summary of you conversation through video call it can help. I mean it was indicated there the date and time. If you have emails you can printed that out too. Bring a lot of pictures of you together with your son. Ofcourse please dont forget to bring your NSO marriage certificate, marriage index (CENOMAR) to justify your relationship or your marriage.

Yes. She needs to undergo medical at St.Lukes. Since she is minor she doesn't need to undergo xray unless the physician notice something wrong with your daughter like if she has cough at the time of her medical. The physician will evaluate your daughter regarding vaccination that she will be receiving unless she has records to bring with her in St. Lukes. About the tuberculin skin test, i think she will not undergo with this test unless she has a history of this before.

after the uscis approved cr2 follow to join for a minor child.. and for example na complete na sa NVC...i know this question is really stupid.. pero do you think sophia since baby sya still requires police and nbi clearance ( kc andun sa packets nila sa ds230 )? and then about the medical sa st.lukes kc si sophie incomplete ng vaccine.. do you think i have to make it updated and normally ano hinihingi lng nilang vaccine for a baby? and kung magtuberculin skin test? how long ang validity after making your medical meron ba dito nkaranas ng step by step information ng ginawa nila sa slec? and ilang days before you can comeback for the skin test..san ang masusuggest nyong agency or place to have her passport expedited? maraming salamat or kung mga tips kayo pls advise me.kc cr1 ako ang difference lng ako ay spouse petition si sophie na naman cr2 follow to join for immediate family..thank you rose.gif rose.gif

Hindi na nya kailangan ng nbi and police clerance because she's minor. I think it will only apply for ages 16 up. About the vaccines naman... Kung hindi sya complete, they will only ask kung meron na sya chickenpox vaccine, flu vaccine, DTP vaccine, Varicella vaccine alam ko eto lang yun mga basic na tinatanong nila. So kung hindi mo alam kung anong mga vaccines ang nareceived nya most probably eto ang mga ibibigay sa knya. Yung daughter ko she's one year and three months when we had our medical at st.lukes. She only received three shots since she's almost complete with her immunizations. Kung mapoprovide mo pa un mga immunization record nya before much better para hindi masyado marami shots ibibigay sa knya. Hindi ako masyadong familiar sa tuberculin skin test. About your daughter's passport naman-- mas mabilis kasi kung apply mo personally sa DFA compare sa agency. What I know sa agency kasi un rush passports nila it takes 10-15 days also may appearance pa ng parents or guardian. Ganun din naman kasi sa DFA. Pwede ka magpaschedule online para pagpunta mo sa DFA or yun guardian nya for appearance na lang and encoding of personal informations. Expedite passport sa DFA only takes 7 days and its much cheaper. smile.gif

Hello guys,

My wife and I are working on getting the papers together for the next stage of our CR1/IR1 visa. I know the next step involves police clearances. Other than the NBI clearance, what does she need to get? Does she need Barangay clearance too? Also, since she is married, does she need a clearance in both married and unmarried names? How does she do this? I know for the NBI, they have a space for other names etc, but what about the barangay clearance?

Thanks much!
uote]

Hi! I'm on CR1 visa too. In my case, they just asked for my NBI only. No need for barangay clearance. You can prepare also for police clearance in case she'll be asking for it. What I did is I get these all clearance all under married name. smile.gif

Hi everybody!

To all who had already taken their medical exam at st. Luke’s, I need your opinions, suggestion and advice or tips.
Here’s my question:

1. What documents I need to bring that they will require?
2. What are documents that they require for my American citizen baby too?
3. How much it cost the payments?
4. What kind of shots that they will give it to me and for my baby? Do they will know if that shots is needed or not for me and for my baby?

Neways, i want to hear to those who experienced lately.and please share it to me and I need your help guys because I am planning to have my medical this coming end of week.

Thanks and God Bless

Hi! Your baby doesn't need to undergo medical if she's citizen already.
Bring your appointment letter sent by the NVC.

Medical Examination Fees:
# St. Luke's Medical Center Extension Clinic (SLMCEC) in Manila, the Embassy's accredited medical facility, charged U.S. $213.35 for adults (15 years and older) and U.S. $185.35 for children (under 15 years of age) for the medical examination fees.
# SLMCEC does not accept credit card or dollar payments. The fees must be paid in Philippine pesos at the prevailing exchange rate.
# If you missed your visa interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Manila because of additional medical tests, SLMCEC will schedule your embassy interview appointment within the next two working days. SLMCEC will give you an appointment slip. You should bring the appointment slip together with your original appointment letter to facilitate entry into the U.S. Embassy in Manila

About the shots, after the immunization interview/evaluation the doctor will tell you what kind and how many shots you will be receiving.

Goodluck and Godbless!

yeah. on my white paper they checked only "submission of required documents" and submit them to windows 17-20 at immigrant visa unit. That's what I did on June 1st. I submitted personally my marriage to the USEM immigrant unit. Like you, I don't think also that I was on under review. But when I submitted my additional doc the Filipina officer on window 20 she said that CO will review again my case. My husband keep on calling USEM to followup hows my visa going on?... and then again and again...they kept telling to my husband that still with the CO for review. haayyy... sad.gif *sigh*

Philippinesgetting 2 versions of answers
QUOTE (maitama @ Jun 10 2009, 09:20 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i had my interview last may 19 with my kids,we were told by the consul that everything is ok but i have to submit an additional nbi clerance with the family name of my ex husband on it(i was already declared by the court single).so i was given the dreaded white form and under the what to do next, the third box was checked which says submission of requested additional documents.the next day which is may 20 ,i went back and submit the nbi clearance they requested and was told to wait 7-10 days for my visa.
we waited for two weeks and when we didnt receive any visa ,we called the visa call center and the first time we were told that my case was under review ( imagine my shock,so i said but the white form i got says that its not under review).so we called again and talked to another agent that told us it has left last may 27 for visa printing.so we called again today afetr few days and same thing, its at the visa printing and today its already 3 weeks after the interview ,so we called again, and the answer is its under review,ok how's that.so i finally guessed its under review since if it is approved then it should been with us after 7-10 days after the interview right?
SImply we cant call anyone who can give us the straight answer and its exasperating...
Do u guys have an answer for me?

Hi maitama! We're on the same boat. I submitted my marriage index on June 1st. They said that consul will review again my case. June 5th my husband called USEM and still the lady who answered the phone said that it still with the consul for review and said that it may take 2 weeks to receive the visa. Im also waiting for my daughter's CRBA and US passport. They said also it will only take 2-3 weeks. But still we didn't receive any of these two. *Kinda frustrating*.

Thanks xylide! I had my interview on April 21, but due to my daughter's CRBA application they hold my visa until I completed her CRBA. Anyway, my husband sent them a letter requesting for visa pick up because we need to be in the US before his deployment. When they received the letter embassy called me right away informing me that my visa was ready for pickup.

PhilippinesPicking up the visa
QUOTE (GD21 @ Aug 28 2009, 04:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I read in the blueprint it's like 50/50 you can pick it up. My girl really wants to because of nosy cousins who regularly open her mail then give it to her. #######!?! Obviously the visa packet has some stuff that says you can't open and I am worried it'll get opened... But anyway anyone with some recent experience on this. Does she just ask at the end and hope or should she mention the situation? Even though it sounds far fetched it's apparently true.

Hi! I just read your post. I had my visa picked up just two months ago. Just call the embassy and ask if they will allow your wife/fiance to pick it up. In my case, My husband called the embassy and said that he can fax a request letter for visa pick up and they granted it. Actually its case to case basis and really depends on the consul who's the one conducted the interview. Goodluck and God bless. smile.gif

Good afternoon, sis! I just read your post after sending you an email. I was asking if you already receive your baby's US Passport and your visa. Hope you will get it soon. Our baby's appointment is on July. We were hoping it would be sometime this month so things are completed before hubby arrives to get us. With the schedule ACS gave us looks like hubby will be here by then to attend our baby's CRBA.

Just have faith that you'll get your visa and baby's US Passport soon so you can fly to the US before your hubby's deployment. God bless!

Hi sis! Thanks. Goodluck on your interview. I hope everything's going to be okay with you guys. Really? I'm happy for you. At least your family is complete during CRBA interview. How supportive is your hubby... *kakatuwa naman* smile.gif I'm still hoping and praying to receive them by this week. Let me know how things going on with you guys ok. any updates ok.

PhilippinesVisa and CRBA
Good day to all my fellow VJ'ers!

Almost two weeks since my daughter's application for US passport and CRBA been approved and still we didn't receive her US passport and CRBA cert yet. Although, the consul said that it takes 2-3 weeks for us to receive it. Now it's turning to our third week... hopefully we receive it by this week. Based on what I read here regarding CRBA, everyone else they receive their child's CRBA in just exactly two weeks. Anyway, we're still waiting until this week.

One more thing... with regards to my visa. I'd just submitted last week June 1st my additional requirement which is marriage index. They said that the consul will review again my case since my daughter is also included in my petition, but then again she happened to be a USC already. They're asking me for a copy of my daughter's CRBA and I said that I don't receive the certificate yet. ACS told me that they forwarded already the copy of my daughter's CRBA to the Immigrant Visa Unit. Last Friday, my husband called US embassy to followup my visa and the girl that she had talk with said that still with the consul for review and it takes more or less 2 weeks.
This really take too long for them to review my application? *sigh*
Does anyone here experience like our case? especially with regards to issuing the visa?
Normally how long does it take before i get my visa since we are requested to submit additional requirement?
I just hope this won't take long. We're run out of time. We have leave PI as soon as possible or at least within this month before my husband's deployment next month.
Please help me to pray to receive my visa and my daughter's US passport/CRBA as soon as possible. *hopeless*sigh*

Thanks for reading my post. Your comments are appreciated. God Bless us all! smile.gif

Have your hubby notarized all of them in the US. Affidavit of parentage and physical presence can be done by your hubby. He should computerized that and have them notarized in US. I think there's a downloadable forms for that.

Philippinesconcerned about CRBA processing time and requirements...
Hello guys! I just called USEM-ACS a while ago to inquire about the progress of my daughter's application for US passport and CRBA.... and guess what... she's approved already since last week after they received our additional documents. Thank GOD!!! Our case taker said that we'll just have to wait 2 -3 weeks for her US passport and CRBA certificate.
I would like to thanks to all VJ'ers who became my friends here in VJ who guided me and giving advices with regards to CRBA application.

Especially... many thanks to blumist!!! Thank you so much sis. Got approved na. By the way sis, i have questions. Sabi kasi sa akin sa ACS naforward na rin nila un copy ng consular report of birth ng baby ko sa immigrant visa unit. She said that ako na lng daw magfollow up sa kanila with regards to my petition. Anyway, i got some phone numbers also here sa VJ and everybody says that it would only entertain for US Citizens callers, so I guess I let my husband call them to inquire about my visa status. I'll let u know if we have any other updates. thanks again sis. Godbless you! smile.gif

For everyone who went through the CRBA process already, we have a few questions:

1. About the ultrasound records, did you have your OB sign them?

2. How many copies of your child's Birth Certificate did you include in the application?

3. How many notarized copy of your fiance/husband's passport visa pages did you submit with the CRBA application?

4. How soon FEDEX/Air 21 will pick up the CRBA package after calling them?

Hope you guys will answer our questions and guide us in our child's CRBA journey. Thank you!

Hello. Welcome to VJ.

First, you have to call the ACS-Fedex/Air 21 (02-879-4747) courier at USEM for them to send all the application forms for your child, which will include application forms for CRBA and US passport. As soon as you already signed up all the application forms, gather all the documents listed on the application forms or they will also send you a copy of all the requirements that are being needed for the processing of your child's CRBA application and as soon as you completed all the requirements, you have to call again the ACS-Fedex/Air 21 for them to pickup the CRBA package of your child together all the documents that are being asked. ACS will contact you for your child's appointment/interview as soon as they received your application. By the way, you have to bring your child on the said appointment/interview for his/her appearance. This is so important.

Second, for your another sets of questions.

1) No need to sign up by your OB, as long as your name was indicated on the ultrasound picture, the date and other information about the pregnancy, and as far as I know, when you have your ultrasound there's another sheet of paper indicating the summary/information of the ultrasound test which is signed by the doctor who did the test.

2) Submit only one NSO birth certificate of your child. And if your married, you also have to submit your NSO marriage certificate.

3) About the notarized passport, tell your fiance/husband to photocopy all the pages of his US passport and have them notarized in US.

4) 1-2 days after your call, Fedex will pickup your CRBA package.

Hope these information will help you with regards CRBA application of your child. Goodluck and if you have more questions just PM me or you can post your questions here. smile.gif

Planning to call Air 21 on Tuesday for them to pick-up our son's CRBA package. While organizing all the forms and documents to be submitted, I noticed something on the DS-2029 which my fiance filled out. It's on item #4 of the DS-2029 which ask about the Hour. Our son was born at AM. Instead of checking "AM", my fiance checked on "PM". So, that freaked me out and told him how upset I was with his mistake. Mga sis, is it ok to make corrections? Can I just white out the box for "PM" and check "AM"? Could this be a problem? Has anyone experienced or have done corrections on any of the CRBA forms? So worried, please advice mga sis on what to do.

Hi! I think u can change it naman, since it was indicated on your son's birth certificate. They will compare it with your child's CRBA application and NSO birth certificate. Make sure the same yun entry mo sa #4 of DS 2029 and sa bc ng baby mo para hindi maconfuse sa ACS.

On my daughter's application I put the time which is 10:20 then I encircled the word AM. I gave birth to her at 10:20 AM also it was indicated in her birth certificate.

Ok lng yun. Kasi NSO only printed the first page which is basically the information of your baby and the parents. Kaya siguro may stamped ng Phil.embassy from US because you sent it to your hubby for acknowledgment tama ba? Don't worry too much. As long as it was printed on security paper of NSO and he was registered here and acknowledged by his father... nothing to worry.
