US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionOur case has been referred to consular for further review
Just copied this from the US Consulate in Manila's web page:

Document Verification Fee
Applicants whose visa eligibility is dependent upon their marital status (i.e. K-1, K-3, CR-1, IR-1, F-1 and F2-B categories) will normally need to have their documents verified through the National Statistics Office (NSO) before the U.S. Embassy in Manila can issue the visa. Those with a delayed birth or death certificate or only local civil registrar copies of such documents may need to have their documents verified.

In order to avoid unnecessary delay in the visa issuance process, the U.S. Embassy in Manila strongly encourages applicants in the categories mentioned above to pay the document verification fee prior to their immigrant visa interview. Payment can be made through any Metrobank location. The cost of the document verification is PhP 650 per applicant. For specific instructions on how to pay the document verification fee, please click here. If you are unable to pay for the document verification before your immigrant visa interview, you may be asked to pay the fee on the day of your interview. Please note that if you pay on the day of your interview, there will be a delay of one to two weeks in the processing of your application.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionbeneficiary has former Visa petition
I haven't received a NOA2 yet. Trying to be ever prepared, I was looking over the DS-156 form. Question 36 asks if anyone has ever filed a petition on your (the beneficiaries) behalf. My fiancee had a former petition filed. If you answer yes, it asks who? I know the name but what other information should send along with the DS-156 form? Should I send dates as well? Any help would be appreciated.

My fiance is a nervous wreck right now, she had her interview this morning and she was hammared with questions that doubts our relationship. To elaborate, the Consul ask about a trip that my fiance and i had to where i brough my fiances mother. They wanted to know why? My fiance answered that I wanted to get to know both my soon to be mother in-law too. We had plenty of time to be ALONE, but for some reason this consul was suspicious about that trip to boracay.. She did not even consider my other trips alone with my fiance...Now the consul scheduled another interview for this afternoon...is this normal????.... My fiance feels like she being punch left and right and all i can tell her is be honest and hope for the best....how i wish i can be with her to comfort right now!!

WOW.....I hope everything turned out okay. Good luck and God bless.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionmedical and interview in manila
I am really not sure at this point. My Fiancee has to travel from Dinagat Island. The US Embassy "Applicants are advised to have their medical examinations done at least one week before their interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Manila." But is that 7 days or 7 working days? I just don't know, LOL.

Since my Fiancee does not live in the Manila area, she will have to travel there. Luckily she has family there to stay with. My question is, if she gets her medical on Monday, is it wise to schedule her interview for the following Monday?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNumber 11 on Form I-134
QUOTE (Mr Bill @ Dec 27 2008, 05:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Section # 11 on the Form I-134 Affidavit of Support asks whether "I intend (or do not intend) to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3.

Since this is a Fiancee visa, I intend to marry and support her and her child when they get here. However, I think that perhaps this area is applicable only to persons who are going to be co-sponsors. In any event it is not clear to me.

My question: should I reply "I intend" of "I do not intend" to this particular section?

Check out the example forms on Visa Journey.
Don't mark either. In the space below write N/A ( K-1 Visa process for permanent residence)

Does anyone know if the sponsor is married that the both the sponsor and there spouse has to sign the Form I-134 Affidavit of Support...I was reading some other post and it was talking about this being true.. Please advise

I believe if the married sponsor has their own bank account and tax return it is not necessary for them both to sign. However, if the married sponsor has a joint bank account with their spouse, or they file joint tax return, I believe both signatures are required.
I hope this helps.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLack of financial docs
QUOTE (RyDa @ Dec 17 2008, 07:11 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello everybody!
I always thought that the hardest part would be to survive the NOA2 wait, but here we are, have the Interview date set, and it does not get easier.
Here is the financial aspect of our situation. My fiance, the American citizen, has been in school 2005-2007. Therefore, his income has been sketchy. So his mom has volunteered to be our co-sponsor. Now, it took her a while to make this decision, especially after I sent them the list of what they may ask for at the embassy. Her main concern was sending all her detailed info across the globe, it may getting stolen, identity theft, well, you get it.
Now, finally my fiance tells me she has everything ready. At a closer look, it turns out that "everything" includes tax transcripts for 2007, bank statement and affidavit. I asked about the letter of employment, to show that not ony she had a steady income in the past, but she still got it, right? And was told "it's an overkill".
And my fiance, who now makes about 22K, but he's only been at this job for 2 months is sending me his affidavit, his bank statement and recent pay stubs. Turns out he did not file taxes in 2007 as he did not work - only studied full time. So I asked to also sent me a diploma, or a certificate or smth from his school to prove that. And he might get a letter of employment himself, but he says that no one does those where he works .
Please, tell me how screwed are we? We've been arguing over this a lot lately, and he says that it is just too much to send ALL that I asked for. But it's not like I just decided to ask them for all those dox, just for fun.... Oh boy, am I worried?
Thanks!

As far as identity theft is concerned, I believe you can black out personal information such as social security numbers and bank account numbers. If I am wrong I hope someone will correct me.

I am so confused at this point. I have been told, my fiance has to attend the CFO seminar before she can get her passport in the Philippines. They are also asking for a lot of information from me, including an FBI criminal record check. Can someone tell me where I can find the requirements for the CFO seminar in the Philippines?

HI GUYS
I JUST WANNA ASK ABOUT THIS IMMIGRATION TIME LINE. CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN THIS FOR ME? I'M JUST CONFUSED COZ I ALWAYS CHECK THIS EVERYDAY, AND THEY WILL SHOW THE DATES THAT ARE STILL ON PROCESS.
AND WHEN I CHECK IT TODAY, I SAW THERE THAT THEY WORKED ALREADY TO THE DATES WHEN I FILED MY APPLICATION, BUT WHY IS IT, I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY KIND OF NOTICE THAT COULD TELL THAT THEY'RE WORKING WITH MY PAPERS... IS THIS IMMIGRATION TIMELINE IS TRUE? COZ I JUST FELT SO DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE I ALWAYS CHECK THIS SITE, TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY CHANGES OF MY STATUS... I FELT SO DOWN TODAY COZ WE FILED THIS PETITON SINCE MAY2008, AND UNTIL NOW WERE STILL WAITING FOR THIS NOA2!!! AND I'VE HEARD ALSO THAT SOME MAY FILERS GOT THERE NOA2 ALREADY?
I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME TO UNDERSTAND THIS...
THANK YOU SO MUCH, PLEASE PRAY FOR ME.... HUHUHUHU

You can check your case status online at USCIS. You only have to sign up for e-mail notification with your EAC number. Then you can check back and see when the last time they "touched" your file. I understand your dilemma. My NOA 1 date was May 23 and they have already sent NOA 2 to some people who filed after that. I called the service center and they couldn't give me any information. They said they are working on February. Yeah, right. I am getting extremely aggravated. I will give it one more week before I call my Congressman.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsProcessing Timelines
I was just wondering. I have a NOA 1 date of 5-23. It says they are processing 5-26. I also see others with dates after mine get their NOA 2 already. If they process these in the order on which they were received, how is this possible? I'm just getting tired of all the waiting. I am a US citizen, born and raised. Where are my rights here? Other people just wander across the border and stay here with no problem. They receive medical attention and other benefits at my expense. All I am asking is to bring the woman I love here and marry her. I feel as if I am under a microscope and suspect of criminal action. Sorry for venting. Every one here has been very kind and I appreciate what you are going through. I just miss my sweety:(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHow can my timeline dates change so drastically in one day????
QUOTE (Ken1 @ Dec 13 2008, 09:10 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi Everyone,

After we fill out our timelines here we are given an estimate of our wait time until adjudication. First, I understand that this is just an estimate based on the history of other people's experience here on VJ, but I like it as a reference. I see my estimated date move a little bit from time to time and I figure it is computer generated and moves as the data changes every day. However, yesterday or the day before my adjudication date was between Jan. 21 and January 29th and today it says between February 13th and March 7th!!!!! What could have caused my (and I imagine everyone else waiting for a k1 from Vermont) date to change so drastically? Should I be concerned that my wait time really jumped a month?

Thanks and speedy approvals to all!

K

You can't go by the time lines here on VJ. My time line says my case should be adjudicated between October26, 2008 and November 16, 2008. I am still waiting for NOA 2. Good luck.

Vermont is just now approving mid-April so unless you have an expedite it's not very likely your petition was approved just yet.

I have known my SO since February 2008. I intend to fly to India to see him in February 2009 and I would like to start the filing process as soon as I get back. I've been gathering information for the past few weeks but to be quite honest I find some of this very confusing. I'm clear on the basics of what has to happen, but then I signed up here and all of these acronyms are frying my brain lol. As a newbie, do you have any helpful advice you can offer me as I start my journey to being with the love of my life? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I suggest getting all the information together for the I-129f and G-325A before you visit your Fiance. Fill out the G-325A online (completely) except for signature. When you visit your Fiance he can sign all 4 copies of "HIS" G-325A while you are there. This will save the hassle of faxing and mailing the forms. His signature is not required on the I-129f. Also, if you draft a letter of intent to marry, he can sign that when you visit him. I hope this is helpful. Good luck:D

Hi! I have been reading VJ for awhile now but have just now registered so I am new. I have read in one of the post on here that the Vermont Service Center is on the August Filers now and that some have already received their NOA 2. Does anyone know if this is for real. I am trying not to get to excited just yet but it is hard. I pray that it is true. Sorry I have not had time to put our timeline on here. USCIS received our K-1 visa on August 14 and it was touched once on August 19.
Thank you in advance for your answers. Lana and Costel

I sincerely hope for the rest of you that Vermont has their act together now. It took them 6 and a half months to approve mine. Good luck!!!!!

A long time ago we applied for our Fiancee Visa, here it is Christmas night, and still waiting, this past week we did have a Touch, on the 21st of December, but nothing as of now. 2 weeks I contacted a local Congressman, and he said he would get something done, haven't heard anything yet. Its just alittle over 8 months now, we have already did a Inquiry, but still nothing ,,, can any one give us some suggestions. I am heading back over to the Philippines in Feb for 2 weeks,,,, i need to see and be with my fiancee, even though we talk everynight on the phone for almost a hour its not like being with her. I ve ran out of things to do,,, all I am doing now is waiting,,, what else can I do????

You need to call and ask what is going on? sometimes you need to call and follow up not just wait.
I have called the USCIS twice a week now,,, I made the Inquiry along with my attorney on December 1st,, so I am not just waiting,, have done alot,,, but nothing is happening...

You "may" have better luck with one of your senators. My congressman didn't squat but my senator "kicked butte". I called his office and the immigration specialist had things squared away in a couple days.

I had the same response. I contacted my Congressman....nothing. Then I contacted my Senator and things got squared away. Good luck and keep the faith.

There are 3 ways to check for updates.

1. By searching online: https://egov.immigra.../jsps/index.jsp - you'll just need the receipt number.

2. By logging into your account. To register on the USCIS site: https://egov.immigra...ectusertype.jsp

3. By e-mail (once you have registered and clicked on the "E-mail on" button.

Hi

I'm really hoping someone can help?
I'm very confused as to where to find our case updates. I log in using option 2 as desribed above and click on our receipts number, but the only entry in there is the following (please see attachement).

Why are there no updates, for example "touched" or anything of the sort?

My fiance has been getting updates in the mail - the last one being from the NVC to say that our case has been approved and is being sent to the consulate - but nothing is being updated on the website?
Any idea?

Thanks,
Emile

I think when you are approved to go to NVC you will have a new receipt number.
