USCIS Service CentersCSC some sign of life

I think sometimes that the visa center processing people are graded on the number of visas processed per day. That would explain why the DACA visas are processed first and why sometimes there are applications that are processed unusually quickly because they had all their ducks in a row in their packets and there was no need for additional double-checking. Its just a theory but I have worked at companies with large call centers that grade that way and where the operator's sole goal was to end the call as quickly as possible so that they will get a performance bonus in their paycheck.

I would think that most applications originating from filers who use the guidance provided by the VJ website are in very good shape in terms of simplicity to process. It's really hard to confidently speculate why some December applications have been approved ahead of those filed in July. My hearty congratulations (as well as envy) go out to those fortunate enough to have speedy approvals. I can only imagine that the feeling is similar to that of winning the lottery.

USCIS Service CentersCSC Is Rockin'!!!
It's great to see so many approvals this week from CSC - and finally several from July and August!!! 20 VJers reported approval today alone!!! I hope they can keep up the pace to make up lost ground for all those who filed in 2012, and to give those of us who filed in January 2013 a shot at approval within 5-6 months. Way to go CSC!!!

I think they took Friday off.

What's the deal with that??? Do they normally have Friday's off? I mean it was a productive week, but I hate to lose a day per week of approvals...

USCIS Service CentersJust 7 approved on 29th?? ND 2 ON 27TH?? Please CSC dont slow down

Who did our affidavit it was my lawyer.

He sent it to my fiance

A. REQUIRED INCOME:

The objective is to demonstrate that you meet the minimum income requirements.

Here are the MINIMUM INCOME REQUIREMENTS:
Family of two: $18,912/year;
Family of three: $23,862/year;
Family of four: $28,812/year;
[it is slightly higher in Alaska & Hawaii; and lower for military personnel]

Another way to satisfy this requirement is with assets. Assets are counted at 1/3 of equity as income equivalent (ex.: $3,000 in the bank = $1,000 in income), so assets of $56,736 will suffice.

C. Keep in mind that if your fiancé(e)?s interview takes place after April 15, 2013, the embassy will want to see your 2012 tax return as well.

 W-2,

I think would be nice if you can include 401k.

Hope had helped you.

Thanks so much for this information.  I will include recent 401k and IRA statements.  I am recently divorced.  Do you know if I need to include the divorce agreement as well?  Do you know if they deduct child support and alimony payments from earnings when they determine the minimum income requirements.

USCIS Service CentersJust 7 approved on 29th?? ND 2 ON 27TH?? Please CSC dont slow down

While we're waiting for our NOA2, I have a question about documentation recommended/required for affidavit of support.  If my income is more than sufficient to cover the minimum income requirements, is it necessary for me to include bank statements, 401K statements, property holdings, etc. or are tax statements, W2's and latest earnings statements sufficient?

I sure hope csc doesn't slow down again until they get within their 5 month target goal.  That seems only reasonable to me.  Of course, I wish the same for VSC.  We should all be within that 5 month window.  That's not too much to ask.

USCIS Service Centers15 approved petition everyday?

"do you "optimistically by the numbers" think that November AND December will be done in 2.6 weeks??"

Nice to see the Empathy from CSC filers.  LOL

My heart goes out to everyone going through this K-1 visa process.  There are few things worse than 2 people deeply in love, wanting nothing more that to start their lives together - being separated by a lenghty, unpredictable, expensive, senseless, bureaucratic process.  Let's be honest - in the end nearly all of our petitions and visas will be approved - but still we're all forced to jump through these hoops like trained poodles.  It's like so many other processes in this world.  All we can do is grin and bear it.  Do everything you can to accelerate the process.  Dot every i; cross every t.  Have high hopes, but low expectations... and an endless reserve of patience.

PhilippinesKi Visa Interview Manila - Bring Kids to the Interview?

Don't worry, they will let the sister in.  All the best. good.gif

You were right!!!  They let her sister accompany them on the interview.  And all went well - visa approved!!!!!!!!!  The only reason they wanted the kids there was to verify that they match the pics on the passports and photos attached to the forms.  Thanks for the good advice.

PhilippinesKi Visa Interview Manila - Bring Kids to the Interview?

Yes, companions are allowed even if they are not the father/mother of the applicants AS LONG AS the applicants are small children, disabled or senior citizens.

In my previous post I mentioned I was allowed entry, technically I was the companion.

My fiancee called the embassy and she was told that she has to bring the kids to the interview.  They also told her that she is not allowed to have a companion accompany her on the interview to help take care of the kids.  Nevertheless, she is going to bring her sister on the day of the interview and see if she can persuade the embassy staff to allow her sister to accompany her.  I will let you know how it turns out.  Interview is scheduled for July 11.

I hope the results of the medical exam arrive in time so she doesn't have to reschedule the interview.  She completed Day 1 of the medical exam Wednesday, July 3.  She will complete Day 2 of the medical exam (immunizations) on Friday, July 5.  They are having her wait an extra day so they can get the results of her daughter's TST (tuberculin skin test) on Friday.  Nothing like cutting it close - haha.

Things are moving really fast now.  We just received MNL case number June 25.  Medical exam to be completed July 5.  CFO class to be completed July 9 or 10, and interview to be completed on July 11.  We are making up for time lost in file transfer from CSC to NVC -- it took 42 days to get MNL case number from NOA2 notice date - a process which takes on average only 20 days.

PhilippinesKi Visa Interview Manila - Bring Kids to the Interview?

Patacone,

Personally I would contact USEM staff and inquire.

Check out this link for contact phone numbers:

http://manila.usemba...ov/contact.html

I'd also recommend you obtain a full name or I.D. number if they provide one of whom you spoke with and received your answer from.

Cheers

Sounds like good advice.  Thanks.  My fiancée or I will call Monday.  I will post the answer for future reference.

PhilippinesKi Visa Interview Manila - Bring Kids to the Interview?

Companions are allowed if the applicants are very young children.

I was allowed entry to USEM when my husband and our 3 kids (aged 4, 5 and 6) went for their interview last Sept 2011.

Are the kids applicants for K2?  If yes, they are required to attend the interview.

Thanks for the information apple21.  Do you happen to know if a companion other than the husband or fiance is allowed to accompany at the embassy to help take care of the kids?

PhilippinesKi Visa Interview Manila - Bring Kids to the Interview?

You are not making the interview?  Flying over later for the flight back with the kids... that is a huge help as well.

Great experience at the embassy, I enjoyed the heck out of it.

I really wish I could be there for the interview too.  But it's really tough to get enough time away from work to both attend the interview, and accompany my fiancée and the kids on the trip to the US.  Had I known that the visa approval process would go as fast as it has so far, I would have forgone that 2-week vacation we just had together in the Philippines in May/June (even though it was a fantastic trip).

PhilippinesKi Visa Interview Manila - Bring Kids to the Interview?

hi! are her kids are beneficiaries too??? if that is so, she must bring her to the interview... I am not sure about bringing her sister to take care of the kids... but I have read that the embassy doesn't allow something like that. She must manage it by herself... practical advise is for her to get a sling carrier for the baby so her hands would be free to attend the 4 year old kid and others...

Continue reading on other post here on VJ, you might get other info... smile.png

Thanks for your fast reply.  Yes, the kids are beneficiaries too (K2 visas).  I will continue looking for the definitive answer regarding the question about whether or not her sister can accompany them to the interview.

PhilippinesKi Visa Interview Manila - Bring Kids to the Interview?

Are the children applying for K2 visas?  If so, yes they need to be there.

Not sure about this one, seems I have read of one person saying their mother was allowed to help with the children, but I don't know that for FACT.  Sorry ... I am no help with this part.

Thanks Hank.  Yes the kids are applying for K2 visas and will accompany my fiancée (and me) on the trip to the US.  It would be tough for her to manage the kids alone at the embassy during the lengthy interview process.

PhilippinesKi Visa Interview Manila - Bring Kids to the Interview?

Hi VJers.  My fiancée has her interview scheduled for July 11 at the embassy in Manila.  She has 2 kids, one 4 years old, and one 9 months old.  Is she required to bring them to the interview?  If not, is it recommended?  If she brings them, will she be allowed to bring her sister to help her care for the kids while they wait for the interview?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAny Approvals at CSC today (Friday 4/26)???

I woke up at 5 am to find a missed text message from 1245 am.  It was an update to our case.  Checked it out and YES, we are approved.  So excited, didn't even take time to get a calling card, just called my honey at her work and surprized her with the great news.  I have never heard that woman scream so loud.  Good thing it was only around 530pm her time and no guests were already asleep in the hotel.   LOL.

As usual, I am still hoping a praying for everyone else that had a NOA1 date earlier than us that they get a response very soon.

Congrats!!!  It's great to see another Phil-Am couple approved.  What was your NOA1 date?

Have you looked at your "group" from the WAC numbers? I found that more foretelling.

I'm a Jan 22 NOA1, so I'm not expecting approval of my own any time soon - just sign of progress for those ahead of me until it's our turn. It's been a great couple of weeks at CSC.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsLooks Like CSC Is Just Working on RFEs These Past 2 Weeks

I would venture to guess that VJ petitioners are disproportionately a smaller share of total RFEs sent out by CSC, because we have the benefit of the resources on this site to ensure that our petitions are more likely than not 100% complete when submitted.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsLooks Like CSC Is Just Working on RFEs These Past 2 Weeks

Is it possible that CSC has shifted it's focus to RFEs to "clean-up" after the flurry of reviewed petitions over the past few weeks?  Maybe they will resume review of new I-129Fs next week...  Or am i being too optimistic???

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsQuestion about Documentation requirements for affidavit of support

As you have some time, go order tax transcripts for 2010, 11 and 12. They are free from IRS and take just a couple of weeks to get. Then you don't need to send complete tax returns with W2s, just copies of the transcripts.

That sounds like a great idea.  I'll get to work on that.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsQuestion about Documentation requirements for affidavit of support

Have you thought about having them travel on their own, and using your time off for when they arrive in the U.S.? That's what I did and it worked out great.

I think that would be really hard on my fiancee.  She has never travelled internationally, and the kids are really young.  It would be really stressful for her making all the connections and coming through immigration on her own.

Only if you want to play it very safe.

Attending the interview is even better.

I'd really like to attend the interview, but not sure if I can swing it with vacation time from work.  I'm heading to Philippines for 2 week visit on 5/24.  And then I need to save some time for accompanying my fiancée and her kids on the trip to the states once we have visa in hand.
