It seems that many of us met on filipinaheart.com. When someone learns the content of the 2nd RFE, please post as soon as possible. Maybe the rest of us can prepare for the inevitable.
Thanks,
Rob

So Your an FH couple also? Congrats. I wish you the best. I will let you know if mine goes through. What information did you include, or did you check 'no'?
[/quote]

I put the web address, then a note to see attached. I printed out all their Cupid holdings, addresses, phone numbers etc. Circled FH in yellow highlights. These guys own about 25 sites. Based in Australia. They all seem legit to me. It sure worked well for me, though I had to meet a lot of frogs to find a real princess.

My fiancé(e) and I met on latinamericancupid.com also from the same organization as yourself :D I contacted then directly and got an explanation from them as to how the are not an IMB because of the exceptions in the law :(I do realize that they have an ax to grind in this but I find that there reasoning is sound):

Dear Member,

We are writing with regards to your International Marriage Broker enquiry sent June 4.

We would like to inform you that we are except from the IMBRA law under the provisions of section 4 ( B ) (ii), however we are in the process of implementing an information form so that those US members who are seeking marriage may complete the required information. It is our understanding that it may be beneficial to the Spouse Visa Application if US men complete the information specified in the IMBRA regulations.

However, we need to inform you that the law commenced March 6, therefore it will be applicable if you and your fiancée met after 6 March. If you met prior to this date the law will not be applicable therefore you will not be required to complete the form.

Any further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Regards

team@latinamericancupid.com

I've been waiting for my RFE to show-up :( they sent me an email on July 5 stating that they sent it out on the 23rd of June  must be just a form letter. But I'm holing them to it...if I don't receive it by the 23rd of July I will start calling!!!

But the thing that is getting me worried is this...The IMBRA law has exceptions but the RFE does not :crying:

so according to the law we are not using an IMB but according to the RFE we are  It's driving me crazy :jest:

Just venting I think  but I sure hope someone has an answer to this conundrum soon!!! (preferably before my RFE shows up  )

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUSPS Hold mail Option FOR USCIS!

Does any one KNOW if we can hold the mail of USCIS at the postoffice while we are out of town.
Coz some people think that we cant forward it to a new address.
I called USPS today and the lady on phone told me to check with the USCIS?
Any help will be appreciated
:help:

I think, the USPS can hold all mails for you for maximum 3-week in a row while you are gone. You have to go the post office and fill out a form to hold the mail and then give it to the USPS people right there.

you can place a hold on all mail at www.usps.com do a search on "hold" ;) last month they held my RFE so it works fine...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIMBRA

I wrote a letter to my congressman. His office is right down the street from my work and I will see him on Monday at our local parade.

Here is the letter I wrote to my congressman:

I am writing to you today with reference to K-1 Visas and the new IMBRA law that went into effect on March 6, 2006.

I have a petition sitting at the Nebraska Service Center waiting to be processed. I am a US citizen residing in Olmsted Falls, OH. My fiance is a Canadian citizen residing in Kelowna, BC. My first Notice of Action date is April 21, 2006. A statement was released yesterday by Department of Homeland Security that even though the law is in effect they are not prepared to enforce the new law. As it appears now, that all service centers have been halted due to the new policies and procedures not being properly in place nor followed. They have recalled over 1100 petitions because of policies and procedures not put into place. Most of these petitions were from the Vermont Service Center due to their quick turnaround in processing petitions. The notice also states that a new I-129F form will be required for all petitions after March 6th. This form is still not available.

There has been no direction given as to how the new security checks will be performed, what will be required or what they will do with thousands of petitions sitting on the desks of the service centers waiting to be processed.

I frequent a website called www.visajourney.com. This board is designed for people going through marriage based visas. It gives guidance, forms and a place for people to share their stories through this long journey. However, the consensus is now that we are all on hold until the government figures out what they are doing and how to handle this. My question is why wasn't this happening between the time that the President signed this in January until March 6th when the law went into effect?

When an individual contacts USCIS, they have no idea what you are talking about when you mention IMBRA, new forms, etc. This has become a very frustrating process. At the time, I first submitted my petition I was told it would take 80 to 110 days to process my petition. However, now with all the service centers at a halt I cannot see how my petition will be processed within that time frame.

I have two girls from a previous marriage that continue to ask me why Darcy isn't here yet or coming soon. How do you explain to a 9 and 5 year old that it is the government holding us up from being a family?

Thank you for your time.

I was actually able to send this via email to him. I plan on speaking to him personally on Monday at the parade.

Sorry for the plaigerism (bad spellers of the world untie) but I just edited and sent a copy of this letter to the 4 congressmen of my state!!!!

Thanks for such a great letter, I was racking my brains trying to figure out what to say without sounding mean.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEmail from CA saying my case was received from NE

I checked my case status today and read this:

"On June 14, 2006, your I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was received here for processing. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates. "

Does that mean that I have a NEW NOA1 date?! My original NOA1 date was 5/5/06 when I sent it to Nebraska. On June 1 the case was transferred to California. Are they giving new NOA1 dates when the cases are transferred?

If your notice says the same thing as mine:

QUOTE:

*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

The following is the latest information on your case status

Receipt Number: LINxxxxxxxxxx

Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status:

On June 14, 2006, your I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was received here for processing. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision or advice from USCIS within the projected processing time frame*, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

National Customer Service Center (800) 375-5283.

*The projected processing time frame can be found on the receipt notice that you received from the USCIS.
*** Please do not respond to this e-mail message.

Sincerely,

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)

END QUOTE:

Then as it state the processing time will be according to the notice that you received, past tense meaning prior to this notice. the original dates still apply.

But what is alarming is their lack of editing...note the use of the word the two times together "Follow the the link below for current processing dates. " and the fact that they tell us to follow the link below...but there is no link  and we are paying these guys up to $98,000 a year  :(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNeed Help With Loggin In To USCIS

I feel like I'm mentally challenged because I've had to click on "Forgot Password" numerous times. I had the bloody password written down, but after 3 attempts, they locked my account.

So I clicked on it and the site said it sent me a new password via email but when I checked my Yahool mail, nothing. So I repeated the process a second time and then finallly got one email with new password. However, when I tried the password, it didn't work! So now I'm thinking that perhaps the email I finally opened was the FIRST password sent.

Anybody else run into problems with loggin in? (Also noticed it doesn't like Mozilla's Firefox browser)

Remember it is case sensitive:) so if you put capitals in then use capitals lol

I've had to reset mine a dozen times because a cap is manditory and I forgot it  and I keep forgetting to set the first box to client  seems to work fine with firefox though.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUSCIS website Login

Hey guys,

Does anyone know where to e-mail or call to get the password reset for the USCIS website to track my case. I tried to log in some time ago, and forgot the password, as well as the hint for it :(
Now the password is locked out and it tells me to go to the feedback manu and contact the system administrator, but I cannot find an e-mail of one to contact.

Thanks,

Mike.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHas a Senator or Congressman helped you?
I contacted my senator and found that they're inquiries slowed me down...the RFE's that were sent out on July 3th...I was sent a email that I was in that bunch...but 15 days later I received another email stating that the just sent it out. I was wondering what happened...then a few days later a letter from my senator came in the mail telling me he had been in constant contact with the CSC and will now send out my RFE. My RFE didn’t show up until the 28th of July…when no one else was receiving RFE’s :( So my conclusion is that my RFE was delayed till the 18th because of my senator contacting them in regards to my case.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresthe NOA2 Torrent--a 'what next?' lecture Please!

Yes, I realize ther is an official guide http://www.visajourn...mp;page=k1guide

But I'd like to hear from some of you veterans---what would you add (or subtract) fro that guide?

For instance----the guide says to send your Fiancee a complete copy of the 1-129E package-----but so far I don't get the impression from the what the USCIS has sent me that this necessary---

or--- send in the originals of what you sent copies of for the 129F application?
So I sent copes of my passport (an baptismal dertificate) ---so I'm suposed to send her my PASSPORT?
(and a valuable document like my baptismal cert?) and entrust these things to the notorius mail system of her country?? I don't THINK so!

Lay some wisdom on us youse veterans of this process! Please!

John, the Guides were written by 'veterans' ie people who have been through the process and laid it down for those who will come along afterward. Have you also checked the K-1 FAQ here?

The rule of thumb is that the visa applicant should be prepared to show an original of any copy that has been submitted--so that is the *general* advice.
You might get a better idea of what is next by focusing on reports from people who have used YOUR Consulate--policies and requirements vary by location.

Your beneficiary will soon receive a packet of information detailing what's required for the interview. Find out what those things are, and get them prepared. Different types of evidence are more important at one post than another, so do some background on the Consulate your sweetie will use.

I have a question though, the guides don't say exactly what is the next step...or maybe im just lame

I keep reading things about sending forms tothe NVC be the agent for the bennificiary? is this for both k1 and k3 or just k3?
is there any way to get the NVC to send the packet 3 or 4 whatever they send  to me?

my isue is that the embassy in my future is Guayaquil, Ecuador...here on VJ there is only one rcord for that embassy and it's outdated ;) I've been like a "dog on a bone" at the embassy website for the past 3 days and only find myself more confused by there bad spanglish, poor spanish (makes me wonder what they do speak) and out dated forms that are no longer accepted

Besides that, they state they want an affidavit of support but don't list which of the three available they will take.

so, sorry for the vent :innocent: do I contact the NVC?? what do I ask for?? why?? do I send them the choice of agent form?? what do they send to my fiance?? and sorry, yes this is for K1 :D

Thank very much,

P.S. after waiting 146 days for the NOA2 ... I want to try to get this ball rolling
