US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 July 2013 Filers	I PASSED THE TEST!!!!!!!!!!     It did not take more than 10 minutes! No fingerprints, no picture taken   Got there by 9:15 , appointment was at 9:30, called my name by 10 am or so. Walked me into her office, the IO was a nice lady She noticed I am pregnant, asked me when my DD is She asked me if the guy waiting for me is my husband Then asked me to lift my right arm to swear the truth... etc   She started asking the  questions, asked me how many times I traveled since I got here (2).   Then she handed me a piece of paper with 3 small sentences and told me to read 1 of them, I picked the first one that said: "How many Senators do we have" she marked "correct" and then handed me same paper in the back  with 3 spaces and told me to write "We have one hundred Senators", marked correct and then asked me the same Adriana Watson's questions:   1) Name of the national anthem, 2) What's the rule of law, 3) What is the ocean to the west of the US, 4) How old do citizens have to be to vote, 5) What happened on 9/11 (I knew they were going to ask that since today is 9/9) 6) Why does the flag has 13 stripes   Exactly the same questions!       I responded them well, then asked me questions about my N-400 application, confirm home address, full name, DOB etc. Then she said I passed the test and she will recommend my approval. Then she saw me putting mine and my  hubby's passports back in the envelope. I told her I guess I don't need them, she smiled and said... Well, I see your husband came with you and you are pregnant so I do believe you have a real marriage, lol Told me I will get a letter on the mail scheduling the Oath Ceremony, might be October  or November, but fur sure will be before my baby is born. That was it! She walked me out, my hubby waiting for me and we left. And we went to celebrate to Red Lobster. Now we just have to wait. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 July 2013 Filers	OMG CONGRATS!! My interview is tomorrow! Getting nervous!            PASSED THE TEST!!!!!!!!!!     The form says:   CONGRATULATIONS! YOUR APPLICATION HAS BEEN RECOMMENDED FOR APPROVAL. At this time, it appears that you have established your eligibility for naturalization. If final approval is granted, you will be notified when and where to report for the Oath Ceremony.       So this is how is how it went down:   My interview was at the Las Vegas field office at 1:30pm. Got there at 1:15pm, went through the metal detector, checked in for the interview where they asked for my ID and interview letter, they kept the appointment letter, and they told me to take a seat on the waiting room that they would call me. Waited for like 10 minutes, and I was called in to a cubicle where they took fingerprints and a picture then sent me back to the waiting room.   I was called in for my interview at 2:10pm. My IO was a very nice older gentleman, he took me to his office and told me to put my stuff (my purse and file full of evidence) on the chair behind me. Told me to lift my right hand and "do you swear to tell the truth...." all that stuff, I said yes, told me to sit down and to give him my Nevada ID and my Green Card.   Then he went over my file, that by the way was HUGE! like 2 reams of paper huge, he made the comment "I see you brought more information with you but by the look of your file I don't think we will be needing more information at this time" (hahahaha).  He started going over all of the questions to verify the info and to make sure nothing changed, asked me if I made any more trips outside the US after I submitted the application I said No, then went over the yes or no questions and asked me if I was willing to take the full oath of allegiance and if I knew the meaning, yes, if I was willing to bear arms to defend the US if needed, yes and all of the questions at the end of the application. Once done we asked me to sign it.   Then said, ok lets start the test! He handed me a pice of paper with 3 small sentences and told me to read 1 of them, I picked the first one that said: "How many Senators do we have" he marked correct and then gave me a pen and a sheet with 3 spaces and told me to write "We have one hundred Senators", marked correct and then went over the following questions: 1) Name of the national anthem, 2) What's the rule of law, 3) What is the ocean to the west of the US, 4) How old do citizens have to be to vote, 5) What happened on 9/11 (I knew they were going to ask that since today is 9/9) 6) Why does the flag has 13 stripes.   That was it! he said 6 out 10, don't need to ask any more... US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 July 2013 Filers	Hi everyone I have a question.... One of the requirements to bring at the interview is: A Government issued photo identification.... meaning my Drivers License.     I don't drive I have my DL but it says "Non Driver" but it expired. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 July 2013 Filers	Update: In line for interview 8/9/2013 Homesweethome, I just received the 'in line'. They explain it like this: On August 9, 2013, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling. When scheduling is complete, you will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview.   Thank you Carolyn1161, this is what my letter says:   Request for Applicant to Appear for Naturalization Initial Interview Please come to: US CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION SERVICES (Address) On Date: Tuesday September 10,2013 At time : 09:30 am   You are hereby notified to appear for an interview on your Application for Naturalization a t the date, time and place indicated appointment above. Waiting room capacity is limited, please do not arrive any earlier than 3 minutes before your scheduled  appointment time. The proceeding will take about two hours. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 July 2013 Filers	I received today my BIO - for  July 30th -  Yayyy!!! Updating! Now what to expect after this?     *You go to your bio appt. You can try to do a walk-in. Some offices allow it, others don't. Not sure if it speeds up your process or not. *Wait for your Inline Date, and start studying your 100 questions for the civics test. (USCIS will give you a free booklet to study when you go for your biometrics. There is also a free app for android smart phones and it costs 1.99 for iphone users. It's called US Citizenship Test 2013 Edition by Purple Buttons.) *Prepare your paperwork that you'll be taking with you to interview. They might send you a document in the mail instructing you what to bring with you to the interview. They usually request 2 additional photos ( I think this is incase they've misplaced the one you submitted with your application) What In Line and Int Ltr means?  *Inline Means the date that they place you inline with other applicants for interview appointment scheduling at your local office. Your case will be updated with this information and you will be notified by email and/or text if you've signed up on uscis website to receive them. IntLtr is the date your interview letter was WRITTEN.   Which one is the test? *The citizenship test occurs at the interview. You will also provide us with your interview date to add to the timeline.   What to expect at the interview? *You can read through the March filers, April Filers and other months for the interview reviews ....Interview is usually quick and easy process. March Should be having quite a few reviews being posted on there, as well as my month, April.    Is my hubby required to go with me? Definitely not a requirement because you alone will be interviewed, but it would be good for your moral support and it 'looks good' that you're there together, since it's such a big deal. I've read of cases where the IO asks the applicant if their spouse is with them, and if IO doesn't see them sitting with them, they've asked where they're at, but every IO is different, every state is different. You can try to do a walk-in. Some offices allow it, others don't. Not sure if it speeds up your process or not. *Wait for your Inline Date, and start studying your 100 questions for the civics test. (USCIS will give you a free booklet to study when you go for your biometrics. There is also a free app for android smart phones and it costs 1.99 for iphone users. It's called US Citizenship Test 2013 Edition by Purple Buttons.) *Prepare your paperwork that you'll be taking with you to interview. They might send you a document in the mail instructing you what to bring with you to the interview. They usually request 2 additional photos ( I think this is incase they've misplaced the one you submitted with your application) What In Line and Int Ltr means?  *Inline Means the date that they place you inline with other applicants for interview appointment scheduling at your local office. Your case will be updated with this information and you will be notified by email and/or text if you've signed up on uscis website to receive them. IntLtr is the date your interview letter was WRITTEN.   Which one is the test? *The citizenship test occurs at the interview. You will also provide us with your interview date to add to the timeline.   What to expect at the interview? *You can read through the March filers, April Filers and other months for the interview reviews ....Interview is usually quick and easy process. March Should be having quite a few reviews being posted on there, as well as my month, April.    Is my hubby required to go with me? Definitely not a requirement because you alone will be interviewed, but it would be good for your moral support and it 'looks good' that you're there together, since it's such a big deal. I've read of cases where the IO asks the applicant if their spouse is with them, and if IO doesn't see them sitting with them, they've asked where they're at, but every IO is different, every state is different. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 July 2013 Filers	Updating.... got my NOA1 on Jul 15th. Ok so I was so stressed out because I didn´t receive my NOA letter,so I called USCIS, they told me I should make an appt at the local office, which we did. My hubby was off today too so I was pretty surprised that we can have an appt today! so we went downtown, almost 2 pm. We explained them I got my ASC letter but never received my NOA, so they took my passport and put a stamp on it, date TODAY and expire date is 02/07/2013. I got it!!! I did receive my ASC Biometric letter. Is there any reason I did not receive it yet? I see most of you guys received the NOA before the ASC. I know I have to wait 30 days but.. I have 2 questions: 1. Do we have to pay something at the Biometrics appt??? or it is included with the check we already sent?? 2. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 MARCH 2012 FILERS	To all of you who didn´t receive your NOA..... but you received your Biometric appt letter, you MUST make an INFOPASS appt online at www.uscis.gov. You can choose date/time of the appt. Uscis sends the NOA BEFORE they send the Biometric Appt, so If you did not receive it yet, you ARE NOT gonna get it, and they don´t send copies or duplicates. Don´t waste anytime and do it ASAP. You can call USCIS, number is in your ASC (Biometric appt letter) to get more info. That is what we did. My passport is expired too but they stamped it anyway, they don´t care if your passport is active or expired at all. I am in the process to renew my passport,but still use it as a proof of my year extension. If your greencard expires and you don´t have the stamp in your passport OR the NOA letter, you are OUT OF STATUS, you don´t want it. The appointment takes 5 minutes, just take with you, your ASC letter, your passport, greencard or ID and you will be fine. I really don´t know why my I never received my NOA, but they told me it might be lost in the mail. We sent the package in Jan 18, never got it. I hope it helps... Philippines	calling it quits	I´m sorry to hear it. But, did u talk to her before her arrival about your economical situation? If she wants to send money to her family great! I do it too! but I work!! Does she work? If so, she needs to know there are some expenses u have to pay every month TOGETHER as a couple,and if there is something left, I can´t see any problem sending money "sometimes" not all the time to her family. And about your Sprint bills, she should use International Calling Cards, there are thousands with good rates to any countries, a $5 calling card gives u around 2 hrs or more to call to her country, and it is just like a local call here. Our Sprint bill didn´t go up since I got here so that is a good choice. Take a seat, talk and talk and TALK! maybe she is too young but she has to grow up, she is married? now, and YOU AND HER are a family, her family in PH is in second place. I hope it works for u guys.
