I moved here (daytona beach area) 8 years ago from the U.K, took me awhile to adjust but it was the best move i have ever made.I have no regreats leaving london and the quality of life here is far greater than there it just takes time to adjust,
.
I applied for citizenship 3 months ago and have my interview in Febuary which i am excited about,i would recommend the move to anyone with an open mind and the will to change there life style( hard working people only) need to apply as bank holidays are few and far between lol

Had my interview today all went well.....There was a small problem that kept being brought up that i was once married to an american girl and why did the marriage end 4 years ago, but once i explained all was ok. The lady who took the interview was very abrupt and not very friendly but i guess she was just doing her job,the interview took about 15 mins,she went through my application then asked 6 questions and it was over,she said congratulations and take a seat outside,i had to wait nearly an hour after the interview to receive a letter for the oath ceremony which is taking place this friday in Orlando .

Good luck to the rest of you on your interviews and don't worry its not as bad as you think just a little over powering...

1 How many amendments does the constitution have?
2 What did the declaration of indepedence do?
3 Name one branch or part of the goverment
4 We select a U.S senator for how many years ?
5 How many U,S senators are there
6 If both the president and the vice president can no longer serve,who becomes president ?

Interview passed - was a non-issue really, as they didn't ask to see any paperwork and since the first six questions were answered right, they decided not to do all 10. It took longer to print the oath letter than to conduct the entire thing. We were in at 1:15 and out at 1:30. Ceremony is next week!

Wohooo! I passed the interview not too long ago. My appointment was at 1:00PM but I got called around 1:15PM. The IO checks all my documents and realized that I had to do a name change, and we did that. Then, the officer asks me to read one sentence (Who lives in the White House?)And ask me to write down the answer (The President lives in the White House). Then, he asks me six questions as follows:

1. What is the capital of your state?
2. What is one promise you make when you become a United States citizen?
3. Who was the first President?
4. What movement tried to end racial discrimination?
5. Where is the statue of Liberty?
6. Name two national U.S Holidays?

I am super relieved and thankful and can't wait to receive my Oath Letter. Good luck to the rest of the fellow filers for the month of October.... :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance:

Please update my timeline since I will mess up the format....

Today I received the yellow letter asking me to bring my state-issued driver's license or state-issued photo identification card.
Today I received as well my interview date, which is January 17, 2012!!!!

To bad that I cannot take advantage of the same day oath that is offered in Baltimore since I'm leaving a few days later on a trip to Europe and I don't think that I can travel without a US passport, or can I?



unfortunatly my friend you will need an American passport to leave and re-enter to USA once you have had the interview

I am sorry, but what pd means??? :whistle: Placing for interview? :blink: If it is correct then my interview is going to be after mid of February :rofl: which is not bad as I want the interview to be after end of January (too many things to do with family till the end of January) :star:

PD is priority date yours is 21st oct so you have to wait until everybody in front of you gets there interview dates,my PD is 6th oct so when that becomes current then you should not be far behind me,we both need kingstonjamaica to get there interview then we will have a rough idea when we will have an interview....
