Russia, Ukraine and BelarusMultiple visa denials

Welcome to VJ Maryna.

We just went through this process for my Mother-in-law from Berdyansk, and did not have any problems, but one of the first things we did was have her visit a friend in the Czech Republic and get a Schengen Visa.

When it came time for the interview, things went very smoothly. As was suggested earlier, send you mother on a nice vacation to a Schengen country.

Dave

Thank you for your advice.

My wife is going to Belarus for a visit next month. She and her mom are planning to take an 8-day bus tour to Poland, Germany, France & Italy. Our hope is that obtaining a visa for Schengen Agreement countries (and returning after her trip) will be helpful in getting a future visitor visa for the US.

Good luck! I hope your mother in law will get US visa then.

Some people say that if you have couple denials there is no chance to get visa, but we still hope that she can get one. We are so tired coming to Russia and Ukraine every year just to see parents instead of spending our vacation here with them

Thank you for your answer. She does have a job, a house, son and all the relatives. She came with all the documents for the interview, bank statements etc, but the visa officer did not even look at them :(

Hi guys, My mother applied for visitor visa 5 times and was denied. I am a green card holder,my husband and children are citizens. We do not plan to apply for a immigrant visa after I get citizenship. We just want her to come and visit us for 2 weeks. Her application was denied because of the lack of ties to her home country. The government published new rules that ease the obtaining of immigrant visa. But what about non-immigrant visas for our parents? I created a petition about this issue on whitehouse.com. If some of you could sign it I would really appreciate it. https://petitions.wh...arents/vz75gjHm

Thank you

ThailandI-134 concerns

I am preparing to file an I-129F and am very worried about the I-134 Affidavit of Support. I, the American citizen sponsoring my Thai fiancé, have not worked at all during the past 9 years after suffering a severe trauma brain injury resulting from a bicycle accident in 2004, and my disability payments are just barely above the poverty level for one person and below the 125% level for one person. The required income needed is based on a 2 person household, right? My income is well below that. I have other assets like money in the bank and I receive monthly income for the repayment of a loan I made, are these things going to be able to get me to an acceptable I-134 level? I have no Joint sponsor available and understand the US Consulate in Thailand would not accept one anyway.  Do I stand any chance of the US Consulate in Thailand approving my fiance?s K1 visa? They seem to be hell-bent on denying every visa that they can.

Thailandrequired income for the I-134

OK folks. I did update my profile to show that we are applying for a a K1 visa through an I-129F. I am sorry if this Visa Journey website is too lame to show these updates, but it was done. Please bash someone else for these lacks of information, it was not me! We are applying for a K1 visa and have submitted an I-129F to the USCIS. My fiance' is Thai and lives in Thailand, so he will be interviewed by the U.S. Consulate in Bangkok. OK?

Thailandrequired income for the I-134

Sawadee all:

I have seen on the NVC website that the required income/assets for the sponsor is 100% of poverty level for a 2 person household (Annual income of $15510 or assets of 5 times that amount, so $77550) I can meet both of these, but not 125% of poverty level as has been stated is required at the U.S. Consulate in Bangkok by VisaJourney members.

Can anyone here verify what the NVC/U.S. Consulate in Bangkok will find acceptable on an I-134?  -Kop khun kop,  -David

The following is from:  http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html#9

Do the Same Income Requirements Apply to Form I-134 as Apply to Form I-864?

No. The 125 percent of the federal poverty guideline minimum income requirement, the most recent year's tax return, and other requirements only apply when Form I-864 is needed. Applicants presenting Form I-134 will need to show that their U.S. sponsor's income is 100 percent of the federal poverty guideline.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F form expired

The  I-129F forms available as PDFs online all say that the form has expired in the top right hand corner. I do not want to begin this process on a form that will not be accepted due to the expired validity of the form. The I-129F instructions are also expired. When can I expect to see updated versions available?

I am preparing to file an I-129F and am very worried about the I-134 Affidavit of Support. I, the American citizen sponsoring my foreign fiancé, have not worked at all during the past 9 years after suffering a severe trauma brain injury resulting from a bicycle accident in 2004, and my disability payments are just barely above the poverty level for one person and below the 125% level for one person. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLegal help. Should I or shouldn't I

I am preparing to file an I-129F to bring my fiance? to America from Thailand. We have had major trouble (repeated failures) with trying to get him a tourist visa and seen a lot of warnings that everything must be executed perfectly when doing a K1, so I am thinking that I should hire a good immigration attorney to help us.

Has anyone here been successful with the K1 process without using an immigration attorney? If it?s advisable to go with an immigration attorney, can anyone here recommend a good one in the Olympia/Seattle/Tacoma WA area? Has anyone here used LIH Law? If so, would you recommend her for helping with a K1? Are there any other same sex couples trying do the K1 here?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of ongoing relationship question

Thanks Karee. How much documentation does USCIS need with the I-129F on having met with the past 2 years? I have strong documentation that I was in Thailand and staying in the city where my fiancé resides (receipts for misc purchases) but only 3 or 4 photos of us together. We have a dozen or so photos of the 2 of together over the past seven years for his interview in BKK, but not so much for my recent trip to see him.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of ongoing relationship question

If providing ?Proof of ongoing relationship? with the I-129F packet, does this need to focus on the time following when the 2 of us met within the past 2 years, or can it be focused more on the past? We have been in a committed relationship for the past 7 years and spent a great deal of time together during this. I have much more ducumentation available for the past 7 years than I do for the past 6 months (we were together in Thailand during the past 6-9 months). Would it be helpful to show proof of our long term relationship preceding the most recent visit within the past 2 years?
