Vietnam	My wife passed the interview!!	Finally, we got the pink. It's been a long time going through the process. Now we both feel very relieved and happy. She'll be getting the visa on May 16th. USCIS Service Centers	USCIS: post office returned the notice as undeliverable	I was in the same exact situation ...it sucked! as i didn't know why that happened since my address was correct. Nobody could give me an answer why this happened, I called uscis so many times...and they were telling me it's because i have to register my name to the post office, and when i called the post office to ask her about that she laughed at me, saying she never heard of such thing. someone here on VJ told me to put my name on the mail box, so when they resend the letter the mail man was smart enough to figure it out. When i finally got my letter, i noticed it had apt. 30 instead of 303, so that was the reason why i didn't get my letter, and even i called and gave the uscis my correct address the second time around it came with the wrong apt number AGAIN, thank God the mail man is smart! why can you not acces your personal data??? it's your application i would asume...do you have the receipt number for the 1-131? if so just call uscis, and let them know what happened. they will just resend you the biometrics(if that's the letter that went back)letter. US Citizenship General Discussion	Any one interview scheduled ??	I sent my N 400 on 1/25 and fingerprinted on 2/18 .. still waiting for interview letter .. Anyone interview scheduled ? I have mine this month on march 29th for my green card. Is N400 for citizenship? Is it true that after 3 years of beeing a permanent resident you can apply for citizenship? Canada	We decided to buy a house	WE were told by our current realtors that closing should be around 3% of the total cost of the house...it could be a little more , a little less but for us to have an ideea what to expect. You probably know this but you can ask the seller to pay all or at least half of the closing, as this is a buyers market ..so we should take some advantage, right? It can save you some money, and worst case scenario you will have to pay, but at least you tried! We are trying the agricultural loan VHDA, this loan will give us 102%(with fixed rate for 30 years just like FHA) that should also pay for closing, in case we have to. Good luck in finding your dream home! Canada	We decided to buy a house	I would have a sugestion for you that has not been brought up yet- since you are complaining about noise i would not recomend buying a townhouse(no offense for those owning one). I'm not sure what you are looking to buy but a townhouse it's just not worth the money. They are expensive and on one hand you still have to deal with noise from your neighbours....and on the other hand maybe you want to turn your music up cause it's you b-day or something and you can not because of the neighbours. So what's the point of owning a house if you can not enjoy the freedom? We are in the process of buying a home right now, we had several issues with the real estate agent, so be carefull who you chose to represent you, always double check everything, make sure their info is acurate. We met several realtors and unfortunately we had some bad experiences. One realtor lied to us big time, one brought us to this home that was almost falling apart and she told us for the money we were looking for(175k) we will not find anything better than that. Well...so it happens we did found something for the same price, that was 10 times better than what she showed us. So just because a realtor says something doesn't mean it's a general rule. So my thoughts to you is you have to LOVE THE HOME YOU BUY, as once you buy it, it will be very hard to sell it, so don't let any realtor manipulating you into buying something you are not 100%sure. We have a contract with a short sale now...we have been waiting to hear back for 4 weeks and a half now, thing is we are in no hurry so we don't mind waiting BUT IF we DO get this house we get an AMAZING deal. Not all short sales take a long time but If you want to be out of your apt by july i would not recomend risking putting a contract on a short sale. Foreclosures yes, we put a contract on a forclosure and we heard back from the bank in 2 days..so they are fast. Banks usually take 30-60 days to close so if you start loking now you have a month and a half to find your dream home! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Problem registering US marriage cert. in country of residency	Every day there is something.... I am trying to register my marital status in Romania, and it turns out that the marriage license office (in Romania) would not accept Certified true copy + Apostille of the marriage certificate in order to release the romanian certificate. They want original only!!! FL does NOT issue the original certificate! I spoke with a supervisor and also called the Sec. State; same thing! The original stays at the city hall Now what...?!? Suggestions...anybody?! Maybe similar cases here? I got married in Virginia and they didnt give us the original marriage certificate, i dont think any state gives out the original. i hate to bad mouth my own country, but they really need to get their act together cause this is ridiculous. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Help needed please, RFE in Dec 2010 still not received hard copy	If you have the missing document ready to send why are you waiting for the hard copy of the RFE? I'd say go ahead and send it and quote her receipt number. You have to wait for the hard copy, and together with the FRe letter you send in the evidence they are requesting. If you send it separate or without actually getting the REF letter chances are it will let lost. When i got my RFE..it actually said to submit the evidence with the RFE letter. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Help needed please, RFE in Dec 2010 still not received hard copy	I was in the exact same situation. I called USCIS in dec. because i could not see my case on the website(my case status) so they told me a letter is on the way(rfe letter)and if i don't get it in 2 weeks to call again. Called again, and they told me the letter went back as undeliverable. She told me she will resend it.I don't understand what happened because i got my first NOA, so obviously they had the right address. Someone here told me to put my name on the mail box, so i did. A week later i get the letter, and i noticed that the apt no was 3 instead of 303, so thanks to the mail man who saw my name on the mail box i was able to recieve it. Then i went for biometrics, and there i noticed that they had the wrong address, so i told the lady to correct it....what happened was that there was no more space in the box for the 03...so they just put 3.... If i were you i would call and when you do tell them you already talked to someone, a supervisor and you forgot to ask one more question, they will put you through a spervisor and they actually can see everything about your case... The people who answer the phones at uscis are only reading off a tele promter, they don't actually know much about your case...trust me on this one as i have called like 20 times, but thank god i did, otherwise i would be still waiting for my RFE. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status	YES! It is. I sent my AOS package on Nov.8th 2010, and i still can not see my case status. I get the same response you get. I called them up and they were able to give me the updates of my case. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	new drama	Same with me, i applied on the 8th of nov. and i still can not see my case status. But if you call the number below where it tells you your case can not be found they will be able to tell you what's up with your case. Before you even speak to anyone there is a robot that tells you the latest info on your case. They had my address wrong(their mistake) so if i would never called i would have never known. I called them up on the number below, and you can get info on your case if you call. I already did my biometrics and REF, and they just send my EAD and AP.
