US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionSingapore Police Certificate of Conduct

APPROVED!!! My fiancee and I have been texting back and forth, and I wanted to let everyone know that she was just approved for her visa about an hour ago. I'm very happy right now and you all will be fine. Like I said up top regarding Singapore, she just took with here the email and the notice from Singapore's website. Time to celebrate!...but first I should get to bed.

AWESOME! Congratulations!!! This is a big load off my wife and I's back. I'm glad it went through. Just to double check, we just need to email the Manila Embassy regarding Singapore's CDCC and print the notice right? I'm happy that you are able to be together =)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionSingapore Police Certificate of Conduct
I'm glad I found this thread!! =) I am also in the same boat. My wife stayed in Singapore for about 6 years. That is where we met. She has her sister married a Singaporean and she stayed with them for awhile til she moved out on her own... anyways. I was under the impression we couldn't ask for the CNCC from Singapore until we had the NoA2 or was transferred to the NVC so I didn't submit her clearence yet. She has been very stressed about this because we have friends that are coming here as well who married or an engaged and went through and are currently going through the immigration process. I called Singapore to find out and they told me the news about it no longer being issued and he just said, get a lawyer to help you and hung up haha.... very nice. I know I called when they opened but gees... anyways, I'll be on this thread for awhile to get all the info I need for her. Thank you guys so much for posting this information and good luck on the interview! I hope it goes well...God bless.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-130 Rejected because incomplete addy....
I just received my I-797C Rejection Notice... very depressing only to see that a small minor detail on Part C of the I-130 for my wife was incomplete. There is no better way to state her current address, it is accurate and correct. It may look odd, her street is Idogan Village. It isn't St, or Way or Ct. it is how it is. She recieves mail with it, i don't understand how it isn't complete. Should i try and find a more sutable address for her or ask the customer service details on why they rejected the I-130?

The other question is, the paper work all have numbers on the side, it looks like they scaned it or had been put into some kind of inventory. Do i have to redo everything or just update the I-130

Oh I also, would they also find new things wrong if i send again? I'm a very upset over this and my wife is having anxiety issues that the visa won't go through. Any advice will suffice. Thank you to all who read and reply

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJoint Sponsor Dilemma
That's a probable out come but there is also so many others. From what I understand, it's extremely difficult to get a divorce let alone an annulment in the Philippines but even then it's very unlikely that will happen. I do believe in preparing for the worst but also have faith in the best. To accept all outcomes is best. His main concern is he is retired. If he wasn't, He'd sign it in a heartbeat and I completely agree is discomfort is justified. I told him I won't hold it against him if he doesn't. It's hard to get a good stable job here and if you do, it feels like you have to fight for your life to hang on to it because there is always someone behind you ready and willing to work harder and cheaper for your position. It's just getting my wife here and her helping out financially as well so we won't have to make my father feel we are a burden to him.

Thanks for all the comments and support. I suppose this concludes my hope in finding some answers for my fathers concerns.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJoint Sponsor Dilemma
Yes I am applying for the CR1 Visa and I believe they have to accept a joint sponsor as apposed to the K visa's. We have been married since Dec 09'.... I knew the job I was at before we got married wasn't enough so I quit and got a better one, in which I'm in a 90 Day trial period until my full pay and benefits are in effect. I know I have to be a self sustained person to start with regardless of the visa process. It's just common sense that someone has to support the family and I have taken that role as a husband and a father. The whole point of this thread was to get more information on what a joint sponsor is responsible for on paper, but also what I can do to ease the fear for my father. A good friend in my church has done the same for his daughter because she married a guy who was making the money but she had to prove she could support him while she was a stay at home wife with a small clothing business that barely amounted to a full time minimum wage job. So he did a joint sponsor. He said even though he knew how serious this was, he didn't worry because they've never had finical problems nor caused any unnecessary debt. The point being, back to my question, "what can I do to ease the fears my father has" I don't want to lean on him financially, I just need his help so my wife can be here and we both have incomes to sustain ourselves. That's all

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJoint Sponsor Dilemma
Ok, so if she does have a medical bill, that won't be under their heads.... I'm guessing it's mainly talking about loans and government debts right? I got my tax return which was over 2k which combined with my current income is a little more than enough. I hope the AoS is approved. The other question I have is I'm living with my mother(which sucks but nothing I can do about it...yet) and was wondering if I could add her in my Household, would this still make her accountable like Joint Sponsor?

"You may count the income and assets of members of your household who are related to you by birth, marriage, or adoption. To use their income you must have listed them as dependents on your most recent federal tax return or they must have lived with you for the last 6 months. They must also complete a Form I-864A, Contract between Sponsor and Household Member. If the relative you are sponsoring meets these criteria you may include the value of their income and assets, but the immigrant does not need to complete Form I-864A unless he or she has accompanying family members" AoS USICS Website

I'm guessing I need to be the home owner for that to apply.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJoint Sponsor Dilemma
Before getting the visa and studing the process, I knew that I wouldn't qualify to support my wife on my own for the AoS to be approved. I asked my Mother to help me out and without reason, she felt it would hurt her and didn't want to help. She saw it as something she'd have to pay for, that she's risk her credit or that the goverment expected her to pay for things for us. I reasured her that it wasn't the case but she didn't want to sign. I turned to my dad and he agreed but feared because of his retirement, they wouldn't accept him. I also re-asured him that he had 2 houses in his name and that was plenty enough to prove as well as his retirement fund.

This is were the dilemma is created....he read the responsibities part and felt uneasy with this line and I quote from the i-184:

"What If I Do Not Fulfill My Obligations?
If you do not provide sufficient support to the person who becomes a permanent resident based on the Form I-864 that you signed, that person may sue you for this support.

If a Federal, State or local agency, or a private agency provides any covered means-tested public benefit to the person who becomes a permanent resident based on the Form I-864 that you signed, the agency may ask you to reimburse them for the amount of the benefits they provided. If you do not make the reimbursement, the agency may sue you for the amount that the agency believes you owe.

If you are sued, and the court enters a judgment against you, the person or agency that sued you may use any legally permitted procedures for enforcing or collecting the judgment. You may also be required to pay the costs of collection, including attorney fees."

If you do not file a properly completed Form I-865 within 30 days of any change of address, USCIS may impose a civil fine for your failing to do so."

My dad and and step-mother felt, "if she gets hurt and needs to be hospitalized and you can't pay for it, they are going to come after us"

I'm not sure what to say to this and it made me feel more discouraged in my life... It's been a year since I last saw my wife. I don't know how longer we can last. I want to move there but that might complicate the visa even more because no decent job there will pay me enough to cover the i-184.

Any help is much apprciated. I searched the forms for a like situation and see that the joint-sponsor has nothing to worry about but I don't feel comfortable until its clear they don't. Thank you very much to any and all who read and respond.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresLost in the steps toward her visa
Thanks a lot! That is more to the point than other guides that seem quiet ambiguous as far as step by step details. I just have a question about the police clearance. Do i need to send them now or does she need them for the interview?

I see that you recently did one for your step-daughter. That looks faster than I thought. Were you able to get a Temp Tax Id for her because I have a step-daughter as well that I'd like to claim on my amended tax return but need a ssn.

Hello all,

I am currently confused on what steps I need to take next. I got a NoA2, NVC sent the Choice of agent and I returned it, paid both the AoS and IV bills.... We have the I-864 filled out and got a co-sponsor to help out. Her DS-230 is filled out, signed on first part and unsigned on the next. I've been reading on this site to see what I need to do. Am I suppose to wait for a packet? or Am I suppose to send these forms and if I am, where? Just lost on this portion of the journey and need some help. Thanks!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures6-8 Weeks for RFE apporval??
HI all,

I got a RFE about my AoS I-864 saying I don't make enough and I knew this was going to happen. My father finally agreed to help out a week before I got the letter and is going to send his information to the NVC tomorrow. So I called the NVC auto message and they said, "please allow up to 6-8 weeks for the requested documents to be fully reviewed.." I haven't seen my wife in over a year and some months. We've been married since Dec 22, 09. My question is, will it really take that long? I guess that she will have her interview date by mid to end Aug and be here Sept... I'm doing my best to wait but my wife is having the hardest time waiting with her crazy family in the Philippines and I understand her why she is going nuts. No work for over a year and nothing to do but wait and deal with her family. Anyways, aside from that I ask... has anyone had their RFE reviewed faster than 6-8 week? I don't know what to tell my wife if I say that cause I know she will go nuts.

One.. my wife was a catcher in softball and anyone who played that position either softball or baseball, will get cuts and scars over time. She has been having a hard time sleeping so she tried sleeping pills.. so what? That doesn't make her depressant or suicidal. We are both pretty upset at the way this is happening. I really hope this doesn't effect the interview at all. I can't really believe this.

The mother/joint sponsor will provide evidence of citizenship as well. Birth certificate or passport data page will do. If not a citizen, provide copy of front and back of green card.

To OP, just what is your mother finical about?

Mom's finical is great. I chose her because one, my address on my ID is the same as her address. I've been to lazy over the past years to change it. Two, my pops is retired (mom and dad divorced ages ago) and mom has lots of equity and great job.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCo Sponsor for Filipina wife help

I'm sorry that you lost your job. From what I read a few weeks ago, the US embassy in Manila is hesitant to accept co-sponsors of K-1 visa applicants since their affidavit of support I-134 is not legally-binding. CR-1/IR-1's I-864 AOS is protected by law thereby granting assurance that the co-sponsor has the legal financial responsibility to the applicant. I have not yet encounter CR-1/IR-1 problems with joint sponsorship on the interview.

Thanks a bunch! I was hoping that was the issue. I know K-1 Sponcership is pretty crucial for accpetance and guessed it wouldn't be a big deal for IR1/CR1

Hello all and mainly to those with Filipino/Filipina spouses. I recently lost my job and am currently living with my Mom due to finical issues. I asked her to Co-Sponsor my wife but I am worried it won't go through because I've heard, no confirmation that it's true, that the Philippine Embassy isn't to keen on accepting I-864 A.o.S forms if the Primary Sponsor can't support their beneficiary. I will have a job soon but am afraid it won't help last years income. Any suggestions? Much appriciated. Also, love and support to all my CSC to TSC peeps who are still waiting for NoA2.... Thanks a lot. Saved me a headache I suppose haha.

The other question I have is for the Details on employment. Do I have to state the Full address as well because there is not enough room, I shortened it.

I believe so... As far as the I-485 goes. I haven't seen that in the CR-1 Guide but i'd just suppose that it was required.

The only other thing i dread is the Affidavit of Support... I was gone for 2 years so that's 2 years i wasn't making an income. My current job supports her and her child. I have been supporting them now while she waits.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresG-325a Help Emplyoment History
Hello all who have a chance to read this

I am going to file the G-325a but have a question about the Employment History

During the 5 year span, I was a Volunteer Missionary or Mormon Missionary, for 2 of those years. Do i put that in as a form of employment? IE: (Name and Address) Church of Jesus Christ (Occupation) Missionary (Time) 08/07-08/09

Or would i leave this part as Unemployed for the 2 year span?

I was NOT employed or on a payroll nor given any money for this. I was, however, given a fixed amount of support which is funded mainly by myself and does NOT have any kind of deductions such as Tax and what not.

Any advice would do. Thank you so much!!

Hello all, I have a question regarding

On my wife's I-130 and G-325a, it says my wife is currently unemployed but now because of our current financial situation, me being the only one working at a low paying job.

Will this Effect anything in the future as far as her DS-230 or anything else? I'm asking this because I heard or read somewhere it has to be consitant with her all her paper work... but i'm thinking it's just my Job status and my Affidavit of Support.

I hope this is understandable and again, thanks for any response.
